𝐁𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌
THIRTEEN — ( GREEK THEATRE ! )

               AURORA HAD FELT SUCH A RELIEF BEING BACK IN CALIFORNIA. She loved being on tour but there was nothing like being at home. But it didn't last for very long. Madelyn had come over as soon as she was back in her apartment and Aurora was over the moon, but the reality set in of seeing Drew again and playing a sold out Greek Theatre in less than 48 hours and Aurora felt sick.

It was probably her biggest show yet, first of all. That was enough to make her feel sick. And she could tell Drew was trying to get a little more serious with her, trying to peel away her layers and Aurora couldn't say she was enjoying it. She didn't want things to get serious with Drew, she just wanted casual. But she had already invited Drew to her show and agreed to see him the day before. She thought maybe she would feel better when she saw him. And it was all fine, till Aurora was lying next to Drew in her bed. She was curled up next to him, her head resting on his chest as he ran his fingers up and down her back. It would have been okay, Aurora could have stayed there for hours. But Drew decided to open his mouth and ruin it.

He started rambling on about how much he'd missed her while she was on tour and how he didn't expect to. Aurora didn't know what to say to him, was she supposed to agree with him? Say that she had missed him just as much? She had, maybe, but she didn't need to vocalise it.

Luckily, Drew took her silence as a sign to shut up and he did. Making Aurora feel a lot better. It was not the time to start getting serious with a man she hardly knew, and was using to make herself feel good. She thought they were on the same page. Aurora could've stayed next to him for the rest of the day, but she didn't out of fear of things getting awkward. And Drew knew then he'd fucked up, opening his mouth and being honest with her. But at least he knew not to do it again, at least not for a little while.

When Aurora got up from the bed and slipped her clothes back on, Drew knew it was time for him to leave. At least he would still see her again the next day at her show. So Drew left Aurora's apartment, not before placing a soft kiss on her lips, and left Aurora alone with her thoughts. Her brain going at a hundred miles per hour trying to figure out how she felt about the man that had just left.

And they were still circling her brain the next day when she had her next show. Aurora was at the Greek Theatre, an hour away from going on stage. All of her friends and her band were backstage with her but she couldn't seem to enjoy it as much as she should have been. Not when they were still waiting for Madelyn and Drew to show up. Thankfully, only Whitney and Paloma knew her relationship with Drew, everyone else just thinking he was now a friend of Aurora's, through Madelyn.

"Hey." Whitney had found Aurora, sitting by herself in her dressing room as she touched up her makeup she had applied only an hour before. "What's going on?" Whitney asked her, sliding herself onto the dressing room table situated directly in front of the mirror Aurora was using to fix her hair and makeup.

"Nothing." Aurora tried to act confused, as if she had no idea what Whitney was talking about but she couldn't fool Whitney, she saw straight through her.

"Rory, come on." Whitney raised her eyebrows at her friend. "It's just me."

Aurora let out a sigh, closing her eyes for a moment before letting them focus on Whitney. "I just feel weird." She didn't want to elaborate, but knew Whitney would know exactly what she was talking about.

"About Drew?" Aurora nodded. "Is it because you invited him to a show? Because I really don't think it's a big deal. It doesn't mean anything." Whitney tried reassuring Aurora, she thought she was freaking out for no reason. It wasn't as if Drew was confessing his love for Aurora, they were far from that.

"It's not just that. I want him to be here, I want to keep spending time with him but I don't want it to mean anything. But I know it will, to him." Aurora explained. "It's like catch twenty two. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place."

"I get it, but I think you're worrying too much. You're worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. Just enjoy yourself and enjoy his company." Whitney told her. "It's nice seeing you happy." Which was Whitney's way of telling Aurora she liked the version of Aurora that had been around since she had met Drew.

Aurora simply nodded at Whitney's words, trying to take them on board. She did need to stop worrying. She was supposed to be enjoying tonight and instead she was sitting alone worrying about things that might not even happen. That wasn't like her at all.

And it was perfect timing, because as the two girls wrapped up their conversation and were about to head back to the others, Aurora had recieved a text message from Madelyn telling her that she and Drew had arrived. So Aurora excused herself from Whitney and made her way out the back of the venue to meet the two and let them in.

Aurora saw Madelyn first, her blonde hair sticking out like a sore thumb in the dark car park out the back of the theatre. Aurora whistled, gaining the attention of the two actors. Drew had been thankful it was already dark outside because the face he must have pulled when he saw Aurora in her stage outfit would've made her run to the hills. If he was a cartoon, his eyes would have shot right out of his face.

She was wearing a baby pink corset with a heart cut out the middle, which was now her thing, with a lacy pink skirt, white stockings and a pair of her signature chunky heeled boots. Aurora looked incredible and Drew couldn't keep his eyes off her.

Madelyn had squealed when she saw Aurora, rushing over to her and bringing her in for a hug. "You look amazing! I am so excited for the show." Madelyn told her, giving her a squeeze before letting go.

Aurora then turned to greet Drew. She wasn't sure how to greet him, but luckily she didn't have to think about it as Drew leant in for a hug. He had discreetly pressed a kiss to the blonde's cheek before wrapping her up in a quick hug. "You look incredible." He had whispered into her ear before letting her go. Aurora had simply smiled at his complement, before turning and leading the pair inside.

Then by the time she had reached everyone else and introduced them to Drew and Madelyn, it was time for Aurora to go on stage. So everyone scattered, her band taking their places backstage and her friends finding their reserved seats. And Aurora certainly put on a show. The whole crowd was electric, the atmopshere was incredible and she sung her little heart out. Drew didn't think it was possible to be more attracted to Aurora but watching her on stage performing, doing what she does best, he certainly went home that night being more attracted to her than ever. And he was royally screwed.

i am so so so sorry it's taken me this long to update. i did not forgot about this book i promise, i have not lost motivation either, i was just busy and trying to update other books too.
