Part 6
Naruto stared out into the sunset from atop the fourth Hokage's head. A headache began to take form and bared its nasty teeth, as it ranged from an ache, to an excruciating migraine. The blond wasn't the type to complain of headaches, but he decided this one would be worth complaining about, if anyone had been around. But he was alone, so that only left him with the option of talking to stone.
"Oh," a voice said suddenly, startling Naruto. He turned to find, to his disgust, Sasuke Uchiha standing behind him, eyes slightly widened.
"Hey," Naruto said awkwardly, hoping the guy would leave. He'd been in Konoha for a week and had successfully avoided running into Sasuke, Kiba, Sakura and all them, so why did the jerk have to be there? Besides, that was his spot, not Sasuke's. Sasuke shouldn't be there. How did he even know about it?
"I wasn't expecting anyone to be up here," Sasuke said, surprising Naruto. The blond didn't think the raven would speak, especially not so many words.
"Uh, same here," Naruto said, mentally smacking himself for saying anything. He should have just copied Sasuke from all those years ago and said "Hn." The two remained in an awkward silence, just standing on the fourth Hokage's head, observing each other.
"Who are you?" Sasuke finally said, hard eyes drilling into Naruto. Sasuke had narrowed his eyes and reached back to his weapons. "The Hokage may trust you, but I don't. To my knowledge, only a few have come up here."
"So what? It's just a place." Naruto shrugged and sat down, crossing his legs. "'sides, shouldn't you trust your Hokage?"
"She can be too trusting," Sasuke said, making Naruto snort. "And it isn't just a place. The only people that have been up here are myself, Hinata Hyuga, Shikamaru, Sakura, you and this other guy. It's not a place for you."
"Does it matter, really? You mentioned this Shikamaru, a person I don't know, but you didn't name this other guy. I'm assuming he wasn't too important, and since I'm not too important either, I'd say I can stay here."
"You can't!" Sasuke's jaw clenched. "The other guy left the village, that's why I didn't mention his name." The blond stared at Sasuke, slightly amused. The jerk was flustered.
"Missing nin?" Naruto asked, curious if Sauske considered him one. A flash of pink caught the blond's eyes, and he found Sakura standing behind Sasuke. She'd apparently heard the whole conversation, as she was glaring daggers into Naruto.
"No!" she shrieked annoyingly. "He's still one of us! He's more important than you and always will be! This is his spot so leave!"
"You seem doubtful of that statement. Are you sure he isn't a missing nin?" Naruto leaned back onto his hands and stared at Sakura with a smirk. He really had seen the doubt in her eyes and wondered what they all thought of his disappearance.
"Yes, I'm sure! He would never betray our village! Naruto isn't like that!" She stopped and took a deep breath, looking to try and calm herself. Naruto stood and patted her on the shoulder, nodding his approval.
"What a coincedence. My name is Naruto too." He smiled at the two of them and jumped away, knowing to them it looked as if he was just gone. When he was a fair distance away, he stopped and looked in their direction. Now why in the world would they say what they did? Sasuke had gotten flustered, and Sakura had yelled at him for calling himself a missing nin. Last he knew, to them he was a monster. He eventually sighed and shook his head. He'd find out later. First he had a job to do.
