SUMMARY, DISCLAIMER & READER REVIEWS
Summary:
'La Belle et la Bête' was written by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in 1756. This is a retelling of her timeless fairy tale.
France is at war when the life blood of Antoine's business, his fleet of ships laden with the finest silks and exotic spices from Asia are confiscated. Without an income, Antoine, his daughters Marthe, Marie and Beauty leave fast paced and fashionable Paris for rural Avon, in the shadow of enchanted forêt de Fontainebleau.
The family is settling into their reduced circumstances, when news from Paris brings a glimmer of hope...until Antoine comes face to face with Beast.

@Sheenmcg - I am really impressed. Such a great retelling. Your talent is obvious and your ability to provoke a familiarity between the reader and characters is truly a gift. Few authors can do what you have done. Keeping the story authentic yet giving it a little more heart. Hats off to you Missy.
@SymphonyWaters - PLOT TWIST! The way you turned him into Beast was really cool. That's why I like retellings of a well known story because there's no way to predict how the author will recreate the story. You know the gist of how it will go because of the main story, but the author has a million and one ways to make it their own.
@nycgal38 - I absolutely LURVE this!!!! Amazing, touching, educational....it's the best! One of my favorite stories!
@SimranR - I really liked the way you took the story and added your own elements to it. The way the words were put together was really well done as well :) All in all a really good read, I read it like in 15 mins.
@Lovable_natZz - The sisters remind me of Anastasia and Drizella..Cinderella's step sisters.
@AmandaUrie23 - I love how in your version of beauty and the beast, you've given the beauty's sisters more character and made them more realistic as opposed to most accounts where the sisters are just bland and mean. I also like how you've given Belle a backstory. The best part in all of this is the historical accuracy, and the proper use of royal titles. It's my first time reading this and I'm so excited for what's to come!
@weripple - It was a shock, how this went. Well written. I like how cleverly you used your media.
@Chocoamour - Oh my God!!!!!!!! That was so good. I'm so glad I don't have to wait another week to read the next chap.❤
@brend_izzy - I loved this story! The way you retold it was amazing!
