the next morning, Jacob woke with a start as he heard a baby let out a small cry. He fell out of the rocking chair, not even remembering when he fell asleep. He quickly stood and looked down at Lucy, who gave him a small smile, showing him hoe she had no teeth yet. She let out a small giggle and he laughed. He picked her up and laid her on the changing table. He changed her diper and then changed her into a fresh outfit. He then scooped her into his arms anand headed over to the kitchen. He made her a bottle, and fed her. Mil and James her yet to wake up.

    There was a knock on the door and he let out a small sigh, setting Lucy in her swing then answering the door. He felt sudden dread dome over him as he saw the three people he didn't want to see at all. Lewis, Jon, and Sara. Sara let out a squeal and hugger him tightly around his neck, planting a kiss on his cheek. He pushed her away and Lewis and Jon gave him friendly pats on his back.

"How are you? We heard about your dad and Hayley." Lewis said sadly. Jacob was still mad at these three for pressuring him into smoking, something he promised himself he'd never do.

"Better then I was yesterday." He said running his fingers through his unruly black hair. Lucy let out a small coo from her swing and Sara pushed past him and ran to her. She smiled down at Lucy and Lucy began to cry a bit. Her crying must have woken Mil, because his sister came trudging into the room and rose her eyebrows as she saw Jacob's old friends. Her hair wasn't that messed up, but she was wearing short shorts and a tank top. Jacob glared at Lewis and Jon as he caught them eyeing her. Sara stood and glared at Mil.

"Jake? Who's this?" Sara asked with jealousy in her voice. Jacob smiled a bit.

"Sara, Lewis, Jon, this is my girlfriend." He teased, winking at Mil. She rolled her eyes and glared at him.

"Jake's just teasing with you." She said."I'm his half sister." Sara seemed to relax a bit, even though Jacob was silently laughing at her reaction.

"How long are you two in town?" Lewis asked looking down at Mil's legs. Jacob glared at Lewis, clearly disgusted.

"Are you seriously flirting with my little sister?!?" He asked. Lewis glared at Jacob, But Mil let out a laugh.

"I have a boyfriend." She said rolling her eyes at Lewis. He looked clearly disappointed. Jacob rose his eyebrows curiously, But she gave him a warning glare. She lied just to get him away from her.

"Why the heck do you have to be so loud!" James said as he shuffled into the room, rubbing his eyes. He was only wearing a pair of basketball shorts, no shirt. He caught Sara eyeing him, which Jacob found kind of funny. James was very fit from football and years of working on the ranch. Apparently stacking over a thousand bails of hay that weigh one hundred and fifty pounds, gives you great muscles and abs. Jacob had abs too, from football, but James' were more define, which Sara was enjoying looking at. James stopped when he caught sight of the other people in the room. Lewis and Jon were staring at James in horror, wondering why he and Jacob had the same face, while Sara wasn't even focused on his looks, rather than his body, much to all of their discomfort.

"Jacob! You never told us you had a twin!" Lewis said accusingly towards Jacob. Jacob smiled a bit.

"I would have told you if I knew myself. But I just met him four months ago." He said. Lucy began to cry again, so James got her out of her swing and held her close to him.

"So when are you all leaving?" Jon asked.

"Tomorrow." Mil said smiling. Lewis looked slightly disappointed and so did Sara.

"Why can't you just stay here?" Sara asked, not taking her eyes of James.

"Because this place is scary." Mil said. She had told Jacob the night before how she hated how close the neighbors were. She had never lived in a neighborhood before, she'd never even stayed the night it one.

"It can't be worse then Reno." Sara scoffed.

"We live almost an hour away from Reno. our closest neighbor is two miles away." James said. Lewis and Jon stared at them in horror.

"Don't you every get lonely?" Jon asked. James let out a laugh.

"There is a magical transporting device called the car." He said sarcastically.

"And we don't get lonely with seven other siblings." Mil said. She then glanced over at Lucy. "Make that eight." She said.

"And the other kids our age ride their horses over to our place and we ride to theirs." Jacob added. Jon and Lewis looked suddenly interested.

"Any hot girls?" Lewis asked. James and Jacob smiled, nodding while Mil scoffed.

"Both of them are dating my two best friends!" She said bitterly. Lewis smiled.

"Ooh, show me pictures of these girls!" He said. Jacob pulled out his phone and showed them pictures of Brook and Lily. Sara peered over Jacob's shoulder and glared at the pictures.

"They aren't even pretty!!" she said angrily. Lewis rolled his eyes.

"Those girls are hot, you're just jealous Jake likes a hick more then you." He said. She folded her arms and stormed out of the house.

"Thank goodness she's gone." James groaned. They all laughed.

"Was she making you uncomfortable?" Jacob teased.

"Very." James said.

   Lewis and Jon left a few minutes later, and the three siblings took the rest of the day to pack. They packed most of Lucy's clothes and what ever other essentials she would need, such as dipers and wipes.

"Welcome to Reno, Luce." Jacob as they were about to land. Lucy had been surprisingly quiet the entire trip. The flight attendents acctually liked her...

They grabbed their luggage and headed out side. Lucy was looking around, trying to take in everything her three month old eyes allowed her too.

"There you are!" Jacob was tackled by his mother with an embrace. She hugged the other two also before smiling at Lucy in Jacob's arms.

"This must be Lucy." She said. Jacob nodded and passed the baby over to his mother. Lucy smiled a bit and giggled at Alex. Alex smiled back and her index finger brushed her cheek lightly.

"Poor little girl. Not even four months old and already has had a horrible life." Alex said. She hugged the baby close and smiled at her children.

"Come on. Your horses are mad at you. And I'm sure the rest of the family will want to meet their new sister. Ginny and Jewel are at home setting up for a welcome home party for her." She said. Jacob smiled and Alex reluctantly passed Lucy off to Jacob so she could drive.

    When they arrived back at the ranch, Jacob unbuckled Lucy from her carseat and carried her out. When he stepped out of the SUV, Chevy greeted him by an angry neigh, followed by Coal and Mist's angry neighs. Alex wasn't kidding, their horses really were mad at them. At the sound of the horses, Lucy jumped slightly in Jaocb's arms and she looked over at the barn, her lips making the 'O' shape as she wondered what could have made the sound. Jacob laughed and kissed her on her cheek.

"You're one funny kid, Luce." He said. She looked back at hhim at the sound of his voice.

    Inside the house, there was everyone they knew, there to welcome the baby to her new home. Lucy was passed around between family members. Ginny was very pleased to finally have a sister on her fathers side. While Jacob watched as his baby sister laughed and giggled at the sight of people, Brook came up to Jacob and hugged him tightly.

"I'm so sorry, Jake." She whispered to him, resting her chin on his shoulder. He let out a sigh and kissed her forehead.

"Thanks. It's been rough. But Hayley and my dad didn't leave Lucy and I empty handed. in Hayley's will, she left us over three hundred grand in cash. James counted it for fun. And we get the money from the house and car too once it's sold." He said. Her jaw dropped and she stared at him in wonder.

"Wow! That's college and a bunch more right there!" She said. He nodded.

"Yeah. I guess I was wrong all those years when I thought they hated me." He said. Brook smiled a bit and kissed him on his lips. They kissed for a few moments until they heard James walkem by, and he mumbled to them to get a room. Jacob couldn't resist the urge to punch him and he punched James in the arm, sadly not as hard as he wanted too, but enough to get his point through. Brook laughed as James walked away holding his arm in pain. She kissed him again and they went back to enjoying thhe party.
