Walking into Adam's room I found him already lying on his toy bed. Upon noticing y entry a huge smile immediately adorned his handsome face and I realized how much I  had missed him. I sat down next to him and took his tiny hand into mine. 

'Hello, my handsome prince charming. A little birdie told me that you were sick and had a major operation and you were very brave and didn't even cry. So I have a little gift for you.'

I went into my bag and got him the Chase stuffed animal which I had bought for him a few days back but hadn't found the right time to give to him.

'Thankyou thank you thank you...You got me my favorite paw patrol character.' He immediately wrapped his arms around my neck squeezing me tightly. I knew he would love his little gift since Chase is the only character he talked about and Paw patrol was the best cartoon in the whole world.

He then went ahead to tell me about the surgery and how he has been doing. He missed school and played with the girls since it had been a while since he had seen them and he was not allowed to play since the wound was still fresh. 

According to Xena, he would be back to school in a week. After chatting with him for a few more minutes I left him to take his nap and went back to Xena's room where I found her lying in bed and staring at the ceiling. I wanted to spend more time with Xena but I had to head home and make dinner with the girls.

'Hi. Am heading out now.' with that she stood up and walked me out. She then thanked me for dropping by and enveloped me in a tight hug before letting me go.

When I got home the girls and I prepared the taco ingredients and waited for Ade so that we could eat together. We then went back to bed since it was a school night.

The next few weeks went by in a blur and Xena came back to school the week after I had gone to visit her. Everything was going great, and Xena and I were also doing great and becoming closer. She would sometimes come over and spend time with us and we steel met for our Saturday park outings. it was now Saturday and I had just put the girls to bed.

"Girl give me the money I left in the kitchen." I had just come back from school and when I got home I found the house in a mess there were papers everywhere. I could see that he was angry.
"I used it to pay for the bus to school."
"Who gave you permission to take my damn money?"
He asked as he swung an empty bear bottle at me which missed my face by an inch. He came towards me and with every step, he took forward I would take one back until my back hit the wall. He delivered a hard slap to my face and from there the hits just kept coming. My whole body hurt and I knew that I wouldn't be able to attend school the following day. I was now on the floor and I saw him take a chair about to hit me with it and I panicked and let out an ear pierced g scream.
"Please.....nooooooo............"

When I woke up I was in my bed drenched in sweat and I was sure my eyes were bloodshot from crying. I just hoped that nobody heard me. I knew that I wouldn't be able to fall back to sleep so I just took my sketch pad and just started drawing. It always helped to calm me down.
