She Keeps The Faith Alive II

One week since dinner*

What happened between Becky and Travis the night she invited him over was a huge stepping stone in rekindling their relationship and building each other back up.

The couple knew they both enjoyed each others time since they laughed, they smiled, they slowly felt the love when they were in each other's presence.

But once they left each other's sights, Becky felt like she wanted him to stay longer. She still wants her husband back, she wants her family back as quick as possible.

Travis is willing to work to get to that point, but wants to go slow so they don't rush into their relationship. He's afraid, but he's not willing to admit it.

There have been a few other people that are hoping they can get back on track and live out their lives together as a big family. Some people like Charlotte, AJ, Travis's sister Katie, but most importantly someone really wants and needs them back together; Alexis.

Their own daughter have been questioning on why her daddy wasn't home like usual, or asking why her mommy was sad whenever she would talk about her daddy.

Her little mind was spinning and Becky knows how hard it can be for her to comprehend it all, but that's also why Travis and Becky agreed to not tell her everything until everything is set in stone.

Fast forward the week after the dinner*

Travis still hasn't been on TV for WWE even though his final match at Wrestlemania is less than five weeks away. Luckily Bray is doing most of the hype work while Travis figures out his life and career, with the whole thing with Becky and now finishing up his contract with WWE.

Now his life also taking a turn as Katie, his own sister is now turning her back towards Travis since she wants them to get back together quickly for the kids sake. He understands where she comes from but he doesn't feel comfortable with moving that quickly.

At Katie's*

8:30 pm*

Travis is sitting in the back watching the sun set while his nephew play around in the grass with his hot wheels.

Once Travis was done with an interview for an upcoming piece that AEW is working on about him, he stopped at the hobby store and found many that he would love.

That's where Katie has another problem, and he's about to hear an ear full of it.

Travis: sips drink* You like the big trucks, Ben?

Benjamin: Yes! Thanks Uncle Trav!

He smiled back at his nephew just as the back sliding opened and closed, then he heard the high heels of his sister walking behind him get closer. That's when Katie then walked in front of him and sat down, still putting her earrings in.

Katie: Thanks again for watching him.

Travis: No problem.

Katie: quickly interrupts* So have you told Becky about the AEW work you've been doing?

Travis: Woah, uhm no. I haven't told her about my contract with them.

Katie: Just another thing that could keep you two from getting back to normal.

Travis: Kat, where is this coming from?

Katie: You and Becky could be back together if you weren't so scared of commitment!

He immediately looked at her with a concern on his face as she snapped at him for no apparent reason.

Travis: I'm not scared of commitment. We've been married for how many years? We have two kids? We were literally always near each other.

Katie: But you still keeping secrets from her isn't going to help?

Travis: This has nothing to do with the new company.

Katie: It will once the topic of how you'll support your family comes up.

Travis: Wow-

Katie: interrupts again* Thanks again for watching Ben, be back later.

She then got up, walked over to her son, kissed his cheek and then continued to walk from the backyard patio to back inside the house.

It wasn't long before he could overhear the garage door open and close, which ment that Katie has gone on her long awaited date.

Travis: sigh* Just you and I tonight, buddy.

While he watched his nephew, Travis then started to plan what their night was going to become. From getting him into the Star Wars scene, they were going to watch most of them in order. Or at least until Ben or even Travis falls asleep.

Their night then started an hour later which then didn't last long as Benjamin's eyes couldn't keep him awake past one movie.

Travis then put him to bed, finished another adult beverage and headed to bed himself.

1 am*

Travis fell asleep around ten and has been in a deep sleep. No dreaming, nothing to disturb him.

What he doesn't know is he's about to get a rude awaking.

Loud knocks*

Travis still sleeping through it, but the knocks got progressively louder.

Bang bang bang*

The last bang against the bedroom door jolted him awake and now he was alert and hearing his phone blow up with the door still knocking.

He hasn't checked his phone as he quickly sat up and could hear a voice come from the door.

Katie: Travis! You need to wake up!

Bang bang bang*

Travis: Kat?

He said while throwing the covers off, forgetting his sweatpants and quickly walked in his shirt and boxers to the door. Grabbing the door handle and unlocking it, he felt someone overpower the door handle and opened it herself.

The bright light from the hallway blinded him but Katie barged in which caught a half awake Travis.

Travis: Woah, Kat. It's one in the morning.

Katie: Do you have your phone on silent mode or something? Take this and talk to your wife.

She quickly handed over her phone and could hear a lot going on from the other end of the line.

Travis: now has Katie's phone* Hello? Becks?

