Chapter II

Jonathan's P.O.V

"You, Jonathan Davidson, will be my new dance partner." This sentence has been in my head for the past four days.

It has been exactly four days since I meet Hayley James. The girl who I "broke" her camera. The girl who lives across the street. The girl who has non-stop left me alone since she wanted to be my dance partner. During these four days, I have been avoiding her. Not talking to her in math and gov. Hayley got the memo that the guys and I don't really want to talk to her after the first day.

"Jon!" I heard Tyler say.

My head shot up. I looked to see that I had fallen asleep during government. The class still had people leaving the class.

"Come on we have to head on to third," Tyler told me. I looked up to see the seat in front of me was empty. Hayley sat in front of me during government. Since I have been avoiding her these past four days she has slowly been getting the message.

"Hayley's probably already in third come on," Tyler said as he lead me to a short cut. One that Hayley had shown us.

"So are you really not gonna talk go Hayley until her first video is submitted?" Tyler asked me.

I just looked straight ahead. I know this is another guilt trip sappy shit that the guys and others have been telling me about.

"Yes, she submits that video without me she'll truly be on her own. They don't allow entry's from people who brought in another partner last minute. It won't fly." I told him.

"You did your homework. Well, avoiding the problem isn't gonna help anything." Tyler said.

"It will because I get out of dancing." I told him.

We walked into math to see that Hayley wasn't in her seat. Instead, we saw her on the other side of the class. With ear buds in her ears.

-
Lunch had finally came around and the whole table wasn't talking. Hayley wasn't there. Evan and David were the only ones talking. Tyler was on his phone and I was doing late homework.

"So Jon is that it for Hayley. She's too much of a dancer to include her into our group." Evan said.

"She made up her own mind when she started avoiding us." I told them.

"Well, I wonder why she started avoiding us. Listen we know you wanted your space so you can think about her decision but we're not gonna continue to ignore her for you. If we talk to her we want you to talk to her again." Tyler said.

"There's no way in hell you're gonna make me talk to her." I told them.

"Thought you say that." Evan said. He jumped up on the table and I watched as David and Tyler start a drumroll.

"Evan chill." I said. The cafeteria soon got quiet and everyone looked up at our table. Everyone but one. She happened to be talking to someone on the phone and was too into her conversation.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Seniors! As we made it to our last year, we are gonna have a party at the ever so lovely Jonathan Davidson house at 8 tonight!" Evan said. Hayley's head shot up at the sound of the party. She hung up on the person she was talking to and finally gave us all her attention.

"This is a senior only party. Any underclassmen will be punished. We will know who tried to get in. We will find you." Evan said before getting off the table. As he did I saw Hayley get up. As she did she walked towards our table with a yellow envelope in her hand. She threw it down on the table and left the cafeteria.

"What are you four planning?" I asked. They all smiled and handed me the envelope.

I took it and read the note on the outside.

Hope you got a job because you may be ignoring but I need that camera and my camera crew. Love, Hayley James.

I took out the envelope and saw a bunch of dance steps on some of the sheets. One by one I started taking out the papers and laying them out.

"If that damn bell rings before I get all of this done I'm flipping shit." I told the guys. they helped me arrange them. Hayley had made the little tiny footprints into letters.

They said: One dance. Meet at the park at noon.

Evan looked into the envelope and saw three more notes. They were addressed to the guys.

"We're her camera crew. We can't influence your decision about being her partner. It's up to you." Evan said.

People started leaving the cafeteria. Lunch was over. I gathered all the papers and sighed.
-
Hayley's P.O.V

"Alright, that's a wrap. Have a nice weekend, girls. I'll she you all next week. Hayley good luck on the submission video." My dance teacher, Mrs. Parker, said.

I gathered my things and waited for the bell. The bell rang and we all raced for the door. I saw Jon waiting for me by the lockers. He had the envelope I gave him in his hands.

"Hey..." He said as I walked out.

"Hey." I told him.

We stood there in awkward silence. We were acting like we had just broken up. He looked down at the ground then at me.

"I hope you know we can still be friends, but Hayley I can't-" I had cut him off.

