Face To Face

Continuing from the previous chapter*

A couple days have passed since Travis and Becky's heated couples counseling session. Just talking about how bad Travis made their situation killed him on the inside, and there has been more that has made him feel bad about.

Once Travis went to bed the night after telling his side of the situation involving Lexi, he laid there all night just thinking of how much of a nightmare he has been towards Becky.

With him taking her dreams and making her have doubts to end up doing the same thing.

One incident involves him going back to when he was general manager of RAW. He took the opportunity away for Becky to keep her titles once she was injured, even though deep down inside, he knew he could let her rest like previous champions before.

Then comes to when he had his "Opperation One Up Her" where it involved Travis coming back and taking the Universal and WWE title, to also double brand and be like Becky when she held both brands.

Making himself think that over that night brought thoughts of how he acted when figuring out she cheated, he was a huge tool against her. Acting childish, especially since they're parents and need to be responsible. He played back when he told his "still" wife that he slept with Lexi that one night, and how she reacted.

Becky didn't ignore him, she didn't go to Lexis house and fight her, she didn't get arrested, she didn't move on, she didn't do anything towards him to hurt him.

She was an adult and acted like it, and she surprisingly didn't go along with divorcing him instead.

Travis is very lucky that she didn't do much besides try and help each other, especially trying to get him to talk to her so they can become civil.

Couple days later*

Travis was still at Katie's as the road to Wrestlemania was right around the corner. WWE hasn't had much to do with Travis as Bray was doing most of the build up hype for their match.

He was notified by his agent that whenever they need him in person, they'll fly him out for a segment and send him home.

With news spreading throughout the locker room that he hasn't resigned has put a reason on why the company isn't sending Travis to their live show tours.

No reason to build more and more onto a storyline that will most likely end at the greatest stage of them all, plus they're keeping Travis healthy since he told them he was leaving the company for personal reasons.

What they don't know is that he's leaving for other reasons.

Friday Afternoon*

There Travis was, sitting outside of his sister's house in the backyard. Scrolling through his phone as his agent was letting him know what was going on.

Travis; Mark, I really don't want to talk about contracts with them. I've told Vince and Hunter, after Mania I'm gone.

Mark: I'm trying to tell them that but they keep upping the dollars and time.

Travis: They're doing that with new companies coming out and offering talent more money with flexibility to their schedules.

Mark: Speaking of that. Talked to Cody's team and whenever you're ready, they're ready to talk.

Travis: Sounds good. Let's finish this out and I'll take a month or two off to myself for this family, then we'll schedule a sit down; does that sound ok?

Mark: You're the client, my man. Whatever you say, goes.

Travis: And that's why you're a badass agent.

They continued to talk about their lives a little more before hanging up.

With it being passed noon in Tampa, Travis knew that his sister would be walking in through the door soon. But she'll be kid-less this time.

Becky has had the kids for a couple days after since she wanted to take them around and keep their mind clear.

After a couple times going back and forth from their house to Katie's, Alexis was starting to question what was going on and why her daddy wasn't home.

Becky didn't have the heart to tell her what was really going on, so she kept it short and sweet to make her not think things.

Their counciling coach, Amy had a suggestion to bring in Alexis since she's starting to ask questions. That crushed Becky's heart after she heard that kids could easily remember things that the parents hopefully think they won't remember.

Back with Travis*

He walked inside and put his phone down on the counter, music bluetoothed to the speakers in the kitchen.

Katie walks in*

She walked through the front door to see Travis, mid mouth singing the song, turned around and paused as she started to laugh a little.

Travis: turns down the song*

Katie: What are you doing?

Travis: Just jamming.

He continued to talk to her a little while grabbing another bottle of water and cracking it open.

His sister sat across from him on a stool at the counter and got into deep conversation.

Katie: So, I talked to Becky this morning over the phone.

Travis: Yeah?

Katie: She's having me take the kids for a little tonight.

Travis: She is? Ok, cool. Can't wait to see them.

