Chapter 2 ━━ Foster Matchmaker

High-school sucks and the first day can be a nightmare. 

That is the exact thought swirling in Shelley's mind the very first second she witnesses students giving the twins these looks as if the twins are a newly discovered animal species. She decides to stick beside her sister ignoring the looks they're receiving, when two guys appear and introduce themselves.

"Hey, I'm Mike."

"And Eric." 

"Uh,nice to meet you both." Bella shakes their hands and Shelley does the same in no time. She needs to make more friends.

"Shelley and Isabella, right?" The asian guy grins at the twins.

"Bella." Bella corrects him.

"Right, Bella." Mike says.

"They got a great spike, huh?" A girl appears from nowhere and turns to the twins. "I'm Jessica by the way. Hey you guys are from Arizona right?"

"Yeah." Bella nods.

"Aren't people from Arizona supposed to be like, really tan?" Jessica questions.

"Yeah, maybe...that's why they kicked us out." Shelley jokes.

"Good point, sis." Bella giggles lightly.

"You guys are good." Mike giggles along with them. 

"That's so funny." Jessica laughs. Something says to the blonde that it is fake though.

At the same moment, Bella turns around and walks away. It is safe to say that she's not a fan of new people.

Mike raises his eyebrow and Shelley quickly tosses an apologising smile before following after her sister.

If Shelley ever enjoyed something about high-school, it is her favourite period of the time she spends on the school aka the interval. No teachers, no lessons and no volleyball. Just food and gossip.

"-a masterpiece. We'll have like crazy pyramid fall from the sky-" Eric explains to a guy as Bella, Mike, Jessika and Shelley walk into the lunch room and pass him. They group walk to a table and Mike pulls a chair for Bella. 

"It's my pleasure."

Shelley chuckles to herself at his useless attempt of flirting with her sister. She has known her sister since she was born. Bella is definitely not into guys like Mike. Basically, the boyfriend history of the elder twin doesn't exist. Shelley tried to hook her with various types of guys back at Arizona and all the elder twin responded was 'I don't like him. He's not my type' as if she's immune to them, causing Shelley to finally give up.

"You guys can-" Eric walks to the twins.

"You know my friends?" Jessica asks the Asian kid.

"Hey Jess, you met my home girls, Bella & Shelley." Eric grins.

"Oh, you-yo-your home girls?" Mike questions. 

"Yeah, yeah. "Eric beams ear to ear.

"My girls." A guy suddenly kisses Bella's and Shelley's cheeks, and pulls Mike out from under him. "Sorry, I had to break your day, Mikey!"

Shelley laughs as Mike starts to chase Tyler through the lunch room.

"Oh my god, it's like the first grade all over again. You guys are the shiny new toys." Jessica says.

"Smile!" Another asian girl, Angela suddenly shows up and clicks her camera.

"Okay."

"Sorry, I needed a candid for the feature."

"Uhh..."

"Feature's dead, Angela. Don't bring it up again!"

"It's okay'we just…"

"I-I got your back baby." Eric pats on the blonde's shoulder and walks away.

"I guess we'll just run another editonal oh… teen drinking…" Angela starts.

"You know,you could always go for… eating disorders, speedo padding on the swim team." Bella cuts off.

"Actually, that's a good one." Angela says.

"Krik-" Jessica & Angela say at the same time.

"-right? That's exactly what I thought." Jessica says.

"We're talking 'Olympic-size." Angela says and Shelley looks around to notice a few extremely beautiful people outside the window walking to the lunch room door.

"There's no way. He's so skinny, it doesn't make sense."

"Totally." 

She hears Jessica and Angela continuing to ramble, but she keeps her eyes on the teenagers.

"Who're they?" Shelley randomly asks, making Jessica, Angela & Bella turn their heads towards the window.

"The Cullens." Angela answers.

"They're um… Dr. and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska like, a few years ago." Jessica explains.

"They kinda keep to themselves." Angela adds as a gorgeous blonde and a teddy bear-like guy enter the lunch room.

"Yeah, cause they're all together, like together  together." Jessica whispers as another pixie girl and a blond guy enter the lunch room after the previous Cullen siblings or whatever they call them. 

"Uh, the blonde girl, that's Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica says as Rosalie and Emmett pass behind the group.

"Jess, they're not actually related." Angela reasons.

"Yeah, but they live together. It's weird, and… okay, the little dark-haired girl's Alice…" Jessica explains as the blond guy spins Alice around. "…She's really weird, and um, she's with Jasper, the blond one who looks like he's in pain. Uh… Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash matchmaker."

"Maybe he'll adopt me." Jessica says dreamily as Jasper and Alice pass behind the group. Two guys pass the window just then.

"Who're they?" Bella asks this time as the same two guys enter the lunch room talking to each other.

"Are they also together? Like gay or something?" Shelley curiously questions.

Jessica laughs. "No they aren't together. They're twins like you two."

"Oh." Is what comes out the blonde's mouth.

"The tall cutie with bronze hair is Edward Cullen and the lovely face with brown curls is Esdras Cullen." Jessica clarifies. "They're totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently nobody here's good enough for them. Like I care, you know, uh. So… yeah."

Edward and Esdras pass the group and that's the point where the latter's eyes meet Shelley's. He is somehow so familiar. He stares at her with confused eyes for a fair few seconds, before his brother talks to him, making him snap out of his gaze. They join the same table with the other Cullens.

Shelley continues to stare at him, before Jessica speaks up. 

"Seriously right, don't waste your time."

The blonde turns her head to realise that Jessica was talking to Bella, who's drooling over Edward Cullen. God, at least she showed some interest in a guy. Now Shelley knows that she's not gay. She giggles at her own thoughts.

"I wasn't planning on it." Bella says.
