Chapter 4

Namjoon opened the door to the Classic Mystery club he started. "Good morning!"

Tae looked up from the computer. "Morning Joonie, you don't have class?"

Namjoon dropped his bag in the corner. "No, I have a free period. Then I have to go to English lit."

Tae nodded, "I heard the commotion in the auditorium. So I guess we have some new blood?"

Namjoon sat down at the chair that was in front of Tae's desk. "Yes and Professor Nihau asked me to do the mystery introduction for the freshmen that are going to take his class."

Tae grinned. "Here is your chance to get some of them to join our club."

Namjoon nodded. "The more the merrier, we have lost a few."

Tae lightly rolled his eyes. "That is because you only focus on this Yumei Kazuma case."

Namjoon averted his gaze, yes he did and everyone wanted to get him to drop it. But the more people pushed him to drop it the more curious he got. "I-"

"I am not going to tell you to drop this, Joonie but after seven years don't you think it is time?"

Namjoon hung his head and got up. "I can not. It is hard to explain but I just can't let this go."

Tae nodded at his words. "Well this is your resolve and it is getting harder to crack police cases."

Namjoon's ears peaked at Tae's words.

"I still didn't find anything, Joonie. It seems like this Yumei does not exist in the system."

Namjoon's shoulders dropped. "Thank you for looking over and over. I am going to the cafeteria and I'll see you after classes."

Tae didn't respond to him, Namjoon picked up his bag and headed out. They were three members short and if they can't find any members the club will be closed.

Yumei and Yoongi followed the group that walked behind Hoseok. He was taking them to the other side of the university where the sports side was.

Yumei let out a yawn and Yoongi placed his hand over her mouth. "You shouldn't let them see that this bores you, Yuki."

Yumei glared at Yoongi and let out a strained mumble. "Sorry I can not hear you, Yuki."

Yoongi removed his hand from her mouth and grinned. She clicked her tongue. "Don't just touch people like that, Kiryu!"

They kept walking and Hoseok was excitedly talking about this years sporting event.

"Your hand was to slow and I am just as bored as you are."

"Yeah? I want to get to the literary building where we can actually learn something then pumping muscles."

Yoongi pursed his lips together to keep a laugh from escaping his lips. 'Pumping muscles' He found that hilarious.

"Kiryu your face-"

The group suddenly stopped. "So freshmen let us take a break, this is the cafeteria and then we will be moving to the literary building!"

Yumei's face beamed, she came here to study English anyway. Yoongi poked her shoulder. "Shall we grab something to eat then?"

She turned in his direction. "I guess so, should I get a table?"

They entered the cafeteria with the rest of the group. Yoongi whispered, "Get one away from the peering eyes."

Of course, he didn't like being in crowded places. Yumei gave him a nod and made her way to a table in the far back.

Yoongi stood in the queue and looked at the menu. 'Mmm, she will probably have some spice noodles with a soda and I'll just get some dumplings.'

The row was moving slowly and he kept glancing over his shoulder in Yumei's direction just to make sure she was still there.

After a few moments when he glanced back again, he saw someone a few feet from her, staring and he had a notebook in hand.

Namjoon grabbed a coffee and stepped away from the line to go to his favourite table and note a few things down.

He stopped a few feet away, there was someone already at his table and it was the girl he saw this morning. What was the odds?

She had a book in front of her, her eyes were darting over the pages and she bit her lip, she didn't even glance up when she turned the page.

Namjoon had a smile on his face, maybe he should introduce himself. It wasn't every day you find a girl that was reading.

These days everyone was on their cellphones. 'Okay, Namjoon. Just walk over and say hi, that shouldn't be too hard?'

He was still having an inward battle with himself and when he decided that he will introduce himself he heard a voice behind him.

"Is there a reason you are staring at her?"

Namjoon jumped and dropped his coffee on the floor. A few people looked up and he turned to the person that spoke to him. "Oh, uhm no I... I wasn't-"

The person in front of him had an angry expression on his face. "Are you a stalker then?"

Stalker? He wasn't a stalker. "No, it is just that is my table."

"I don't see your name on it." He pushed past Namjoon, "If you aren't a stalker why do you have a notebook?"

Namjoom scratched his head. "I am a novice investigator."

"Good for you... Stay away from her."

Namjoon blinked as the man walked to the table and placed the food down. The girl closed her book and smiled.

Namjoon noticed how her face lit up with her smile and he opened his notebook. He lifted his pen from his ear.

"Limo Girl in the cafeteria with a strange man who warned me to stay away from her... Interesting...

Are they together? "

'Wow, Namjoon that was the first thought that came to your mind?'

"She has a beautiful smile and liked to read. The man was also one who exited the limo after her.

Was he her bodyguard? But why would she need one?

I need to get closer to this girl, without her bloodhound around."

He closed his notebook when he looked up they were gone.