Just before he took another swig of this water, she interrupted him and he froze midway.

Katie: You won't be here to see them.

Travis: Wait, what? Why?

Katie: She told me she'll call you later to ask you something.

Travis: Oh, uhm ok?

Katie: Nothing bad.

She then ended the conversation by getting up and walking to her room to change out of her scrubs.

Travis then replayed the music and continued to sit at the counter, at his computer replying to emails from people that will soon become important.

While doing that, he was wondering what Becky had on her mind.

With Becky*

Becky: Go get her Jackson!

She was sitting at the end of the back patio, watching her son chase her daughter in the backyard. Charlotte was sitting next to her watching the kids chase each other, then turned into chase Kilo around.

Charlotte: Look at them.

Becky: Happiest souls on this planet.

Charlotte: Awe.

She side hugged her friend and continued to talk a little.

Charlotte: Sorry I couldn't take them off your hands for tonight.

Becky: Oh, it's ok. Katie said she'd love to watch them.

Charlotte: What do you have planned?

Becky: Well, first I have to call Trav and see if he'll come over.

Charlotte: ...

Becky: Then I'll cook something, maybe lay out a few candles and hopefully just have a nice, face to face talk with him.

Charlotte: Thats what you two need. A sit down, alone just to air things out.

Becky: Air things out? Everything has came out, or atleast to my knowledge.

It was silent for a second as she came back to ask something.

Becky: You talk to him more, do you know anything else?

Charlotte: Not that I know of. What you've told me is basically the only thing I know.

Becky: Ok, good.

Charlotte could hear the tone in her voice change a little as that perked her up, probably thinking that there is nothing else that their each holding back.

Then they both got excited when Jackson caught up to Alexis and everyone went back inside.

A couple minutes later*

Charlotte had left and that left her mom duties to kick in as she was giving them their mid day snack while packing some stuff for their time that they'll have at Katie's.

With Travis being there now, they have now separated both of their toys so now they have some at the house while some at their aunts house.

After they finished their snacks, Becky put Jackson down for his nap and Alexis was still away, coloring in her WWE coloring book.

This time she was on the page that had Bayley and Sasha Banks in it.

Since she was now occupied, Becky went back into the living room, grabbed her phone and started to scroll through her contacts.

Didn't take her long to land on the one she still hasn't changed since this whole mess.

"Travis❤"

Click*

It only rang two times before hearing it stop with a deeper voice on the other side.

Travis: Hey, Becks.

She still gets goosebumps to this day on how he's back to calling her the little nickname he gave her

Travis: Whats up?

Becky: Nothing much. Just put Jackson down for his nap, and Alexis is coloring.

Travis: Sounds like an easy day.

Becky: smiles* Yeah, it's been good.

It was silent for just a couple seconds and she then finally asked what she wanted to ask last week before the breaking news.

Becky: Are you free tonight?

Knowing what she's been told by him during this situation with their relationship, she was expecting the same "I don't think this is a good idea" answer. But she was surprised.

Travis: Yeah, why? What's up?

Becky: Oh! Would you want to come over for dinner?

Without hesitation, she got an answer that made her smile over the phone.

Travis: Sure! What time? And what should I bring?

Becky: Say seven? And just yourself.

Travis: Perfect.

Becky: So I'll see you then?

Travis: Yep! See you soon!

They said their goodbyes and she hung up the phone, put her hand and phone up to her chest and smiled.

First time she has had a civil, and positive call with her husband in almost months.

But now she needed to get the house clean and ready for her so called "dinner date".

Later on into the night*

With Travis*

He was standing in his room, looking at the wall mirror, and making sure his tie was straight.

Katie walked in and looked at him through from the doorway.

Katie: Well, well, well. Someones getting dressed up for their date with Becks.

Travis: Figured the last time she had this planned, it was really nice so I had to dress for the occasion.

Katie: Well, you look handsome.

She then walked away as he continued to put on some cologne and grab his jacket.