"I don't want to hear it. Whatever excuse you have keep it. I told you that you have until noon to make up your mind. Either you come or not show up that's up to you." I told him.

"But Hayley we both know I'm not gonna show up." He told me.

"No, you think you're not gonna show up. I know for a fact that my statement on Monday has been haunting you all week. It has you thinking and if I give you one more day you'll start to think of the regret you might have in the future for saying no. I know for a fact you will show up. Even if you say you're retired, I know you're not. You're still holding on to it." I told him.

I came closer to him and rested my forehead on his. I grabbed him by the shoulders and stared into his eyes.

"Dancing will forever be in your life. It's used in our culture and everyday life." I whispered to him.

I let go of him and made my way to the other dance room. I left Jon starstruck. He made no other move. He stood there.

-
Jonathan's P.O.V

"You're still holding on to it..." Once again Hayley managed to say something that will be stuck in my head for days again.

I walked to Evans car. He was talking to Sydney about something. I took the long way to their car hoping they would stop talking and leave.

"Who's that new girl that handed Jonathan an envelope during lunch?" Sydney asked.

I walked up to the car, none of them seemed to notice.

"Oh, that's Hayley James. We accidentally broke her camera. So until we pay for it Tyler, David, and myself are her camera crew. Jonathan will be her partner hopefully." Evan told her.

"Well, I hope you know she's a major weirdo. When Jon used to dance she had a picture of him in her locker in middle school." Sydney said.

"She's actually not that bad. In the day we first met her she seemed pretty laid back." Evan said.

"Well just know hanging out with her will lower your popularity level. She has no friends and is a complete weirdo." Sydney said.

"We don't care about stupid popularity Sydney. If we did Evan wouldn't be fucking around with you if we did." I told her.

"What does that mean?" She asked me.

I had finally gotten their attention. With their attention now, Evan seemed to realize what time it was.

"Nothing, Jon we should go. We got that party." Evan said opening the car doors. He pushed me in the passenger seat. He quickly locked the doors and unlocked his driver's side.

"No, let him explain." Sydney said.

"Sorry. Gotta set up that party." I told her.

Evan started the car and we left Sydney in the school parking lot. Evan put on some classic rock station and started driving towards his house. I'm guessing he's gonna need his sleepover gear. Usually, after the parties, the guys sleep over due to them being so fucking wasted.

"So did you go to see Hayley?" Evan asked me.

"Yeah, I did. I told her I wasn't going to do it, but she wouldn't take my no for an answer. She told me if it was really a no I am not to show up at all tomorrow at noon." I told him.

"I'm guessing you're not gonna show up." Evan said.

"I wasn't gonna show up, but now she has that damn voice of hers stuck in my head again." I told him.

"Man, how long has it been when a girl made you feel guilty about something?" Evan asked.

"Too long..." I told him.

We sat there in silence for about two minutes. That was until Evan broke the silence.

"You know she is kind of a cutie." Evan said. I just stared at him blankly.

"If you don't go after her I think I might as well will. Before you showed up I was gonna tell Sydney I am no longer interested." Evan informed me.

"You're not serious." I told him.

"I am. She's pretty, smart, I love her personality. She makes me smile when we text." Evan told me.

"You've been texting her? Even after I told the three of you guys not to." I said.

"Well she put us all in a group chat and next thing lead to another we all started talking. We know you're really headstrong about not talking to her but I want to let you know that she means well. Just give her a chance." Evan told me.

"She is kinda cool." I mumbled.

"Kinda? No, she's definitely cool." Evan said.

We pulled up to Evans house and if as on cue I got a phone call from Tyler and David.

"Hello." I answered the phone.

"Hey, can you and Evan give David a ride. Cars messed up again and I'm gonna be a little late to the pre-party because of it and Olivia." Tyler told me.

"Alright then. Well just try and bring the snacks." I told Tyler.

We said our goodbyes and he hung up the phone. During my conversation on the phone, Evan got out of the car to get anything he needed. I relaxed a little and waited for him to walk back out his house. he came out just as I started to relax.

"Who was on the phone?" Evan asked as he got back in the car.

