A Broken Family

A couple days since the return*

Well, Travis is back in WWE but only for a short time. By this time in a month, he'll be a free man. No more awkward storylines, no more mentally insane tour schedules, no more stress for being at work.

At this point in his life he's just ready to be done with that company and move on to better things. Travis has always been interested in doing stunts for movie productions or working to train upcoming superstars.

The thought of retiring full time came into question and was at one time the number one in his mind.

Still to this day, nobody else knows about his situation with the company, Hunter and Vince besides himself. Knowing that, multiple media outlets that cover the industry have no idea what is going on with Travis and the company.

All everyone knows is that he's back and ready for his Wrestlemania match against "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.

Wednesday*

Today was special for Travis since it was "Father Time". He would be picking up the kids and taking them out for the afternoon before going to his and Becky's third couples counseling session.

Travis is still sleeping*

He was still at Katie's since he cannot return home for reasons. Today he slept in a little longer than usual, and it was for a good reason.

Travis was having a unusual dream that was bringing back the past.

Travis's lucid dream*

There was Travis, overlooking what looked to be his home in Orlando. Looking around the area was around the time he was home from having to retire from inring competition.

As he looked around, he saw himself sitting on the couch watching a movie while Alexis was in bed.

When he continued to play out his dream, Travis watched himself grab his phone and scroll down his contact list.

Around this time in the past, this was the night that Becky supposedly cheated on him. That was because he never called her to check up on her, which probably could've changed her mind on going out that night that ended with making a mistake.

Dream Travis then was ready to put down the phone, it was like slow motion as the man himself helped him pick up the phone and dial his wife.

The dream continued as he saw Becky answer the facetime call.

Becky: Hello, love.

Dream ends*

Travis's eyes slowly opened as his ears were ringing from the alarm clock going off. He woke up drenched in sweat as he had that life changing dream.

Somehow he was able to possibly make his world normal again if he would've called her that night.

Knowing that and having it replay in his mind over and over for the short time, it was easily eating him on the inside.

He then quickly threw off the covers and sat up since he had a busy morning ahead, having that memory of his dream making him feel like it's somehow his fault couldn't ruin his day.

Just before his and Becky's appointment, he had to pick up his little one's.

Travis quickly jumped into the shower and got dressed.

20 minutes later*

He walked out wearing jeans and a nice shirt which impressed his sister.

Katie: cooking breakfast* Well, look at you. All dressed up. Special occasion?

Travis: I got the kids for the morning.

Katie: Awe.

She smiled and stopped cooking for a second so she could have a one on one with him.

A little heart to heart moment with her brother.

Katie: puts her hand on his shoulder* Trav, I'm so proud of the man you've become. Even though you're going through a rough patch right now, you're still a dad first.

Travis: Of course. If I didn't have Jackson or Alexis, I don't think I would've survived this.

Katie: They're your life saver. I'm glad you're their dad.

She smiled, wrapped her arms around her older brother and he gave her a hug back.

When they unlocked, he grabbed a piece of toast and said his goodbyes.

He walked outside and jumped into his truck to see the two empty car seats behind his, that made him pretty excited to fill them soon.

At Travis and Becky's house*

It didn't take Travis long to pull into the driveway and saw the front door was open.

Universal sign that Becky was watching for him to come pick them up. He quickly unbuckled and jumped out, which then the sound of the car door closing alerted someone inside the house.

Kilo was now looking out the front door, jumping and exited to see him. Travis smiled at him while opening the door, keeping the pup inside.

Travis: gets puppy kisses* Hi buddy!

His heart beat a little faster as with the little barks and whimper from Kilo, Alexis walked around the corner and her face light up.

Travis: Hey sweetheart!

She didn't say anything besides smile and hug him tight. Travis picked her up and walked her around as they made their way to the kitchen where Becky was.

Jackson was in his high chair and Becky was feeding him his breakfast. The little guy is starting to get to the point where he doesn't need his parents to hand feed him.

When she heard the little giggling sound from their daughter then the scrapes of puppy paws coming in quick.

That made her turn around to see her husband walking into the kitchen.

Becky: turns around* Oh. Hey!

Travis: Sup?

Becky: Making sure Jackson eats his applesauce than play with it.

That made her husband laugh a bit as he put down their daughter, pulled out a chair and sat at the table with them.

Becky: So, what's on the agenda today?

Travis: Figured I'd take the kids to the park, watch them play around and tire themselves. Maybe have a picnic before we have our appointment.

Becky: That sounds like fun.

He could see it in her eyes that she really wanted to go for quality family time, but now isn't the time for that.

