Xavier
"I'm coming baby girl." I mutter to myself as I speed through the empty roads of Los Angeles
It's at least 1 in the morning, and I haven't been able to sleep for the past two days.
I consulted with the Henderson's and told them that she's at my house because I knew they'd kill me if they knew where she actually is.
She hasn't been answering her phone, but I placed a tracker in it when we first started dating.
Call me possessive, crazy, or a lunatic.
I'll respond to all of them.
But because I know where she is, my job is much easier, so the jokes on her captives.
I have to play my cards right because whoever took her knows exactly what they're doing.
I just don't know why they're doing this.
Alyssa never did anything. She's a little ball of sunshine, well until you piss her off, but she's calm all the other tume.
"Turn left in 3 miles." I hear Siri say as I continue my way down the dark narrow road
The scenary gives off a mysterious aura, and even though I don't want to be in this situation right now, I have to find Alyssa and bring her back home.
To her family and to me.
"Turn left." A blaring voice yells breaking me out of my thoughts and grip the steering wheel tighter
I swerve left and thank God no one else is on this road because I would've crashed by now.
I continue down the narrow road, and if I'm going to be honest, it feel hypnotized.
I try to focus on finding Alyssa, but the only thing that stays on my mind is my conscious telling me I'm an idiot.
I knew I should've went with her when she went in that house, but I allowed her to reassure me, and now look where it got us.
I'm here in my car, on the road, driving 80 trying to track her down just to see where she is. When I could've had her wrapped in my arms dozing in and out of slumber.
But even though my mind is occupied by regret and desperation, I can't help but think about why this is happening.
I know I fucked up in the past, but that's why I'm trying to start fresh, but life keeps pulling me back to my teenage hood, and I can't escape it.
But I can't say that it's made me who I am today. I'm in the position to help any person out, wealthy or poor, and I have access to everything I ever wanted.
Except Alyssa.

Alyssa
"Why didn't you tell me?" I whisper to Cindy who's looking everywhere but me
Nothing but silence can be heard, and I'm literally on the verge of crying because within a 48 hour period, I've been shot, yelled at, called out of my name, and lied to.
All because I walked in that damn house alone.
I should've known something was wrong from the start because the door was slightly ajar, but it didn't register until I read the note.
But the only thing I could think of is why.
I gave her everything.
I gave her my love, my friendship, and my trust, and what did I get in return?
A fucking gun shot wound.
"Answer me good dammit!" I scream unable to keep my anger and tears at bay
I'm tired of giving my heart to people who just breaks it, and then they flip the script and blame me.
She doesn't say anything and continue to stare at the floor, and I'm about to scream in frustration, but she turns to me and speaks.
"Do you know who my mom is?" She asks narrowing her eyes at me
"Julia, yeah I remember." I reply scoffing
"No. Do you actually know who my mom is." She asks once more making my eyebrows furrow
"Isn't she the lady who shot me?" I ask sarcastically
"Yes, but she's in the Mafia, and she's the boss. She has the title of a man because of her past, and she owns it like it's made for her." She retorts after rolling her eyes
I stare at her with my jaw basically on the floor, because this is just too much to process.
While growing up, she told me that both her parents were in the army, and rarely came home.
Which happened to be a lie.
"Why are you telling me this?" I hesitantly ask after a while
"Do you know how many people she's killed Alyssa?" She asks once more suddenly making me gulp
"No." I whisper looking at the ground
"Exactly. You don't know what I've been through or what I've seen or what I've had to do. I've had to roll bloody dead people into ditches and rivers just to keep my mother out of prison!" She screams walking towards me
"Cind--" I try interjecting only to get cut off
"No! I heard your shit now you're going to hear mine!" She screams while clenching her fists
I instantly shut my mouth but keep my composure strong.
"My mother was shot in the thigh by your perfect little boyfriend Xavier Grey. And instead of doing a damn thing about it, he ran like a bitch, and kept it on the low. But what he didn't know was it trailed up to her stomach and made its way to me. And thats why I have the permanent scar on my back. When I was born, I had to receive back surgery in order to get the bullet out." Her tone is sharp yet her voice is low like it pained her to talk about it
My eyes widen and my jaw slackens and every fiber of trust I had for Xavier breaks.
I can't believe he kept this away from me.
We promised no secrets. I told him everything, and when he told me about his ex, I thought he wasn't capable of hurting.
But I was horribly mistaken.
"That wasn't the only thing that happened... I was placed in intensive care because I was preemie, so just imagine the pain I was in. My mother had to stay away from the press and her job to take care of me, but as the years went by, she would call me names and blame me for the tragedy your boyfriend caused." She adds, vemonously walking up to me
"Cind--" I try once again
"Why should I have to be sorry if he wasn't?" She asks cocking her head to the side
Her tone is sharp, and her words hold hurt and pain, and it kills me to know that Xavier caused it.
"I don't know what to say about this Cindy..." I say softly trailing off
"Don't worry, you don't have to. Your little boy toy is on his way here, and once that happens, you can meet him in hell." She spits nastily making my heart stop
Before I can object, the doors burst open and a man with an orange bandana covering half of his face steps in.
"He's here."
I look towards Cindy and shake my head softly as tears start to well in my eyes.
She looks me right in the eye and reaches upwards to my neck and injects me with a cold liquid making my eyes drop heavy and breathing slow.
"Bring him to me."
