| Beauty & The Beast | Chapter 5 |
How long has it been since you had broken down? You didn't know, and you didn't care. There was nothing else for you to do, but cry. You layed with your face on the pillow, sniffing softly and recovering from the sobbing awhile ago. You felt like doing nothing but drown into your sadness at this point. The Universe didn't even give a damn about that instead it seemed to like your suffering.
A soft tapping resounded through the door.
"Yes...?" Your voice choked out hoarsely. The fault of the sobbing affecting your throat to become dry. "Who is it?"
"It's ChiChi," You heard a woman voice from the other side of the door.
Drawn to the sweet feminine voice, you got up from the bed and headed over to the door. Your fingers grasped around the door-knob before you opened it. You peeked out and your eyes sighted nothing, but mid-air.
"I thought you might like a cup of tea, dear." Your ears captured the tone once again from below you, and then you looked down noticing a teapot with a small cup following behind.
Your [e/c] orbs widened in disbelief. "Y-You're a..." You couldn't believe it - not one bit.
... It was a talking teapot!
In your state of shock, you backed up from the talking object and stumbled upon the wardrobe beside the bed. A grunt was heard.
"Oof! Be careful, would you?" It spoke, causing you to turn to discover she was also moving and talking. It was a color blonde on the top wood-work, and white, brown, blue going down below. Even as pissed as she seemed at first, a small chuckle could be heard from the wardrobe. You backed up to the bed, before the back of your knees bended as they hit the mattress.
Inner shock engulfed you. This was all impossible. There was no way all this was true. An enormous, arrogant beast was unbelievably enough, but talking and moving furniture? Is way beyond the imagination!
"This can't be true...!" You exclaimed.
"Ah, but aren't we here, child?" ChiChi chimed, a beaming smile formed upon her teapot face, tilting her spout towards the cup. Fresh hot tea poured like heavy rain into the small cup, and it scooted over to you carefully to not spill any of the hot liquid. You picked up the cup hesitantly and took a small sip out of it.
The cup began to wiggle and lightly laugh. "That tickles!"
A gasp came slightly from you as your eyes drifted at the bubbly face of the cup with a smile. "And your name?" You inquired politely, your rosy lips curved upwards ttying to look happy as possible.
"My name's Gohan," He replied, his excitement almost causing the tea to spill earning himself a stern glance from his mother.
"So, what sort of attire best suits supper?" The wardrobe interrupted, and sighed afterwards. "Maybe I shall have a look in my drawers?" But even before she can even have a look, they all popped out uncontrollably, as clothes plus butterflies flew out all of a sudden. You backed up, securing Gohan in your hand and waving away any butterflies that came to your face.
"Ah, damn -- what a mess!" Eighteen grumbled as she opened the two large wooden doors that revealed very expensive dresses. "Hm, this one seems fine -- you'll look quite nice, if I say so myself."
Dinner with that beast... That bastard monster. You couldn't possibly do it -- over your dead body will you go eat with him. He was a nightmare, no worst than a nightmare, since you laid your eyes upon him. He treated both you and your sister cruelly without a care in the world.
"Very kind of you, and I thank you, but I am not attending dinner with him." With that said, everyone turned silent -- their smiles flipping.
"But, girl... he implores you to go. You must!" Eighteen exclaimed, a scowl upon her features with a tone of urgency, as if warning you that your life depended on this. You were about to protest when once again a few knocks on the door rang.
"Ahem." Everyone turned to sight Bardock, the clock you saw when you first came in. "Your dinner awaits, milady." He said in a polite voice, but contained no sincerity.
-
The dinning room seemed empty except for the presence of the beast, Kakarot, and ChiChi. But there was no sign of [F/n]. This detested Vegeta. You were suppose to be here awhile ago.
"I've commanded her to come over. She takes her precious time... Is there any reason she does not arrive?!" He shouted over to ChiChi and Kakarot. They both flinched in response.
"Master, I don't mean to speak against your decision, but perhaps the girl needs alone time. She has lost her sister and her normal life." ChiChi spoke gently that greatly contrasted the beast's.
"Master," called out the candelabra. "Do you see? This young lady may be our freedom. She could break the curse brought upon us!"