Just before Travis could help get his son cleaned up, Becky grabbed his arm to stop him in his tracks.

Becky: Hey. I just want to say, I'm sorry about Monday.

Travis: Oh. No no, it's fine.

Becky: It's not. We're trying to fix our relationship and us continuing to fight doesn't help.

Travis: long sigh*

He rubbed his head and pulled the chair back out, sat down and looked at her in the eyes. She still hadn't started her day as she was still in her pajamas.

Travis: Arguments happen. I don't think what happened Monday was an arguement at all; felt more like being annoyed.

While he was explaining this all to her how he felt, she was remembering what their therapist said; Whenever they would have a disagreement when they're together then it's best to talk it out as much as you can. It help's to break up the conflict and find a way to agree with each other.

Becky: I think we should sit down and really talk.

Travis: We are meeting Amy later..

Becky: I mean just the two of us.

Never during this whole time has the thought of her cheating and him being almost alright with it since his mood change, Becky still doesn't know his reason.

Travis: I know. But we're going to her for a reason. She's a professional.

Becky: I just want you home.

She then ran her thumb over the top of his hand which made him quickly stand up and move away from that conversation.

Travis: clears throat* Alright, I better get them changed.

Becky: I'll come help.

He watched her stand up and follow him upstairs to both kids rooms. Travis got his son changed as Becky helped Alexis.

Before he knew it both kids were downstairs and ready to go.

A couple minutes later*

Jackson was standing next to Travis, wearing one of his wrestling shirts they had custom made.

Travis: bends down* Ok, say goodbye to mommy.

He said that to both kids as he pointed at Becky, Alexis then waved and Jackson said it.

That put a smile on Becky's face as Travis then said his goodbyes and closed the front door.

She continued to stand there for a second as her mind was racing. Everytime she tries to show affection towards her husband, he quickly changes the mood.

Something was now planned in her mind for tonight and she's hoping he'll be all about it.

An hour later*

Travis: Get her Jackson!

He was sitting on the park bench in front of the empty playground that was surrounding his kids. Alexis was running around her baby brother, playing keep away from him as he slowly chased her.

This was it, the life that Travis has always wanted. He was happy just being in the presence with two energetic yet happy kids.

Everything that is going on with his life, these two always make him forget.

A smile appeared on the dads face as he watched Jackson run towards him crying since he could never reach his sister.

Travis: Buddy, c'mon.

He bend over and picked up an upset baby as Alexis ran over to the aid and handed him back his stuffed animal.

Alexis: I'm sorry Jack. Here you go.

She handed him it and that made Travis smile.

The cries eventually stopped and turned into laughter. Before he knew it, Jackson was back on the ground getting chased by his sister.

Rolls reversed and Travis had to video some of it.

When he pulled out his camera and recorded the moment between brother and sister, a car pulled up in the backround that looked familiar.

It was someone that he planned to meet out here and talk.

Alexis: in the backround* Auntie Pam!!

She quickly ran towards Bayley who got out of the car and picked her up.

Jackson then ran back over to Travis, handed him his stuffed tiger and slowly ran over the two.

Travis then stood up as Bayley carrying his daughter and eventually his son, took one off her hands.

Bayley: Hey Travis.

Travis: How are you?

Bayley: I'm.. ok. You?

Travis: Fluctuates everyday.

She nodded and both kids were now hungry, perfect timing as they were getting tired.

Travis then grabbed the bag he brought, all four then walked over to a picnic table and he was getting their lunch out.

Alexis has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a banana, while Jackson had a little sandwich with a fruit cup.

Both kids dug into their lunches while Travis sat next to Bayley.

Bayley: So, I hear you and Becks are trying to work it out.

Travis: Yeah, we are.

She quickly got curious and wanted to know.

Bayley: Why? After all her and Fergal did to us?

Travis: I know.

Bayley: She cheated on you, Trav. With someone who you were close to.

Travis: I-

Bayley: She was close to him like we are, but they changed.

Travis: Pam. I know.

Bayley: Then why?

There was something keeping him from telling her the real reason. Someone outside of Travis already knows what happened and why he's trying to make it work.

Travis: Something happened where I don't think I could go through with divorce.

Bayley: What could possibly stop you from getting away?

She was waiting for an answer, but in perfect timing he saw Jackson spill his drink on himself.

The cries from the baby boy was heard and dad mode kicked in. Travis quickly jumped up, grabbed a few napkins as Bayley watched it.

Bayley. Awe, buddy. It's ok.

Jackson: still crying*

As Travis was quickly cleaning him up then picked up his baby boy, walked him back to the car to get him changed.

