Agent B's point of view
"Is the sight right in the middle?" I asked him and he looked at me. "Eyes on the sight Calum. Right in the middle. Anyone can shoot a gun but if you want to shoot a gun properly, listen to me. Is the sight right in the middle?"
"Yeah."
"Good." I said and straightened his arms out. "Don't move. Head up and staring down the sight, your hands cannot tremble." He said and as soon as I let go, they trembled.
I huffed in frustration and then went beside him, holding his arms straight. "Still." I said and he nodded as he aimed at the sack of rice. "Are you aimed?" I asked and he nodded. "Pull the trigger." I said and he was hesitant. "Pull the trigger." I repeated as I stepped away.
He pulled the trigger, the recoil of the gun nearly sending the weapon flying back. "You weren't trying hard enough to keep it still." I said and took the gun, reloading it since I didn't have a full clip in it.
"Did I-Did I hit the target?"
"You were off but you hit the bag." I said and he smiled in accomplishment. I chuckled and he hugged me as I loaded the gun. "I guess years of gun shooting came in handy."
"You must be a good shot, you were drafted into the military." He told me and I nodded as he pulled away awkwardly. "Story time?"
"How about no?" I said and he pouted as I looked and the gun. "Fine." I said and he smiled at me.
"There's all rather morose." I told him and he shrugged. "I think, the one I remember the most, is when I had to kill a little boy. That was... That was very... soul shattering you can say."
"It must have taken guts to pull the trigger on a kid..." He told me and I nodded. "Why?"
"We were in Iran and... and our orders was to shoot all who have weapons. He held a grenade and to this day... years in the future, it still haunts me. It was the first time I ever killed a person under ten years old. It fucked me up."
"That's scary." He commented and I nodded. "Did you drop the military or like..."
"Had too." I said and laughed sarcastically. "It's funny because, America sees all these countries as threats to us, but really, they had no trouble with us until we invaded and set up camps in their areas. America, they kill to show killing is wrong. They give this sense of power and authority to people who-who abuse it. America... America is fucked Calum, and yet, people still claim it's the greatest country."
"Clearly." He said and I sighed. "It's pretty though." He said and I shook my head.
"Pretty doesn't make up for shit. That's like dating a psychotic girl because she's attractive and everyone else says she's wonderful." I told him and he shrugged.
"What are you gonna do about your position? Isn't talking shit about America a big taboo if you're in a position of power yourself?" He asked and I looked at the ground.
"I don't know." I said honestly and then looked him in the eyes. "I don't want this-this horrid job but it's all I know. It's fucking me up Calum but so much have gone into this that I can't just back out. Too many scars. Too many memories." I said and realized we were off topic.
"If you want my advice... um, if you don't like it, quit. Find a way out." He said and I handed him the gun.
"Try hitting the middle of the circle Cal." I said and he looked at the gun. "Unless you don't want to, that's cool." I butt in, feeling like sounded too bossy right there.
He looked into my eyes and then at the gun before holding it up straight, his hands still. I couldn't fight the small smile that tugged on my lips and he smiled aswell as I positioned his arms.
"Fire."
-
"Thanks." I said as Calum helped me change my bandages. He shrugged and we tossed the old ones away. "It's disgusting when you have to touch someone else's blood."
"We have soap, I'll live." He told me and I nodded. "Let's go wash our hands." He said and held a hand up, helping me stand.
We went to the kitchen and I washed my hands as Calum drizzled soap on them. "Hey Calum-uh." We looked over and it was Michael.
"Hey Mikey." He said and I dried my hands on my pants. "What's up?"
"Ash wanted to know if you want to play Fifa..."
"I'm good." Calum said and I grabbed a glass, filling it with water from the tap. I put some ice into it and the Calum followed me out to the couch.
"I want to go back home. This hotel room is nice and all, but it's making me anxious." Calum told me and I nodded. "I feel like someone is going to come in, guns blazing, and hurt people who have no business in this."
"What I've learned is that sometimes you have to think about yourself before anyone else." I said and he shrugged. "You can't save everyone and everyone can't save you."
"Deep."
"Not really, just life." I said and he shrugged. "There is a lot of things I've learned from all of this; mistakes happen, accept it, you're not going to be perfect but that's okay, and most importantly, you don't need anyone but yourself."
