| Beauty & The Beast | Chapter 6 |
A pair of doors swung open, the beast seeming not in a pleasant mood as he rushed in. "I asked her nicely, but she refuses." Vegeta slammed a wooden chair aside, approaching the magical rose. It had a beautiful pink color and floating upon air, shining brightly. The pink light seemed almost captivating upon sight. "What does she want me to do? Beg?!"
Vegeta quickly picked up the magic mirror. "Show me the woman!" A green glow emerged from the mirror before long you appeared having a conversion with Eighteen, the wardrobe.
"The master really isn't that half bad once you get to know him," Eighteen said, looking at you. "Why don't you give him a chance?"
"I don't want to know him! He just... just so mean to me." You replied with a sad expression and crossed arms over your chest. Your orbs gazed upon Eighteen. "I don't want anything to do with him!"
Unbeknownst to you, you had no idea that Vegeta was watching and despite the anger he felt towards you, he couldn't help but feel pain in his heart. With sadness consuming him, he placed the mirror on the table, shaking his head.
"What a fool I am... She'll never see me as anything else but a monster..." He whispered to himself, swearing to feel such sick sad emotion strongly than ever before. His dark eyes shifted towards a flower petal falling from the rose.
Time was running out.
-
Hunger was slowly taking over you. So, without wasting more time, you finally went out of your room, slowly making sure no one was watching you.
"I'm so hungry... I wonder what kind of food they might have." You said in a slight whisper before snucking down the hallway.
A snorting sound could be heard. Apparently, Kakarot had fallen asleep, but when the door closed, it had awoken him.
"Enfin! She has emerged!" He panicked slightly. For sure, Bardock would strangle him if he finds out he had fallen asleep.
While in the kitchen, ChiChi was putting Gohan into a cupboard to a good night sleep.
"Come on, Gohan, into the cupboard with the rest of them." She softly said, slightly pushing her son.
"But mom, I'm not sleepy! I'm a grown-up so I can stay up a little longer..." He gave out a yawn afterwards causing ChiChi to smile.
"Yes you are..." She went on and closed the cupboard. Her ears perked up Gohan's soft snoring.
"I worked and slaved myself to make all this food, and for what? A culinary dish gone to waste. Maybe we should have made Goku eat it all!" The angry stove exclaimed.
ChiChi shook her head. "Now, now, it's been a long night for all of us."
"She's a stubborn one if you ask me." Bardock spoke up, throwing a dishcloth on the floor angrily. "After all he did say 'please'."
"But if the master doesn't learn how to control his temper then he'll never break the sp- ..." ChiChi was cut off when Bardock noticed you entering the kitchen.
"Splendid to see you out and about, Mademoiselle! I'm Bardock." Bardock smiled before bowing and held out his hand for you.
Your lips curved up lightly as you crouched on the floor and was about to place your hand on the clock when Kakarot pushed him away. Smirking, he took your hand instead.
"... And this is the bloody carrot, Kakarot." Bardock said annoyed, gesturing towards said person, or candle.
"Salut beauté," Kakarot began kissing your hand.
"If there's anything..." Bardock glared at Kakarot. "Stop that, will you?" Before his eyes went back to you and continued. "That we can do to make your stay comfortable, please, do tell." He grunted as he finally got Kakarot out the way, but only to get burn once again by his lit candle light. "Ow!" Bardock shook his hand.
"Well, I am a little hungry..." You responded nervously.
ChiChi smiled. "You are? Hear that? She's hungry! Stoke the fire, break out the silver, wake the china!"
Krillin's stove roared to life, and drawers opened to reveal silverware standing tall at attention.
"Remember what the master said..." Bardock lowered his voice.
"Oh, pish dosh, Bardock please! I'm not about to let the poor girl go hungry to bed!" ChiChi exclaimed.
"Alright fine! Get some water, crust of bread, and then-" Bardock was about to finish his sentence when Kakarot interrupted.
"Dad, I'm surprised with you. She's not our prisoner. She's our guest. We must make her feel welcome here!" Kakarot said in disbelief. "Right this way, Mademoiselle." He gestured you to sit at a rather large table seeming to be for riches.
"Well, keep it down! If the master finds out, it'll be our necks!"
"Of course, of course, but... what is dinner without a little... music?" Kakarot wiggled his 'eyebrows' giving out a smirk to Bardock who glared back at him.
"Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with pride and deepest pleasure that we all welcome you tonight! Now, we invite you to relax and let us pull up a chair." All of a sudden, the chair behind you zoom up to you, allowing you to sit as Kakarot continued. "As the dining room proudly presents... your dinner!" He gestured to the silverware containing the food that appeared on the table.