The kids haven't made it over yet since Charlotte took them off her hands for a couple hours before bringing them over to Katie's. She wanted to have some time with them since she couldn't watch them all night tonight.

Travis then walked to the kitchen and continued out the door.

Getting in his truck and pulling out, this was the first time he was excited to go back home.

At Travis and Becky's*

He entered the gated community and it all looked the same, nice and clean. He was slowly approaching his house and had second thoughts, but he continued up the driveway and put his truck in park.

Looking around, the front door was open and all the outside lights were on.

Becky has had this all planned since the last dinner date.

Door closes*

He made his way up the driveway and walked up to the front door.

No Kilo to race to the door since he was outside in the back, running around already.

He grabbed the doorknob and opened it to hear a faint song playing through their surround sound system that was hooked up to the living room.

As the song got louder and louder, he walked passed the front room and went into the kitchen/living room area and looked into the kitchen.

There stood Becky, hair done, makeup done, putting the final touches on both of their plates.

But once he walked up to the counter, she was out of the strong focus and looked up at a smiling Travis.

Travis: Woah, you went all out.

Becky: It's just a little something something.

She then winked at him as she walked their plates over to the table, one at the end and one at the chair before the end, next to the other.

But before Travis could sit down, he stood in front of Becky and she slowly wrapped her arms around him.

He wrapped his around her and they were just slowly swaying until she broke the silence.

Becky: Thank you for coming.

Travis: Of course. I'm sorry about last time.

Becky: Didn't happen. This is all that matters.

They smiled at each other and both sat in the chairs to start eating.

Not five minutes go by*

Travis was already laughing at Becky's story about Jackson finally catching Alexis one night and tackling her.

It was the kids that have really held these two together.

But they continued to eat and just before Becky said anything, Travis already interrupted her.

Becky: Trav-

Travis: Hang on, Becks.

He put his silverware down and continued.

Travis: I'm sorry, for it all.

Becky: ...

Travis: I acted like a fool, I didn't act like a husband you deserve. I didn't believe in you.

Some of this stuff was coming out of open and she didn't know how to respond.

Travis: And last time, I should've told you I wasn't ready for all of this. I made you think I wasn't ready to get with us.

Becky: yeah..

Travis: And I'm sorry for what happened between Lex-

Just before he could continue, she put her finger to his lips and stopped him.

Becky: Lets not talk about that tonight.

Travis: Ok, sorry.

Becky: Let's just start with us. Becky and Travis.

Travis: Who should start?

They both contemplated on who would go first until Becky had to say something.

Becky: I want to talk about us, just us.

Travis: Ok, then let's talk about what had happened then.

Becky: With us cheating?

Travis: Thats why we're the way we are right now.

Becky: I don't want to talk about it though.

Travis: We're going to have to eventually.

Becky: sighs*

She given up and figured he was right, they would eventually have to talk about it sooner than later.

Becky: Fine, who goes first?

Travis: I mean I guess I will. Why?

Becky: See, are we going to have answers to these? I don't know why I did it. Do you know why you did?

Travis: Frowns* no.

Becky: See.

Travis: I just was thinking how I was thinking of divorce that first time and you seemed like you wanted to keep our marriage.

Becky: I did, and still do.

Travis: And you also said that was around the time where you cheated.

Becky: .. yeah.

Travis: Was it something I did or said that made you want to do it?

Becky: No, of course not.

Travis: ...

Becky: It was a drunken mistake.

Travis: .. ok.

He also had given up on trying to figure out why she cheated.

Becky: But seeing you text me that I can stay over at Ashley's since I didn't love you anymore hurt.

Travis: It felt like you lost faith in us since you would rather be on the road then with your family.

Becky: Of course I wanted to be home but also wanted to boost my character so I can help other superstars build onto themselves.

Travis: Thats why we have older talent. The younger underdogs always don't need a champion to push them.

Becky: I know.

It got quiet until she fired back and it almost seemed like it was in defense mode.

Becky: Why did you do it then?

