ch. 7
•'* FEEL THAT FIRE, IT BURNS •'*
Months had gone by, and Adalinda and Legolas, along with Thranduil, had grown closer than before. Today she would venture with Legolas to find Tauriel as she had left the kingdom to find some dwarves. The princess knew they were of Durin folk; their scent was familiar. But, unfortunately, she hadn't gotten the chance to meet them after so many years. But she would, soon, she knew.
"See anything, Adalinda?" Legolas said as he walked up beside Adalinda. The two of them had followed the scent of the dwarves as well as Tauriel for hours now. "Nothing but the smell of orcs are close. Keep alert," she says to say and runs off, with Legolas at her heels. After about 15 minutes or longer, the smell of Tauriel is strong. "She's close," she says to Legolas and quickens her pace. Soon enough, they both spot Tauriel as it seems she's looking for something.
The princess draws her bow, and so do Legolas. Tauriel, hearing movement, nocks her arrow, and in one motion, she turns aorund and sees Legolas armed with a hand. She smiles but doesn't love her bow. I thought you were an orc." She says. Suddenly, an arrow is to her throat, making the female elf stiff. A kind and familiar voice say next to her ear. "If we were, you've been dead," Adalinda says and moves the arrow away from the red-haired elleth and goes up to stand beside Legolas, who goes down while saying.
"Tauriel, you cannot hunt 30 orcs on your own" this got both females to smirk. "But I'm not alone," Tauriel says cheekily, and Legolas smiles. "You knew we would come," he stated. The elleth nods with a small smile gracing her lips, making Adalinda smile too. Legolas smiles before he turns serious in a matter of seconds. " The king is angry, Tauriel. For 600 years, my father has protected you, favored you. You defied his orders; you betrayed his trust." Legolas says and then switches to elvish when tauriel doesn't answer. "Dandolo na nin...e gohenatha." the princess sighs, laying a hand on the prince's shoulder. "Legolas, she cants. She must find the dwarf. let her follow her heart" both elves are surprised at your words, but tauriel then speaks. "The king has never let orc-filth from our lands, yet he would let this orc-pack cross our borders and kill our prisoners." Legolas sighs, and Adalinda say softly, "the she-elf is right, Mellon. this is our fight. It will not end here. With every victory, this evil will grow. If your father has his way, we will do nothing. We will hide within our walls, live our lives away from the light, and let darkness descend. Are we not part of this world?" Legolas looks at Adalinda; worry shines in his eyes.
"tell us, Mellon. When did we let evil become stronger than us?" tauriel ends. Legolas looks conflicted at the two females he knows to speak right. "okay. We will do it your way," he says, a determined look across his face. Both Adalinda and a Tauriel smiles, and the 3 start their path to Laketown.

Soon enough, they had found a way to cross the water and reached lake town at the ere of the morning. The princess felt distressed energy grom one of the houses, so Adalinda and legos and tauriel wnt to that house. Adalinda heard the familiar screeched of orcs. She growled and motioned for Legolas and tauriel to engage. She burst through the door and killed an orc in one swift blow. tauriel did the same, and Legolas jumped down from the hole in the roof, probably some of the orcs had made. Amid the fighting, you felt the familiar presence of the dwarves. Adalinda got happy and fought harder. Soon enough, some remaining orcs fled, and Legolas was bout to run to the door when she heard the pained scream of kili. It broke her heart to listen to her best friend in pain.
She stopped and turned to him. tauriel, who had met the dwarf before, stopped too. "tauriel, Adalinda," Legolas said before running off after the orcs. adalinda and tauriel looked at each other, and she nodded. "he'll be fine," she said and turned to where Kili laid on one table, tossing around in pain. "we're losing him!" Oin exclaimed. adalinda looked at tauriel and nodded again before heading out just as Bofur came running up the stairs. "bofur!" she cried, and he jumped. Then, when he saw it was you, he smiled. "adalinda!" he exclaimed. "give me kingsfoil," Adalinda said and gestured that he should give her what he had in his hands. he did, and she hurried inside, applying the plant on the wound kili had got.
He yelled in pain, but she used her power, and it calmed him down. tauriel stood and watched along with the dwarves. After a few minutes, the pain succumbed before vanishing completely. The wound healed. "there, be careful next time, kili," adalinda said kindly and walked away from him so that his friends and bother could see to him. "you are something else, in Mellon," tauriel said with a small smile. Adalinda chuckled and patted her shoulder. "go," you said and gestured with her head over to kili. tauriel did as she said, and you watched as the two of them murmured.
"you're back," Fili said from beside her. Adalinda looked down at him with a smile. "yes, I am. Tell me, how's throin and the others? I heard you have a burglar in your company." she said. Fili nodded.

Cliff hanger cause I have another thing on my mind right now but don't worry, I'll continue with this story.
"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." — J.R.R. Tolkien