"Seems lonely. I think I'd die if I didn't have the band with me." He told me anyone I shrugged as I scratched my head.
"All you need is-"
"Love." He sang and and stood up. "All you need is love, love, love is all you need." He grabbed my hand and I rolled my eyes at him.
"You're a moron, please let me go." I said and he just laughed as he forced me to dance around.
I shook my head and he danced around the room, dragging me along with him. I decided not to fight it and then just danced with him as he sang songs from The Beatles.
I rolled my eyes and he smiled. "Are you gonna sing with me?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I'm not a singer."
"Well we're not a dancers but here we are." He said and I shrugged, telling him he was right. "Do you not know any songs from them?"
"I can't remember any off the top of my head." I said and he hummed a Bon Jovi song. He sang the lyrics to Runaway and I looked around the hotel room.
"Ooh, she a little run away." I sang and he smiled, telling me I wasn't that bad. "But it's not great, am I right?" He shrugged and I rolled my eyes, my lips lifting into a half smile. "I don't sing."
"What the hell?" Someone asked and we jumped apart from one another. I looked and then saw Luke and Michael. "What's going on?"
"Nothing."
"Bullshit. There's something going on here, between you too." Luke said as he crossed his arms. "I don't like it."
"Never asked for your opinion, now did we?" Calum asked and I looked at Luke, unamused and slightly aggravated.
"Now isn't the time for relationships Cal-"
"We're not dating." I stated, projecting my voice so they can hear better. "I'm not even straight." I said and Michael nodded
"She's gay, remember?"
I nodded and he rolled my eyes. "Well, whatever is going on, should stop. We have more important matters than dancing around and singing songs, like finding Rachael." Luke said and Calum scoffed.
"Who do you think you are Luke? You can't boss me around. I'm my own boss and if I want to forget about the fact I'm walking the rope between life and death every day, I will and no blonde, big headed, hypocritical asshole is gonna stop me." Calum said and I put my arm against his chest, silently telling him to stand down.
"Where did that come from?" Michael asked incredulously. "What's gotten into you Calum?"
"Nothing." Calum said and shook his head. "There's nothing wrong with me. I'm just so tired of people telling me what to do like I'm some lost puppy. I'm aware of what's going on and I'm aware of what choices I'm making. I don't need you, or anyone else, to tell me what to do."
"Clearly you do when you think our best friend wants to kill us and you're here being mushy with our bodyguard, who's name we still do not know!" Luke exclaimed and I rolled my eyes.
"Both of you need to shut the fuck up or I'll shut you both up myself." I told them and they were silent. "We're not he being mushy and your best friend is trying to kill you." I told him.
"You have no place to talk, you don't know her like we do." Michael butt in and Calum told him to fuck off. "Instead you're here getting touch-y feel-y with a murderer and and taking her side over ours."
"She's right here, don't talk about her as if she's gone." Calum said and pushed me away. "Besides, we're not getting touch-y feel-y, how many times do we have to say it?"
"You don't get that close to people during times like this-"
"Need I remind you, you were having sex and making out with our last bodyguard when-"
"Calum don't bring Savanna into this-"
"Then cool it between me and Agent B because we aren't even friends, let alone close. It's just you're all so self-centered and judgemental and you don't bother to get to know someone-"
"I'm judgemental? You were just like us until she made you whipped-"
"She didn't do anything-"
"I'll shoot all of you if you don't shut up, now." I threatened, quite fed up with their arguing, and they quieted down. "Arguing won't get us anywhere. Believe what you will but keep your voices down, we are in a hotel and we can get kicked out." I said and they nodded.
"Sorry Agent." Calum apologized and I ignored it.
"Go play games or something. We don't need arguing and if I have to separate you all, I'll do it, don't think that I won't because I will." I said lowly. "Have I made myself clear?"
"Crystal." Luke muttered and then went back to the room with Ashton. Michael followed silently and I sat down.
"You okay?" Calum asked and I told him that my head hurt. "Want an asprin?"
"Sure, thanks." I said and he nodded before going to the small kitchen. I sighed and closed my eyes as I yawned, extremely tired and done with everything.
