Brook was sitting in English the next day. She had it third period, and was quite irritated that Nikki was in that same class. But on the plus side, both Lily and Daniella were with her. The teacher had just given them some free time, and she was taking the time to talk to Lily and Daniella when Nikki came over, looking distraught.

"Brook, I am so sorry about your break up with Jacob." She said. Brook sat up a little straighter and rose an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about? Jake and I are still dating." She said. Daniella and Lily were looking at Nikki curiously too. Nikki bit her lip.

"He was talking about it in math yesterday. That he was still in love with a girl back in Florida. Sara, I think her name was. I overheard him talking to Danny Felmont saying he was going to break up with you today in first period, that he was still dating a girl back in Florida and said that it was too much work, trying to keep two girls happy." She placed her hand over her heart, as if she felt bad for Brook. Brook couldn't believe what she was hearing. Lily and Daniella looked over at Brook. "I'm sorry." Nikki said before walking away. Brook could feel tightness in her throat and felt tears we'll up in her eyes.

"Brook? What are you going to do?" Lily asked. She let out a shuddering breath and looked over at her best friends.

"I'm gonna talk to him tonight. we're going to their house to study with them tonight any way. I'll pull him into the barn and try to get him to talk." She said. Daniella rubbed Brooks arm.

"I'm sorry Brook. We should have seen it coming. He comes from the city, and his dad never paid any attention too him. He seems like the bad boy type." She said. Brook glared at her.

"It might not be true, Danni. We heard about this from Nikki." Lily and Daniella nodded heir agreement.

"Then let's just act normal until tonight when you talk to him." She said.

    At lunch, that afternoon, they acted the complete opposite of normal though. Brook was tense as Jacob put an arm around her waist as he ate. Daniella and Lily kept glaring at him and wouldn't speak. five minutes before the bell, They left without a word.

"What's their problem?" Jacob scoffed as they gave him the evil eye as they walked away.

"Jacob, when we get to your house, we need to talk." She said. His eyebrows went up and he bit his lip.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked. She shook her head.

"No. but I just need to talk to you alone." She said. She continued to eat without another word. Jacob gave James a shrug and they al headed off to class.

         Brook pulled Jacob into the barn that evening, and stared at him for a moment while she thought of what she was going to say. Before she could think, she blurted it out.

"Are you cheating on me?!?" She asked. He rose an eyebrow and shook his head.

"No, why would you say that?" He asked.

"Then who's Sara?" She asked folding her arms. Jacob rolled hhis eyes.

"My ex who refuses to give up on me even though I dumped her months ago." He said. He eyed her curiously. "How did you know about her?"

"Nikki said she overheard you and Danny Felmont talking about how you were going to break up with me because you were still dating a Florida chick and it was too hard keeping two girls happy at once." She said quickly. He scoffed a bit.

"I don't even like Danny, and would never tell him anything, and why would you listen to Nikki at all?" he said. Broom shrugged.

"I don't know. So you're not going to break up with me for some Florida city girl?" She asked. He shook his head.

"I can't stand Sara. She was for show, really, I was the Quarterback and she was the head cheerleader. People kind of expected us to get together. But I dumped her because I was mad that she was the reason I got shipped out here." He said. She sat down on a hay bail and began to fiddle with a stick.

"How?" She asked. He let out a deep sigh and sat down next to her.

"She and my buds stole some cigarettes from her dad. She pressured me into smoking. My step mom smelt it on me and I was in Nevada before I knew it." He said. Brook bit her lip.

"Would you have done it if she hadn't pressured you into it?" She asked. He shook his head.

"No." He said. She let out a sigh of relief and he smiled, taking his hand. "Brook, I had told my self I wasn't going to hurt you. The Night of Daniellas shin dig when Tommy dumped Mil, I vowed to myself I was never going to hurt. And I will never go back on that promise." He lifted her hand up to his lips and kissed her knuckles. She smiled a bit at the gesture. "I love you, Brook Scott." Her words were lost and she blushed fiercely. "And that's the first time I've ever said that to a girl." He said. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him on his lips. When she pulled back she had tears in her eyes.

"I love you too."

    Brook and Jacob had been gone for a good ten minutes now, and they had to get their homework done, so James and Lily headed down to the barn to see why they were taking so long. James opened up the door and their jaws dropped as they saw Brook on Jacob's lap, and they were kissing passionately. James bit lip and looked at Lily, who had her arms folded and was tapping her foot. She cleared her throat to get their attention and Brook pulled away, blushing a dark shade of red when she saw James and Lily.

"So I take it the talk went well?" She asked. Brook gave her a small smile.

"I told you we shouldn't have listened to Nikki." She said. Lily smiled a bit.

"Come on you two, we need to finish our homework, then you can swallow each other." She said walking away from the two of them who were both blushing fiercely.

   The next day at school, The two of them walked into Biology hand in hand, and getting many confused glances.

"I heard he was cheating on her?" Someone whispered.

"I heard he was going back to Florida to be with some cheerleader." Another whispered. They paid no attention too them and took their usual seats in the back. Jacob gave her a sly smile and she rolled her eyes as he kissed her on her cheek. They received several gasps and she gave him a smirk. It was going to be a fun day.