Becky: Trav! Quickly breathing* It's Alexis! Beep* Boop*

Travis: Alexis? What about her? What's going on?

He was going to question where she was since there were so many beeping sounds and could overhear his little girl whine in the background.

But trying to get anything out of his wife, he could also tell she's shaking on the other end of the line.

Becky: We were *breathing heavily* and Alexis.. Hip problem *continues to breathe heavy*

With his wife almost hyperventilating, he just needs to know where to go to see his little girl during this distress.

Travis: Ok, Becks. Listen to me. Calm down. Where are you right now?

Becky: exhales* Back of an ambulance.

Just hearing the word "ambulance" sent chills and pain down his spine; especially whenever it involves a friend or family member.

Travis: Ambulance? Ok, ok. What hospital are you going to? And where's Jackson?

Becky: sniffs* John Hopkins Children's Hospital. Ashley has Jackson.

Travis: Ok, I'm on my way!

Becky: I'll call you once we get into a room.

Travis: Please!

They both then quickly hung up and now Travis was in dad mode. He threw Katie's phone back at her who was still standing in the doorway watching her brother quickly find a clean pair of sweatpants and a shirt.

With him now dressed, he quickly grabbed his phone, wallet and keys and out the door no questions asked.

Travis knew where the Children's hospital was since WWE have visited there multiple times.

Just this time he was going there for the worst thing possible; going for the health of his little girl.

Speeding down the highway*

Luckily with it being late into the night, nobody was really out and about since it was a Sunday night. With the work week starting back up, the city was a bit quiet for Tampa traffic.

Travis in his truck was doing well over the speed limit as he flew from the suburbs to downtown Tampa towards the children's hospital. Mid drive, Becky had messaged Travis what floor and room they were currently in.

Then the final text before he pulled into the parking garage was,

"Currently awaiting on the doctor to schedule surgery"

Still not knowing what was going on, he quickly paid for parking, locked his truck and ran into the side doors of the hospital and quickly found an elevator.

Once on the right floor, Travis quickly maneuvered around the hospital following all the arrows and directions planting him into the emergency room of the hospital.

Alexis's hospital room*

Travis made it to the right room, saw the door was closed but not latched. He walked up, knocked lightly and slowly opened it to see Becky sitting by the bed where their little girl laid.

IV in her arm, all tucked in with more wires hanging out from the side of the bed monitoring her vitals.

Alexis was asleep since the pain killers were helping her get some sleep as her doctors decide on a decision.

Becky looked up and saw Travis walk in. She let go of Alexis's hand, walked around her bed and was immediately in her husbands arms.

It caught Travis off guard a little but he embraced her as she started to cry a little bit since she was in the thick of the emotional roller coaster they've been through that night.

Travis: Hey. Shh shh shh.

Becky: stops crying a little*

Travis: Becks, what happened?

Becky: leans away from her husbands chest* So, we were at Ashley and Allen's tonight for a cook out. Jackson and Alexis crashed early. Ash and I were still up when I overheard Alexis cry.

That broke Travis's heart that she had to go through this alone as a one person parent during it.

Becky: I ran into their spare bedroom where they were sleeping and saw her leg severely bruised. And I don't remember her hitting anything to cause that but over time watching her, I could see it grow a little. We called nine one one immediately and they brought her in.

Travis: Is it what I think it is?

Becky: The doctor told me it's her hip, again.

Travis looked down and sighed as he was hoping her hip problems were a one and done when she was a kid. But what he doesn't know is the damage throughout the years have done to what they "tried" to fix when she was a kid.

Once she was still a toddler they went in and made sure her hip joint would stay in place while she grew, but it seems like throughout the years it's caused more damage than help.

Since she's also still very young that also worries Travis. He remembers reading on when it was her first surgery about children and anesthesia. Worried sad mode comes in effect once again for everything in hospitals.

10 minutes of him being there*

Travis is sitting on one side of the bed as Becky sat on the other of their sleeping daughter. Luckily she is sleeping and not looking around and wondering what is happening while dealing with pain.

Just before Travis could get anything out of his wife, Alexis's main doctor came in with news.

Doctor: Travis, Becky. I would like to schedule Alexis for immediate surgery first thing in the morning.

Travis: So soon? Is it serious?

Doctor: Not yet, but can be life threatening if we don't operate.

Becky: runs her fingers through Alexis's hair* My poor baby girl.

Doctor: We ran a scan as soon as she got here and saw that her hip joint they tried to keep from dislocating so early on, cracked throughout her childhood energy. Could've happened from running around, playing and jumping. But it's made a fracture where it cannot heal naturally. This injury will need surgery.