"Of course I have noticed, imbecile! What do you take me for, a fool?" The beast growled, continuing on pacing back and forth while his temper boiled. He knew well you were the key to unlock the chain, and Vegeta was willing to do anything in order to learn to love. But the problem was his intense inner conflict and inferiority complex. He had no absolute idea how to express such emotion properly. Once he saw you, he understood that this was his only chance to change his life all around, but his confidence lacked in approaching her in a more proper way. It was killing him in the inside. As if that wasn't enough pressure, Vegeta was running out of time before the curse became permanent.
"We must act quickly!" Kakarot spoke. "We must make her fall in love with you before midnight. We will break the curse in no time!"
ChiChi looked at him with distaste. "Now, now, Goku dear, that's all wrong. Unfortunately those sort of things take time. Love is very complicated ordeal, especially with someone as delicate and yet strong as the lady."
The conversation between them was only irritating Vegeta more. It was lowering his confidence and even below to zero. "It's just not possible... Not even a precious gem can compare to her, but... look at me!" He gestured to himself as throwing his arms in frustration. Kakarot and ChiChi slightly flinch, before feeling sympathy for the poor fellow.
But then the teapot gave a soft smile. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Master. You must present yourself so she may see the good things in you and see past what's displayed."
".... I've no idea how."
ChiChi's eyes widened, before her face turned into one of determination as she hopped down from her place. "Well, one thing you must work on is your confidence, Master. Straighten your posture and look gentlemanly!" Upon that, Vegeta quickly straightened as if he was a soldier upon standing in attention.
Kakarot hopped over with enthusiasm. "Yes, and you must always show a handsome and gentle smile!"
The beast gave it a shot by revealing a toothy grin, but regardless that was enough for both of them.
Over and over, the teapot and candelabra threw out loads of advice to him, which only began to frustrate Vegeta. He eventually covered his ears trying to tune them out. He didn't hear them much when they shouted, "Please do control your temper!" But his ears did caught the squeaking of the door as it slowly opened.
The beast perked up in complete excitement, only to frown and growl when Bardock came in. "Good... evening. What a lovely night, isn't it?" He stated, a bit nervous.
Vegeta clicked his tongue. "Where, may I ask, is the girl?" He said in a low voice.
Bardock gulped down before clearing his throat, calming down his nervousness. "Umm, sir, the thing is, the girl is suffering through a great deal of emotional trouble. And she feels as if she needs more time in seclusion..." He sighed. "... She's not attending."
"What?!" The beast bursted through the door in a fit of anger, running towards the stairs that led up to your room. ChiChi, Kakarot, and Bardock followed, shouting out in fear that he should not do any harm. Vegeta froze to a stop upon arriving to your room, and gave three harsh bangs on the door. It shook the place and made you jolt in awake. "How dare you defy me?! I command you to attend dinner!"
"I refuse!" Was your reply, but held a small amount of fear.
"Come out, I say! I will blow this door down!" His blood boiled the more he shouted before ChiChi interfered.
"I've advised you to be gentle, Master." She harshly whispered.
Sighing, Vegeta tried his best to be less harsh. "Please, come to dinner." He asked in a grumpy matter.
"No," You replied. He pointed to the door glared at ChiChi.
"Master, gently." Bardock warned.
"I... would be honored if you joined me for dinner." Vegeta continued without exploding. Bardock grunted. "Please."
"Thank you, but I don't want to!" You snapped back. This time the beast ticked and exploded.
"Do you plan to stay in there forever?!"
"I just might be!"
"Very well! Then sit in there and starve! Like I care!" He glanced to ChiChi, Kakarot, and Bardock. "If she refuses to eat with me, then she will not eat at all!" He growled, before stumping off to his room, and slamming the door behind him.
"Well, that certainly went as we hoped it would." ChiChi grumbled.
Bardock turned to Kakarot. "You, stay put and guard the door. By all means, don't let her out, son. Warn me if she should try." Kakarot immediately started walking back and forth like a guard not allowing a prisoner to escape.
"What a day -- I assume, we should go down to the dinning room and tidy up." Bardock let a sigh.