"We have to make a trip to David's place. Tyler's car doesn't work and he'll be late to the pre-party. He has to deal with Olivia and his car." I told Evan.

"Alright, then did you tell him to bring snacks?" Evan asked.

"Yes. So we'll be in charge of getting the beer and setting up my house." I told him.

-
"Bring the keg over here!" I yelled at Evan and Tyler who had just now shown up.

"What's a keg?" Olivia asked.

"What the-? Tyler, you brought her?" David asked.

"I had to. Grandma wouldn't let us come to the party if I didn't find either someone to take care of her or I do it myself. I'm thinking of taking her to Hayley's. She won't mind right?" Tyler asked us.

"We can put her in my dad's old office. It was sound proof she won't hear anything. I'll give her the tiny TV and my tablet and some food." I told him.

"As much as it will be nice to lock up my kid in that room I'm gonna go with Hayley the babysitter." Tyler said.

"Why couldn't you ask that one girl in our gov class? Kelly something." I told him.

"Because I actually talk to Hayley and isn't hiding from her like you are all because you don't want to admit to her that you still want to dance. That you want to be her partner but can't move on because of Alison." Tyler said.

"Don't you dare bring up Alison. She has nothing to do with this." I told him.

"I know it's been a year but she wouldn't want you to keep mopping around." Tyler said.

"She wouldn't want you to keep that day before she died from Evan. If you want to talk about what she would've wanted." I told him.

"You said you would keep that a secret." Tyler said.

"What happened the night before?" Evan asked.

"Nothing!" Tyler yelled.

"Why don't you tell him, Tyler? Too scared!" I yelled.

"Shut the fuck up Jon! Before I really give you a makeover!" Tyler yelled.

"Bring it on!" I said.

Tyler went to throw the punch but someone caught his fist. With both hands around his fist and using all her force to make sure I don't get hit. Hayley had finally shown up.

She let go of Tyler's fist but grabbed him by the ear. She did the same to me.

"We need to talk." She said. She lead us to my back yard and closed the door behind her.

"There was a child present. How dare two of you curse and fight." Hayley said to us.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"This isn't about me. This about the two of you acting like five year olds." Hayley said.

"Well, Jonathan started it. I was only about to finish it." Tyler said.

"Oh really? Bring it on pig!" I said.

Hayley put her hands on both of our chests again. She pushed us further away.

"You go back inside. I'll talk to Tyler. Evan can deal with you." Hayley told me.

How dare she talk to me like that. Like I get she tried to help but I'm now a five year old.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" I asked her.

"Excuse me." She told me.

"Who. The. Fuck. Do. You. Think. You. Are?" I repeated myself.

"The fucking person that is stopping you two from fighting like five year olds." Hayley told me.

I took one step closer to her. "Is this all because I'm not gonna be your dance partner? Is that why you're here acting all high and mighty?" I told her.

"This isn't about me wanting you to be my partner. This is about-"

"You wanting to prove that you can save a has been. That you can revive the legacy of Jonathan Davidson. I heard it before. 'Dancing will forever be a part of my just like Alison was!' I'm the definition of a failure. I gave up on my big break and got my sister killed." I told her.

I felt tears coming into my eyes. I let them fall. I didn't care at this point. I didn't care who saw me cry like a baby. I didn't care if this would make the school's twitter page. I stopped caring.

I felt arms embrace me. I let her hold me. She put my head on her chest. I felt her heart beat racing. Why was it racing? Did I yell at her too much? Was it me being this close to her? I don't know.

"I think we should grab Olivia and head back to my place. Just the four of us. My aunt won't be back till Sunday. Business trip." Hayley said.

Tyler nodded and head inside to grab Olivia. I weep into Hayley's boobs some more. Tyler came back and we started to walk over to Hayley's house. Hayley grabbed onto my hand and held onto it tightly.