Travis: You say it can be life threatening?

Doctor: The bruise Becky pointed out is internal bleeding where her fractured joint has caused damage. We're unsure where the bleeding is but believe it's not from any artery damage.

Alexis's parents listened more and more from the doctor, now turning into their daughters surgeon as they were provided with more information.

The next morning*

Picture the room of a hospital room, Alexis still asleep as monitors were beeping with her vitals. Mom, Becky was curled up in the big hospital bed with her. Dad, Travis was reclined up with the chair and a pillow on his back.

Not the sleep they both figured they'd have that night but one they didn't want.

Everyone is still sleeping but Travis set an alarm an hour before their daughters surgery. It was a tough sleep as Travis fought all night to get comfortable physically and mentally. He's worried for his little girl and doesn't know what the outcome could be.

Moments before they come grab Alexis*

Travis and Becky were awake but Alexis was still asleep. Both parents were just sitting next to their little girl.

Nurses walked in and started to prep her for surgery, and eventually wheeled her out. Becky wanted to follow but the double doors to the operating room were right outside her room. Travis and Becky did watch from the double door windows as they wheeled her into the room and now the hall was empty.

Just before Becky could be hit hard by her feelings, Travis quickly came with an idea to keep her mind clear.

Travis: They said it could be a couple hours. Wanna go down and get breakfast? Maybe walk around and talk?

He watched his wife, still cross armed from being worried turn around and smile at him. Becky nodded in agreement to his ideas and they were on their way down to the cafeteria on the main floor.

10 minutes later*

Down in the hospital cafeteria*

Travis and Becky just got out from the grub line where they had their breakfast food. Him, a greasy egg and sausage croissant sandwich and her, a little muffin and a plate of fixed eggs.

He walked her over to a table that overlooked the garden area of the hospital. The couple sat down and started to dig into their breakfast. Little small talk was brought up about Alexis's doctor and progress.

Then Becky stopped and changed the subject quickly.

Becky: Trav? Can I ask you something?

Travis: Yeah, what's up?

Becky: silent but looking at him in the eyes*

They were both now staring at each other and paused on the eating.

Travis: Are you alright?

Becky: I've been thinking, and I couldn't sleep last night because of it.

Travis: Yeah?

Becky: So last night was terrifying. With having Alexis in pain broke me but doing all this alone hurts.

Travis: ...

He couldn't respond since she was right, and he couldn't say anything to make an excuse.

Becky: I need my husband back in the house, the kids need their dad back.

It caught him off guard a little bit but he didn't disagree with her.

Travis: Yeah, I get it. But we're still working on ourselves.

Becky: I know, but we can work together back at home.

He knew that this was plead for him to come back home and start their lives over again, as a family.

Travis: I've been thinking of moving back.

Just as those words were said Beckys face immediately light up with happiness and joy.

Something was in the back of her mind on what just happened. That was a huge step forward into becoming the family they are.

Travis was always hesitant on talking to Becky about moving back into the house since he thought it was rushing.

But something is slowly changing inside and he's leaning more into the same game that his wife is in.

Travis: So, how's Kilo?

Becky: Missing his daddy.

Travis: I'll come over and grab him for a run.

Becky: Yes. Tire him out, please!

They both chuckled a bit while continuing the small talk while news was coming their way.

A couple hours later*

With Alexis moments from being wheeled out of the operating room, Becky and Travis were walking around the hospital talking about each other's lives. Catching each other up.

Becky: So Vince called me into his office the other day.

Travis: Let me guess, an extension offer?

Becky: Three more years.

He heard a little crack in her voice as if she was debating on riding out her contract and leaving.

Travis: What did you do?

Becky: I told him I would look it over with Mark (their wrestling manager) then get back at him.

Travis: Gotcha.

He fell silent as she has no idea what his plan is. Nobody knows what Travis will be doing at the end of this Wrestlemania hype tour.

Becky: Have you resigned?

Travis: I.. have not.

She jolted a bit as if she was shocked and surprised. Since joining WWE together, they both told each other that they would retire there.

Becky: You didn't resign!?

Travis: Nope.

Becky: Are you going to resign? Travis, you have to think about what they can do. They have you past your contract from your injury years ago. They can keep you for longer.

Travis: No they can't. This is my cash out. I'm currently not on my original contract, I'm on my leave extension.

Becky: Oh..

Travis: I may take some time off. I may resign. I don't know what I'll do, honestly.

He had to throw her off since he has a full ride with All Elite Wrestling after Mania.

Becky: I couldn't see you going somewhere else.

Travis: ...

