I heard the front door slam shut and heavy footsteps climb the stairs. He was home. My bedroom door was pushed open. There before me stood my worst nightmare. His shaggy blonde hair stuck to his forehead a bottle of beer in hand. He entered my room and slammed the door shut behind him.
"Did......you.....miss......meeeeeeee?" he questioned with a slur in his words due to the alcohol.
I couldn't respond afraid of what would happen if I answered and he didn't like my response. He took one last swig of his beer bottle before throwing it on the floor. I thought that he would beat me like he normally does but he didn't. He started undoing his pants and took off his shirt. I knew what he wanted to do. I curled in the corner of my queen-sized bed praying, hoping that I would be too small to be noticed. He pulled my leg towards him and tore my shirt apart. I tried fighting and pushing him off but to not available. That only seemed to make him angrier. He started punching me till he was sure I was too weak to fight against him. He then pulled my jeans and my underwear down my legs in one go. I knew what was to come next and I could do nothing to stop it. I just closed my eyes and tried to not feel anything. Please nooooooooooooo......I woke up in my bed drenched in sweat. I look at my bedside table and see that it's 3 in the morning. I know can't go back to sleep. I go to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. After all these years and he still haunts me. I hear footsteps descend the stairs. I already know it's my best friend and roommate since forever Adeline.
"Hey.....I heard you screaming and came to check up on you."
I try to smile when answering her because I don't her to worry about me.

She just smiles and leads me to her room. We get into bed and I settle in the crook of her neck with her arms tightly wrapped around her waist." Do you think the girls heard?"