"Be... Our... Guest
Be our guest
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin around your neck, cherie,"
You smiled, looking at the silverware dancing upon the table as the chair you're sitting on tried to tie a napkin around your neck, but instead you grabbed and placed it on your lap.
"And we provide the rest
Soup du jour,
Hot hors d'oeuvres,"
Two silverwares neared you, as one of them poured upon in the silver bowl soup.
"Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff,
It's delicious
Don't believe me?
Ask the dishes!"
Kakarot gestured to a several of silverware and plates.
"They can sing,
They can dance,
After all, miss, this is France
And the dinner here is never second best,"
He quickly approached you opening up a menu for you.
"Go on, unfold your menu,
Take a glance and then
You'll be our guest
Oui, our guest
Be our guest!"
You were enjoying the show, humming along with the tone as well while Kakarot sang and every single dish danced on the table as you began to eat whatever came on your way.
"Beef ragout,
Chinese souffle pie
And pudding "en flambe"
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret! You're alone
And you're scared
But the banquet's all prepared
No-one's gloomy or complaining
While the flatware's entertaining
We tell jokes, I do tricks
With my fellow candlesticks
And it's all in perfect taste
That you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You've won your own free pass
To be our guest!
If you're stressed,
It's fine dining
We suggest!"
At this point, Bardock is trying to quiet everyone down for the master might hear them causing such choas.
"Be our guest,
Be our guest,
Be our guest!"
Bardock tried pulling a silverware back to it's place only for him to be in the spotlight.
"Life is so unnerving
For a servant who's not serving
He's not whole without a soul to wait upon!"
He began to walk away once releasing the dish, but Kakarot grabbed onto him.
"Ah, those good old days when
We were useful...
Suddenly those good old days are gone."
Salt began snowing upon them, getting Bardock quite annoyed.
"Ten years we've been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise, a chance
To use our skills...
Most days we just lay
Around the castle
Flabby, fat and lazy
You walked in and oops-a-daisy!"
Kakarot dragged Bardock into a dance. "Let me go, you imbecile!" He growled, and searched for a way to escape, but it was useless for he was forced to dance as ChiChi began to sing;
"It's a guest,
It's a guest!
Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed
Wine's been poured
And thank the Lord
I've had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert
She'll want tea
And my dear that's fine with me
While the cups do their soft shoeing
I'll be bubbling, I'll be brewing
I'll get warm,
Piping hot
Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot?
Clean it up! We want the
Company impressed
We've got a lot to do
Is it one lump or two
For you, our guest?
She's our guest, she's our guest
She's our guest
Be our guest,
Be our guest,
Our command is your request,
It's ten years since
We had anybody here,
And we're obsessed!
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight's still glowing
Let us help you
We'll keep going!"
Several candlelights lifted up, to reveal at the end Kakarot returning on singing;
"Course by course
One by one
Till you shout
'Enough, I'm done!'
Then we'll sing you off to sleep
As you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up
But for now, let's eat up
Be our guest,
Be our guest,
Please, be our guest!"
It ended with silverware flying through air, plates and featherdusters dancing, as beautiful lights flashed in sight before Kakarot grabbed a hold of Bardock's hand and spun him around.
You smiled and clapped with excitement. Never before have you ever experienced anything like it. "Bravo! Bravo! That was wonderful!"
"Thank you, thank you, Mademoiselle!"
"Yes, wonderful indeed." Bardock chuckled before checking his own face. "Oh, well you look at the time! Off to bed with you!"
"But I can't possibly go to bed. It's my first time in an enchanted castle!"
"Enchanted...?" Bardock and Kakarot laughed nervously.
"Who said anything about the castle being enchanted...?" Bardock inquired and turned to glare at Kakarot. "You told her didn't you, boy!"
He began arguing with him, and started a small fight, but you calmed them when you said;
"I... I figured it out myself." Which caused them to look at you as well. "I would like to look around... if it's alright, I mean..." You inquired softly and Kakarot nodded much to Bardock's disapproval.
"Would you like a tour?"
"Wait a second, Kakarot," Bardock turned to gaze at him. "We can't let her go poking around in certain places."
"Perhaps you could show me? You seem to know more about the castle than anyone else." The tip of your lips curved up into a bright smile. Good thing Bardock was a clock at that moment for if he wasn't he would have blushed.
And so he agreed on showing you around.