Becky then giggled it off a little as they both rounded the corner into Alexis's room where both started calling their side of the families, notifying them that their little girl is having a immediate procedure done.

Both of their parents called for updates and Katie texted Travis telling him that she would be up when she gets out of surgery.

The next morning*

The previous night, Alexis was wheeled back into her child theme recovery room where she starts her long road to recovery.

Travis and Becky thought they would be able to leave the same day this happened but the doctor noticed that there was more damage done that needed reconstructed, so they were keeping an eye on her while she started recovery.

09:00 am Becky wakes up*

She lifted her head from the uncomfortable hospital couch, looked around and didn't see her husband. When she finally got up, she could see his head laying next to and on Alexis's bed. His hand on her little hand that had the IV in it.

Becky always takes photos of little moments that these two have, and usually she posts it but she took this one for herself. She could see the dad in Travis, showing protection over his little girl.

Heart filling with love quickly made her smile but also wish he was back with the family in the house.

As the day continued, they were finally able to discharge her and get their baby home.

Travis drove slow and carefully as he had both Becky and Alexis with them. Becky sat in the back with their daughter as they pulled up to their house. Last time Travis was here was for dinner, where things got a little closer for him and his wife.

It's brining good and bad memories to his head, but the bad was being overran by the good.

That night*

Travis and Becky cooked their little family a nice, soft foods dinner and got the little ones ready for bed.

Jackson was fast asleep after having a long day at his god mother's house.

Nobody outside both sides of their families, and Ashley knows what happened with Alexis; They hope to keep it that way.

Travis is starting to become more protective about his private life and is slowing down on updating the whole world on everyone.

Becky keeps it nice and private. If the kids are in photos, they're not even facing the camera. The only time they have shown the kids faces is for special occasions like holidays or updated family photos.

Alexis's surgery doesn't need to become news for the wrestling media world.

Now, back to the house where Travis carried his little girl up. Becky met them up there as she did her checks on Jackson, turning on his baby monitor and closing his door not latching.

Alexis was given small doses of pain killers, just enough for a child her size. Both her parents snuck it into her applesauce and she was out like a light.

Laying her down in her bed, Travis and Becky watched her sleep for a bit before kissing her forehead goodnight.

Downstairs*

Travis walked out the back where Kilo was, running around and burning off his energy quickly. He grabbed the ball and threw it, which kept the dog occupied while he went into his mini fridge outside on the deck.

Travis: Shit, these are probably flat.

Pshh* went the beer as the cap flew off, and surprisingly was still good.

He polished one off as Becky walked out in her comfy clothes. Travis saw she was wearing one of his old Ring of Honor shirts, and his heart raced as he eyed her up and down.

Quickly snapping out of it as she walked over and sat next to him.

Becky: They're both out.

Travis: Perfect.

It then went quiet and grew awkward as they were just sitting in silence in the Florida wind.

That was until Becky broke the silence with about his future with the company.

Becky: Hey. So what are you planning with work?

Travis: Like if I don't resign?

Becky: Yeah.

Again, having to throw her off a little to keep the secret a secret.

Travis: I could go to Japan, back to Ring of Honor, maybe try the independent scene. Or I could come home and be a stay at home dad for a while before going back.

Becky: You'd stay at home, again? Didn't the itch get to you last time?

Travis: That's because I didn't have a choice. Now I do.

She agreed with him and got his stance on the whole ordeal, but still can't believe he would leave.

Just before they both went their separate ways for the evening, Travis darted towards the living room.  Exit followed where she saw he made a bed for himself on the couch.

Becky: Trav? Are you staying here?

Travis: Of course. I can't leave her alone while recovering.

Becky: So does that mean you'll be here until she's back to normal?

Travis: Yes, Becks.

He continued to make his bed, and while doing that Becky was jumping for joy in her mind. Her whole body was filled with love since he'll be home for good.

Meaning during Alexis's whole recovery, they'll still be doing couples counseling and working on themselves to get back to normal.

Travis may just end up moving back to make sure everyone's alright back at home.

But just before Becky was heading to bed, Travis finished up making his bed and turned around to see his wife having the biggest smile on her face.

Travis: What's up?

Becky: Nothin.. just happy that you're home!

That made him crack a smile, but what shocked him and made it a little bigger was what Becky did. She kissed his cheek while running her hand down his other cheek.

It caught him off guard but he wasn't going to stop what was happening.

Becky: pulls back* Goodnight, Trav.

Travis: Night, Becks.

He watched her walk up the stairs and into their bedroom.

There was some sort of feeling throughout his body. It was like love but something else.

Safety. He finally felt like at home.

Because he was back home. Where he belonged.