Travis: I have no idea. I was blackout drunk.

Becky: And you got drunk because?

Travis: Because it was Valentines day and it was the first time in seven years I didn't spend it with anyone.

Becky: You did spend it with someone.

She crossed her arms in disappointment and he chuckled a little.

Travis: So what I did was worse than what you did?

Becky: I never said that, I'm just of course mad that you did it too.

Travis: We did it to ourselves.

It was quiet again as they continued to eat, look blankly at the candles and listen to the music.

A song from their wedding came up and they both knew what it was.

This one of the songs that Travis slowed danced to with Becky during their wedding. It was also the first time they've both heard it since that day almost seven years ago.

But both never acknowledged it and it hurt them both on the inside.

After a awkward moment, Becky came back and asked what Travis thought was the most pointless question she's ever asked him.

Becky: puts down fork* Was she better than me?

Travis: almost chokes* Excuse me? coughs*

Becky: Yeah, was Lexi better than me?

Travis: You're serious?

Becky: Wouldn't be if I wasn't asking.

He then smiled for a second and she cocked her head a little to the left and studied him.

Travis: I can't believe you'd ask that dumb question.

Becky: Dumb?

Travis: Yeah, dumb. First, why would I answer it? And second, how should I know? I was blackout drunk. I don't even remember leaving that club.

Becky: ...

She fell silent after that as she continued to think of what she just asked.

Then also remembered that it was out of panic since it was getting awkward and thats all she can think of. And now she realized how childish it was of her to ask that since he didn't ask the same question back to her for her situation.

She had to defuse the situation and make it right so it won't be any more awkward.

Becky: Hey.

She put her hand on his wrist and that made him look at her and now they were face to face, looking at each other deep in to their blue eyes.

Becky: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ask that. I guess I'm just nervous and asking dumb questio-

She was then interrupted by Travis putting his finger on her lips.

Travis: Lets just enjoy this time.

They both then smiled at each other and quickly forgot about their argument as they continued to talk a little about each other.

Then the topic of what they're doing in the company came up. Becky still doesn't know that Travis hadn't resigned as most talent doesn't know.

Only the writers and producers of the show along with upper management know.

He figured he'd tell her whenever the time comes, but that's not right now.

An hour later*

Just before Travis was about to leave, they were outside sitting on the porch.

Travis: I remember you standing there, pregnant with Alexis as I came around the corner..

Becky: With your guitar and sang to me.

Travis: Yeah..

They smiled and she had to ask the obvious.

Becky: How's come you don't play anymore?

Travis: I guess after us getting married and the kids, along with work getting busy around the time I never had any free time.

Becky: You were good.

Travis: Average at best.

They shared a good laugh, and what they both didn't know about each other but they had goosebumps.

First time in a couple months, they were laughing with each other and enjoying each other's presence.

Clock hit around nine at night and Becky was expecting the kids back anytime soon.

Travis looked at his watch and saw the time, so he got up without saying a word.

Becky: Leaving already?

Travis: I better get back. Kids will be here soon.

Becky: Why not stay a little? They'd love to see you.

Travis: I'd love to, but I already know they'll be a struggle to get to bed if they see me.

Becky: frowns* Oh, yeah. True.

She then followed him inside as the dog was sleeping on the floor in front of the fireplace.

It didn't take Travis long to grab his stuff and his jacket.

Becky stood behind him and watched him get ready, he then turned around and saw her.

Travis: Thank you for tonight.

Becky: Thank you for coming. It really ment alot.

Travis: Yeah, I felt like we got alot accomplished.

Becky: Me too!

Everytime he hears that Irish accent, it shoots sparks up and down his whole body.

It was love he was feeling. Some sort of way he was falling in love with her all over again after tonight.

Just as they hugged for goodbye, Travis went out and did the risky move.

Becky's head was turned perfectly, so he landed his lips on her cheek and pulled away.

His wife looked back at him, almost shocked but then had the biggest smile on her face as he let her go and walked out the front door.

To be continued..
