Brook sat in English class, not doing anything while the others chatted as they waited for the teacher to enter. Brook let out a small groan as Nikki approached her desk.

"When are you ever going to listen to me, Brook?" Nikki scoffed. Brook rose her eyebrows questioningly.

"Excuse me?"

"I told you Jacob was no good. He spent all those years being a bad boy, he's only been a 'Cowboy' for a few months, did you really expect him to change?" She said. Brook folded her arms over her chest, wanting to know where Nikki was headed with this conversation.

"Yeah, I'm gonna need more details." Brook said. Nikki glared at her and pulled out her phone. She looked like she was scrolling through some messages until she came across the one she wanted and showed the screen to Brook. Brooks mouth slowly drifted open as she saw the picture of Sara and Jacob kissing. She felt hurt, and wanted to wipe the smug look off of Nikkis face.

"How do I know this picture is real?" Brook snapped. Nikki smirked.

"I have the picture, and Sara and I were over there for dinner last night, even ask his mother, she loved us. If that's not enough proof, then I don't know what to tell you." Nikki said. Brook stared at the picture for a few more moments until she thought she had tourtured herself long enough.

"Go away Nikki." Brook snapped. Nikki's smug look was back as she walked away, happy that she had defeated Brook.

"What's up with Brook today?" James mumbled to Jacob after Brook had left. Jacob shrugged. They were currently getting dressed for the reveal party. They had talked to Shawn at lunch time and he told them how neither he or Ginny knew the baby's gender, the only one who did was Mil. It was to be surprise to all of them. Mil ordered a cake that would be either blue or pink on the inside. The twins had been debating all day about what the baby would be. James wanted a boy, and Jacob was a softy and wanted a girl.

"Hey, are you okay, Jake?" James asked looking over at his twin as Jacob pulled on his boots. Jacob let out a deep sigh and shook his head.

"James, Sara kissed me today." He said. James froze and looked at him.

"What?!?" He asked shrilly. Jacob glared at him.

"Keep it down James!" He said harshly. He ran his fingers through his black hair and let out another sigh. "She just grabbed me and kissed me, right after lunch. it only lasted a second, and I pushed her away, but what if word leaks out? I've already been accused of cheating on Brook in the past, with Sara even! I can't loose her, Jay!" James sat down next to him and bit his lip.

"I would tell her tonight. It's better she finds out from you and the truth, rather then some rumor." James said. Jacob nodded his understanding and stood.

"You're right. Come on, we can't miss the reveal." He said.

Jacob frantically searched for Brook that night, and he couldn't find her anywhere. He tried calling her, but she didn't answer. He was going to ask Jewel, just as the cake came out and Mil was grinning from ear to ear. She had refused to tell anyone what tthe baby's gender was, so everyone was waiting desperately for this moment. Jacob paused and watched as Ginny and Shawn cut into the cake. The both looked at each other and smiled.

"It's a girl!" Shawn said. The whole barn cheered for the couple.

"Wait!" Mil said. Ginny and Shawn looked at her curiously, and so.was everyone else as she turned the cake around and gestured for Ginny and Shawn to cut once more. They shrugged and cut. Ginny rose her eyebrows up.

"Mil? What's this about? Are we having a boy or a girl?" She asked her sister. Jacob could now see that the other half of the cake was blue. Mil looked like she was about ready to burst with excitement.

"Both!" She squealed. "You're having twins!" Ginny's jaw slowly drifted open, then she grinned as Shawn swept her up into a kiss. Jacob cheered for his sister, but his cheering was cut short as he spotted Brook on the other side of the barn, slipping out of the barn. Jacob ran after her and the cool air met with his skin the second he stepped outside.

"Brook?!?" He called. He finally spotted Brook on the wooden swing that hung from a large oak tree in the Johnson's yard. He ran to her and she stared down at her feet as she moved her feet along the grass to move the swing. She refused to meet his gaze.

"Brook, we have to talk." He said. Brooks gaze snapped up to his and she glared at him.

"Yes we do. And I have five words to day; I'm breaking up with you." She stood and began to run back to the barn, but Jacob grabbed her arm and stared at her in horror.

"What?" He asked, not believing what he had heard. She glared at him.

"You heard me Jacob. I'm breaking up with you. Why don't you go crying to Sara!" Brook snapped. She pulled out of his grip and ran back into the barn, leaving Jacob standing in the middle of the Johnson's yard, staring where he last saw her disappear, with tears forming in his eyes, not knowing that Brook was sitting in the tack room sobbing.

Jacob stared up at the ceiling of his bedroom, not speaking at all, just thinking. She must have heard that Sara kissed him. either that, or she really no longer had feelings for him... He closed his eyes and let out a moan. He had never felt this way for a girl. It hurt, and he knew why, it was because he loved her, and he had just lost her. He had tried to call her, but she refused to answer, so Jacob walked back to the Maxwell ranch, texting David to tell him where he went. It was around ten at night by the time James slipped into their room.

"Where dis you go?" He asked. Jacob let out a shuddering sigh, letting a tear slip down his cheek.

"She broke up with me." He cried. "She's gone. I've now lost another person I care for."

AWW, POOR JACOB! so the picture on the side kinds gives you an idea of what the gender reveal cake would look like, though I had the boy and girl on different sides. I hope you like this chapter!