Walking back*

He then put Jackson back in his seat with dry clothes and saw Bayley and Alexis talking a little.

When he sat back down they were now focused on the kids and telling stories on what they've been up to. Alexis was still on spring break for school so she was telling her "aunt" everything she was doing outside of school.

Before they knew it, it was time to take the kids back so Travis could make his appointment.

Bayley said her goodbyes. Her and Travis made plans to meet up again and talk since they didn't get much today.

Travis packed the kids back into his truck, played a song they like and drove back to his sister's house.

Later on into the afternoon*

Travis hung out with the kids for an hour until it was time to leave. He said his goodbyes but will see them after the appointment.

He was walking next to his truck and jumping in, he sat in the driveway for a second as he was checking his phone.

While he was scrolling social media, a "timehop" came up. It was a post that he made six years ago when him and Becky started to date.

It was around the time she was busted open at a house show.

@tsharpwwe

"I just watched this woman get socked in the face, busted her eyebrow wide open and still win the match while blind in one eye. God, I love you @beckylynchwwe"

He remembers that match. Her and Charlotte were going up against Carmella and Natalya, and Nattie hit her pretty hard which split her open.

She ended up winning the match and getting patched up later that night.

Becky sent that photo to him when they both were back at their separate hotel rooms.

Travis sat there looking at the post not believing it's been six years. That was the best year of his life to that point, him and Becky were inseparable.

She was his best friend, his right hand, literally the person he would go to whenever he needed a second opinion.

Now, six years later they have two kids and trying to fix a marriage. Something he never thought how things would end up for them.

Just before he left, Travis flipped on his music streaming app and turned to a song that makes him feel something. It was from an old friend that he was able to preview before release.

Well, Travis was ready. He flipped the truck into reverse, backed out of the drive and waved to the little ones standing in the doorway.

Downtown Tampa*

Travis felt the deja vu once again as he pulled into the empty parking lot besides seeing Becky's SUV in the same spot.

He slowly rolled in and parked next to her. Before getting out, he looked over and saw her get out while dressed nice.

She had on a black outfit with a jacket to match. Becky was wearing her famous, ridiculous looking sunglasses that she collects.

Becky waved at him and watched him get out of his truck.

Travis: Hey.

Becky: Hey. How were the kids?

Travis: Good. As always.

Becky: They seemed very excited to go with you today.

Travis: I'm glad they were. Had a great morning. Boosted myself.

She smiled once again as he held the door open and watched her walk in first.

While she walked to the desk to check them in, Travis sat in the waiting room and pulled out his phone.

She sat next to him and also pulled out her phone. Then the same "timehop" came up on her timeline.

Becky: Oh my goodness. I forgot about this photo.

He looked over as she showed him her phone of the photo.

Travis: I saw that this morning. I remember that night.

Becky: I got glued. Didn't stay on as there was blood on my pillow the next morning.

They both shared a little laugh and continued to wait until a couple minutes later where Amy opened the door.

Amy: Travis, Rebecca?

Both stood up and Becky walked in first as Travis closed the door. She sat down first as Amy watched them get a little more comfortable.

Amy: Welcome back. How are you two doing?

Travis: It's been good.

Becky: Great!

Amy: Oh good. So, last time we met things got a little heated. We were talking about your past with having your daughter *gestures with her hands*. Then the topic of your retirement with getting a new job in your company, which would eventually take you away from home.

Travis: -

Becky: Sounds about right.

Amy: Ok. Let's continue on your life. Let's start with Becky. Where were you at when your daughter was born?

She had to think and rewind the thought of what the therapist said.

Becky: So, I just gone back to work. Alexis is home with Travis whenever he wasn't gone. They made me the champion pretty quickly and that pushed me further away from free time.

Amy: How did this make you feel?

Becky: It was horrible. I'm all for making my career unforgettable, but I'm a mother first.

She pointed at herself as Travis then had some words for her.

Travis: Didn't feel like it when I was home alone.

Becky: I wanted to come home.

Travis: Well, whenever we both were gone is when it really killed me. She should've had someone with her at all times.

Amy: Maybe you could've made a little plan together. Alternate.

Travis: Yeah. We could've.

Continuing with the appointment*

Amy: So, now were onto where your other child comes into light. Your son?

Travis: That's Jackson.

Amy: When he came into the picture, what was it like?

Travis: So I just got that new job with the company. I was home everyday besides Monday's and sometimes Sunday's. Becky was home for months until she went back later, then that's where my life started to hit the bottom.

Becky looked over and was surprised that's when it happened. She figured his rock bottom was after all this.