Once we got to Hayley's house, she opened the door and sat us all in the living room. She got on her phone and opened a folder that was labeled Pizza. She handed her phone to Tyler and said, "Have fun." Before leaving to go upstairs. She went looking for things and yelled from the top of the stairs. Something about wanting to know if Olivia had PJs. Sure enough Tyler packed her some and same thing for himself. I was the only one without PJs. I know I won't be going to my house after the party or anytime soon. Hayley came down the stairs in gray Nike swear pants and a black tank top. She had on black socks. In her hand she had chargers, ear phones, a tablet, and a pair of pajama pants.

"For PJs I usually shop in the men's section. So I have these Nintendo pants. I also bought an oversized black shirt. Also from the men's section." Hayley told me as she handed me the extra clothes.

"Thanks." I mumbled. I took the clothing and slowly made my way upstairs.

"Do you mind if I shower here?" I asked.

"No. Go ahead. But its only women that live here. I have some men cologne if you want to cover up the smell of women." Hayley informed me.

"Alright." I mumbled once more. I slowly made my way to her bathroom. As I did I happened to stumble soon on a room that was painted mint green. I couldn't help but walk in.

-
Hayley's P.O.V

"I never got my chance to talk to you." I said to Tyler.

"Yeah, you never did. So how much of it did you hear?" Tyler asked me.

I sighed and smiled at Olivia. She had my headphones on and was way into Peepa the pig.

"Enough to know that you too were in love with Alison." I told him. He looked down at the floor. He then looked at his adopted daughter. He proceed to grab her by the waist and sit her down on his lap. Olivia kept the tablet close to her.

"I regret that night before her death. I regret, so fucking much." He told me.

I grabbed his hand and held it up with mine.

"It'll be all fine. If I were you, whatever you did... You should come clean to it soon. I know Jon had probably told you this many times before, but you need to tell Evan." I told him.

He sighed and looked at me with his green eyes. He then looked at his kid.

"We should go. Leave you with your neighborhood boy. I'll see you tomorrow." Tyler said before removing the headphones and tablet from Olivia.

"Say goodbye to Hayley Bayley." Tyler told Olivia.

"Bye Hayley Bayley." Olivia said as Tyler grabbed her things and her.

"Bye Olivia!" I said. The two of them walked out of the house and towards Tyler's car that always seems to have car problems.

I closed the door and headed towards the bathroom to see if my lovely neighbor was having a good time. On my way there I saw Jon in my room. Examing the things. My trophy's and awards. My family photos. The clothes and bed I sleep in. Everything.

-
Jonathan's P.O.V

I walked into Hayley's room. I started to examine the walls. To see any posters if boybands that Hayley would like. I saw none. All I saw were pictures of scenery or pictures of Hayley and her aunt of vacation. Must be because of her lovely life as a dancer. I saw her desk and saw home work on it. I also saw a Mac laptop and a mouse to go with it. Her bed was next to her laptop. The bed sheets was toped with mint and white covers. Her closet was open and I saw two sections. A section for everyday wear and dancing practice. Another for performing. Next to her closet she had more photos. These photos were different. They had pictures of Hayley as a child. No more than five years old. She was with a man and a women in all of the photos. The women looked exactly like Hayley now. Except her hair was straight and blonde. The man was the one with brown hair that was curly.

"They say my mom and I look alike." Hayley said.

She snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned to look at her. She had thrown her hair up. There goes her nice beautiful locks. She walked towards me.

"My mom was the one who enrolled me into ballet when I was about two. She said it was her quality me time. Since she couldn't pick me up because of her lack of car. She only dropped me off and dad came to pick me up." Hayley informed me.

I wanted to ask her what happened to her parents, but I already knew her answer. I just wanted to know how.

"They died in a car crash when I was five. They both got ready to pick me up and had a huge surprise for me. New ballet shoes and a new tutu." Hayley told me. I saw her eyes water up.

"Was it a drunk driver?" I asked her.

"No, some guy was speeding." Hayley simply said. I heard her voice start to crack.

I looked at her. I saw tears falling from her cheeks. I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. Just like she did to me earlier. She cried a little into my chest.

"You say I don't understand that I never get what's going on with You, but I do understand. I might have been younger when something like this traumatized me, but I know." Hayley told me looking back up at me.

