Naruto shut the last book and sat back, examining the stack that reached maybe a foot or so. They were huge books, heavy, filled with knowledge, yet they knew nothing of what he was trying to find. Nothing of his condition that was taking over. Not like he'd been expecting anything. Of everything Naruto knew of his condition, it was that it wasn't normal. It seemed nothing about him was.

"Huh? Naruto? Why are you here?" a familiar voice asked, and Naruto turned to find Kakashi staring at him.

"Oh, I was just researching some stuff," Naruto muttered, gathering the books he'd gotten and rushed to get them back.

"Medical books?" Kakashi questioned, of course having seen them. "Are you sick or something? Need Shizune?"

"No, and don't tell anyone about this, okay? Now, did you need me or anything, or were you just here?" Naruto ignored the strange look Kakashi gave him and finished shelving the last few books.

"Well, someone came to visit you and I was sent to find you, but you better tell me why you needed medical books." Kakashi sent Naruto a warning glare, telling him he would kill him if he didn't.

"Who is this visitor?" Naruto asked, trying to dodge the question. Kakashi narrowed his eyes at him, and the blond sighed. "You'll find out soon, so wait till then."

"No, you're telling me now, and I'll decide if it's safe for you to go out there," Kakashi said, smirking.

Naruto rolled his eyes, and suddenly froze. He whirled to Kakashi. "Wait a minute! You recognize me?"

Kakashi burst out laughing. "You're so slow!"

"Where in the world have you been? I haven't seen you since coming here. And you know me?" Naruto was feeling stupid, talking with the man as he had years earlier.

"I was on a mission, and kid, everyone knows you now. That's why that Gaara's here, looking ready to kill you. Never thought you two would be friends, but I guess some stuff changed while you were gone. You should get over there and make sure he doesn't kill anyone, though. He's like a walking bomb."

"Wait, everyone knows who I am? How?" Naruto plopped down on his seat, for the moment disregarding the information about Gaara.

"Well yeah. I wasn't there, but I guess when Hinata got injured, someone called your name and boom, everyone knows you." Kakashi shrugged.

"Seriously? Ugh," Naruto groaned. He hadn't seen anyone who didn't already know who he was since, so he hadn't realized.

"Yeah. But really, you should go make sure Gaara doesn't kill anyone. But, you're going to tell me later why you needed those books, cause I know it's not for nothing. Now come on." Kakashi took the lead, Naruto following, grumbling something about how annoying and nosy Kakashi was.

When Naruto caught sight of the red head, his first instinct was to hide. Knowing that that intense anger was directed at him turned all his bravery to mush, and the blond pulled Kakashi in front of him. Naruto knew Gaara well, and fully knew that he could kill him in an instant when he was angry. Even when he wasn't he could. But Naruto also knew Gaara knew near everything about him, including his condition, so Naruto hoped he would go easy on him, and maybe not kill him.

Taking a deep breath, Naruto ran over to the steaming red head, arm raised in greeting. "Hey, Gaara! NIce to see you again!" The next moment, Naruto was on the ground, tackled by the furious Gaara.

"Give a good reason why I shouldn't kill you," Gaara hissed. "I haven't quite forgiven you for that trick you pulled."

"Ah, that," Naruto said nervously. "No hard feelings? I'm your friend so you shouldn't kill me. And I had to do that last time."

"No, you didn't. I could have helped you, you know, but what did you do? Knocked me out. Dumb move, Naruto."

"Oh come on, I was looking out for you. He said no eyes, so I had to. I'm sorry I had to do it a painful way, but I wasn't about to let him kill you, got it?" Naruto pushed Gaara off of him and stood up, waiting as Gaara stood too. "Friends?" Instead of answering, Gaara pulled him into a short hug and then promptly walked away.

Naruto glanced back to Kakashi, who had watched the exchange, and followed after Gaara.

Ok, first things first. Have I had Kakashi in there before? I don't remember adding him in, but I hardly trust my memory, so have I? I'm sorry if I have (also sorry if I haven't cause I love kakashi), and I'll delete this part and rewrite it. And yeah, I soooo love Gaara! He's one of my favorite characters in Naruto.

I just read this book, it's part of a trilogy, and it was really good in my opinion. I loved it to death, and it wasn't one of those sappy romance ones, so, yeah I really loved it. BUT, I read the first book before I got the other two...It ends with a cliffhanger...and it's awful. And I'm so depressed and can't STOP thinking about that book! I NEED THE OTHER TWO! Don't you hate when that happens?