Travis: I was home, alone with a five month old and a wild five year old. Now I love my kids, they're the reason I'm still here but when you feel like a single parent raising them; its hard.

Amy: When did you feel happy?

Travis: Everytime Becks came home for half a day or maybe if we were lucky two. She would be the mother they deserved, but then since she was heavy into multiple storylines and needed to be gone it was hard on myself.

Becky: -

Travis: I would ask her over and over to take time off, and she would but it wasn't enough. At one point I thought about going back to Boston and filing for divorce.

Amy: So divorce has always been in question?

Travis: Multiple times.

Amy: Did you ever discuss that subject with Rebecca?

She looked over at her husband with her legs crossed and wondering.

Travis: No, I didn't.

Becky: I wish you you've.

Travis: So did I. Hard to talk to someone about something that serious over the phone.

Becky: I was doing my job, Trav.

He didn't want to get into this since it always goes full circle.

Close to the end of the meeting*

They've been catching up on their life that leads to the ultimate problem that brought them to that point.

Amy: Ok. So I've gathered all the information I need. You two have been struggling with arguing and I've pinpointed your problems started when your daughter came into the picture.

Travis: I- don't understand?

Amy: This happens to many couples that they start to become more distant. I believe that's when you and Rebecca started to argue more.

Travis: But this isn't why we're here.

Amy: Yes, you're correct. But this is a bigger issue than why you actually came into my practice.

Becky stayed quiet. She knows that she is another reason why they're going through this.

Travis: Ok, then what's next.

Amy: You two have a long road ahead. But I believe we can get you two back together.

That made Becky smile as she has been waiting to hear those words in a long time.

Amy: Also, since you two aren't like any other couple during this type of situation. You two are more calm.

Travis: I wasn't at the time.

Amy: Yes, but you two are workable. So I want you two to try something.

She put the file away and laid her arms on the desk.

Amy: You two said you're not under the same household correct?

Becky: I'm at the house. He's at his sister's.

Amy: Ok. Have you two been together long enough to start talking? You two can always talk without me.

Becky: I've been trying to get him to come over and talk. I asked him Monday if he wanted to come over for dinner. He said it was rushing.

Travis: It feels like it.

Amy: I'm not picking sides, but that's not a bad idea. And Travis, you have the right to feel that. Maybe it does feel rushed to you, but you two are also in this. You two have to make it work.

She put down her glasses and continued to talk as the meeting was almost over.

Amy: I think dinner is a good idea. You're able to sit down, have something to keep you distracted unlike sitting in a room with nothing. You two can talk some and easily start to develop that trust feeling again. And Travis, if it ever feels rushed or something else; you're also able to leave it and wait until you come back. We're all in this together.

In Travis's mind, it feels very rushed. Becky is wanting to get together once again and be a happy family. The situation they're in isn't something to rush, he feels like they need to slowly get back together and build that trust.

Amy: I'll see you two next week?

They both shook the therapist hand and walked out of her office and practice.

When they stepped back to the parking lot, it wasn't long before they were at their cars.

That's when Becky quickly stopped Travis and asked again.

Becky: Hey. Would you want to come over for dinner?

Travis: Becks..

Becky: We could just sit and talk. Take Kilo over to Katie's. Have it just be the two of us.

She had a worried face as Travis had no idea what to do.

Travis: I don't know. I still feel like this is rushing it. We're only four weeks into counseling.

Becky: I feel like if we have this one night, we can really talk. Just think about it, I'll make dinner.

She smiled and walked back to her car, got in and took off back towards their house.

He stayed at the side of his truck and was scratching his head as he had no idea what to do.

Later on that night*

At the Sharp's residence*

The clock just hit seven o'clock and there was Becky back at home. She had cooked Travis's favorite meal, prime rib.

She was standing in front of the table that is in the dining room. Laying the plates of food on the table and lightning some candles to set a mood. It wasn't a mood to make him feel uncomfortable, but atleast something romantic in her eyes.

Becky had gotten her hair and makeup done from one of the ladies that works in the back department at the shows.

She then got out one of the dresses she wore to one of the red carpet shows that her and Travis were invited to years ago.

It was a short black dress and she wore a bracelet that he bought her that have the kids birthstone on it.

Becky was nervous since she thought she went all out for what the therapist wanted them to do.

But she feels like this could work and they could talk everything out.

All she wants is to be a happy family once again.

With the night coming into life, Becky was now on her phone sending him a text.

Becky: Hey, I have prime rib here.

Now all she had to do was wait for her husband to come over.

To be continued..