Now I understood why she keeps bugging me. Why she goes out of her way to make me her partner. It's not because she admire me or had a crush on me. It's because Hayley James is trying to fix me. Trying to pick up the pieces and restore myself. Dance will be a part of me forever, this little episode I've been having is an excuse.

"It's okay James." I whispered into her ear. I had no idea what else to say. I just held her like that till the door bell rung.

"I should get that. Its food." Hayley said.

"Alright. I'll be in the shower." I told her. She nodded her little head and walked downstairs. I heard her open the door and greet the pizza person. I slowly made my way into the shower.

I got in and undressed. I let the water heat up before walking into the shower. Once I got in I let the water hit me. My mind started to wonder.

My heart beat was racing. Every time Hayley gets just an inch close to me. I feel myself get nervous around her. Whenever I feel myself get upset, she calms me down. Her smile makes me smile. Her laugh makes me smile even more. The way she talks. The way she can be so calm. I think I'm falling for the Hayley James.

-
I got out of the shower and changed into the clothes Hayley had gotten me. To my surprise the clothes fit exactly.

"Alright Abi. I won't. Okay, bye." I heard Hayley talking on the phone. I had walked downstairs to see Hayley in the kitchen getting ready to serve me.

"Hey." I let her know I was in the room.

"Oh hey Davidson." Hayley said. She handed me a cup and pizza. I took them since I kinda got hungry.

She grabbed the box and a plate for herself. We walked into the living room and saw The Night At The Roxbury's was already on. We left the movie on and sat in silence for about three minutes.

"So in the case that I show up tomorrow, what would one have to wear?" I asked Hayley.

She looked at me with those hazel eyes that send my heart racing. Those eyes I could stare into.

She smiled at me with that beautiful smile of hers, "Well you need to come in a white shirt and just normal jeans. Wear black and white shoes." Hayley told me.

I smiled at her and put my food and drink down. With her beautiful anyway can lose their appetite.

I couldn't help my actions. I scooted a little closer to her and she did to me. I smiled at her and she did to me as well.

"Thanks for calming me down and stuff." I told her.

"No problem. Sorry I was acting all high and mighty it's just I want to help you Davidson." James told me.

"You're fine." I told her.

Her head rested on my forehead. We looked at each other for a second before I leaned in. Hayley didn't back away. Instead she leaned in as well. Our lips met and I was sent to the moon. She made me feel so weird by the slightest touch. She made my heart skip a beat whenever she walked into the room.

"I think I love you." I whispered in between kisses.

Hayley back out of the kiss and looked at me. Her hazel eyes wide and shocked. I had just now fucked up.

"I think I love you Kylo." I quickly tried to save myself.

"Did you say you loved me?" Hayley asked. She was, as the kids say, shook.

"No, I said it to Kylo." I tried to get myself of this.

Hayley was still on alert, but she calmed down. She didn't believe me. I mean who would.

"Listen Jon before you go saying I love you, there has to be getting to know. Then dating for awhile. Then you can say I love you." Hayley told me.

I felt so embarrassed. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

"Sorry..." I whispered. Hayley laughed a bit before kissing me one last time.

"Its getting late." Hayley said.

I looked at the time and saw it was only 10:45. It was getting late. The party at my house went on and Evan and David must've forgotten about me. I'm sure Tyler texted them letting them know he went home. I nodded and started to get comfortable on the couch.

"Come on. My bed has a pull out bed underneath. I'm sure you cantbget any sleep with all that noise in your house." Hayley said as she grabbed my hand.

I let her take it and lead me to upstairs. She pulled out the bed, but I pushed it back in.

"What are you doing?" Hayley asked me.

"I don't like to sleep alone." Was all I told her. She sighed and got into bed. She moved all the way to left  side of the bed. The one near the wall. I got into bed and put an arm around her. I pulled her closer to me.

"I'm sorry I have been such a dick this past week James. I just thought you were like everyone else. Thinking they could fix me. Put back the pieces and stuff." I told Hayley.

"It's fine Davidson. I should've told the guys why I decided to try and help you. They would've let you know." Hayley said.

