A smile dances across her lips as she rereads Pedri's reply.

Vivienne couldn't pinpoint the exact moment but during the course of her staying in Monaco and Pedri being in Barcelona, something had shifted between their dynamic. Maybe, the phrase distance makes the heart grow fonder was true for their case.

"What are you smiling at?" Her mother, Pascale asks her with a knowing smile as she sits down beside on the couch in front of the television as they wait for it to start broadcasting the latest Barcelona match. It had been Arthur's idea to watch the LaLiga match even though he doesn't follow the league, his excuse had been that as a Barca player's wag it was Vivienne's duty to support him but in reality everyone (except Pascale) knew that he just wanted to tease his younger sister.

Vivienne opens her mouth to answer but Mijoo (who's splayed on the ground and is also hogging all the blanket to herself while watching Breaking Bad on her phone) answers in her stead, "She's texting her lover boy."

Vivienne kicks Mijoo's shin at her answer.

Pascale just shakes her head at their cat and mouse shenanigans but there's a warm smile on her face.

"Is that so?"

Vivienne nods meekly knowing that although her mother means well, she's also quite overbearing in the whole dating department especially when it comes to her children having new partners.

The warm smile of Pascale's face turns giddy at her daughter's confirmation. After the whole João incident and how much Vivienne had suffered because of him, Pascale was glad that her daughter was moving on and in her opinion this Pedri boy seemed like nice and he was also someone who'd been making Vivienne happy even without her knowing about it.

"So...when am I meeting him?" Pascale asks giddily.

"Maman!" Vivienne exclaims and from her peripheral vision she could see Arthur snickering to himself because he's the only one in the room other than Vivienne to know that her and Pedri weren't actually dating.

"What? Can't I meet the boy who's making my daughter blush over texts?"

Pascale's question makes both Mijoo and Arthur laugh while Vivienne just flushes in embarrassment.

"Stop." She groans.

"I'm curious, Vivi." Pascale says, still insisting on when Vivienne would introduce her new boyfriend to the family, "You should totally invite him to the next Grand Prix."

"We're so not talking about this right now," Vivienne says in a stern manner and stubbornly fixes her eyes on the tv screen, "Let's just watch the match, it's about to start."

"Hell no! I'm not watching a bunch of men kick a ball for almost two hours." Mijoo exclaims with a frown on her face.

"We never complain about when we have to watch you go around in circles in a piece of metal for two hours." Vivienne throws back at her with a raised eyebrow.

"That's treason." The Korean-Monagasqué sits up with betrayal written over her face. "You've changed your loyalties so fast and that too for a man!"

"Can't blame her," Arthur speaks up, "Because have you seen Pedri? He's so Lana Del Rey coded."

Everyone falls silent and stares at Arthur. The only sound that could be heard is the voice of Xavi as he tells about his optimistic strategies for today's game. The silence is only broken when Mijoo when points at Arthur while addressing Vivienne who's still flabbergasted by Arthur's words.

"I think he has a crush on your man." Mijoo says while pointing at Arthur who immediately goes to rebuke her statement by choosing violence.

"What the fuck! No, I do not!"

"I think you do."

"Please, let's just watch the match."