I kissed the back of her neck. I held her closely like she was going to leave me at any moment. I met this girl on a Monday. On the first day of fall. She has shown me nothing but kindness. She had my heart racing since day one. She was  weird, funny, beautiful. Amazing. I had fallen madly in love with Hayley James. She may not feel the same about me, but I do to her. I love the Hayley James.

-
It was morning and I tried to look for James. I felt the bed and she was no where to be found. I got up and saw a note on her desk. I took the note and read it:

Looks like you got some cleaning up to do. I helped you a little with getting the upstairs done and random drunks out. You can do the rest. Don't forget Cinderella at 12 we dance One Dance. Show up if you want to.
-Like, Hayley James.

I got up to check the time. It was ten on the dot. I quickly grabbed my clothes from yesterday and threw them on. I threw the pants Hayley gave me and threw them into her dirty laundry. I ran across the street to see what Hayley really cleaned. When I ran in and slammed the door I had woken up Evan. David was already up working on some hangover juice. The house looked almost clean. Except for the dishes and the full trash bags.

David never really liked to drink. Tyler and Evan were the party type. I can party when I feel like it. David and I usually take care of Olivia during parties.

"Shhhh!" Evan said. No one was making noise.

"Take it you drunk fuck." David told him.

"How drunk did he get?" I asked. Evan was fucked up. He had a unibrow and a dick on his forehead.

"Well if you couldn't tell by his lovely face, he got level five drunk. He can hold his liquor better, but he can get drunk easier." David told me.

Evan has five level of drunkness. Level one is he just needs rest and water. Level two is he'll have a headache and remember almost all of the night. Level three Evan needs a special hangover juice and he can go on. Level four is no one let him speak and go anywhere. Level five is welp fuck.

"Fuck, you three need to help Hayley for her audition tape today." I told him.

"Why dont you do it? You said you're not gonna dance again." David said.

"Well actually... I have been considering her offer. I have to do it." I told David.

Evan walked into the kitchen and took the hangover juice from David. He chugged it in one go. He than gave it back to David and asked for another one. Evan looked more calm.

"So the Jonathan Davidson is gonna make a come back. Man what did Hayley tell you that we should've told you?" Evan asked. He sat down at the island I have in my kitchen.

"Nothing really. I found out she knows what I'm going through. What I am feeling." I told them.

"You kissed her didn't you?" Evan asked me.

"Yeah." I told them.

David and Evan exchanged looks. It was like they didn't know if they should celebrate or get mad.

"What exactly happened?" Evan asked.

"Well Tyler had left us and I came downstairs from showering at her place. We started to talk and next thing lead to another we started making out." I told them.

"How far did you get?" Evan was so curious. It was like he was pretending Hayley was his little sister or something.

"Just making out. I kind of ruined it." I told them.

"How?" Evan asked.

David finished making the second drink and handed it to Evan. Evan started to chug it.

"I accidentally told her I love her." I told him.

Evan almost chocked on his drink. He took one last sip and looked at me. David was just as shook as he was.

"You told her what?!" They both said at the same time.

"It was an accident. My thoughts came out as words. I tried to cover it up by saying I love her dog Kylo. She didn't believe me but she did say I have a chance." I told them.

"A chance?" Evan asked.

"She said exactly this: 'Listen Jon before you go saying I love you, there has to be getting to know. Then dating for awhile. Then you can say I love you.' So yeah my chanced with her are pretty good." I told them.

Evan said nothing more. He drank the rest of his drink and left to the living room. he threw on a sleeping mask and laid down on my couch.

"I'll clean up later. You, David, and Tyler go on ahead. She'll do with two camera men." Evan told us.

I nodded and ran up the stairs. David started to make one last juice and clean up. I grabbed my white shirt, random pair of rip jeans, and black vans. I changed into the outfit quickly ran out the door. David got into my car. He was going to drive but I stopped him.

"I want to drive." I simply told him.

"What?" David asked.

"I want to drive." I repeated myself. I pushed him out of the way and jumped into the drivers side of the car. I hadn't driven in a year.

Flashback came but I pushed them away. All I was worried about was being the best dance partner to Hayley James.

Okay I know some parts don't align with the first chapter but I don't care. This is a new and better storyline.
