~Mitch's POV~
It was currently midnight and I was having a hard time sleeping. So I had gotten out of bed and began to wander the halls. I had just walked around the corner when I saw a little candlestick walk in front of me.
To avoid stepping on him, I basically tripped over my own feet.
"Watch out!" I exclaimed loudly. Preston turned just in time to hop out of the way of my falling body.
"Misour! Are you okay?" Preston asked concerned. "C'est ma faute, it's my fault. I am very sorry."
I stood up and brushed myself off.
"Non, it was me. I should've been paying more attention." I answered as I crouched down to Preston's level.
"Anyway, I must go find Jess. Au Revoir!" Preston stated as he hopped away.
"Au Revoir!" I exclaimed as he went along his way. As soon as he was out of sight, I began to sing a little song I had created.
"Hunger Games,
I wanna win I win it all,
I wanna win all da-a-ay,
I'm not teamin',
I'm not teamin',
You should've learned how to pla-a-ay,
Yes I win it all,
Sure I'll win it all,
I wanna win all da-a-ay,
I'm not teamin',
I'm not teamin',
You should've seen my last Hunger Games!
I kept on mumbling the song until I found myself outside in a small archery range. I smiled happily as I brushed my fingers over a wooden bow that sat in a nearby bush. I lifted it up and found that it fit in my hand perfectly. I grabbed a quiver of arrows and walked over to the farthest target. I pulled an arrow out of the quiver and attached the end to the string of my bow.
I pulled the arrow back to my cheek and let out a small breath, aligned the arrow with the middle of the target, and released the arrow. A noisy "thump" was heard as the arrow hit the target right in the bullseye.
"Nice shot." A voice from behind me stated.
I turned my head, to see the Beast leaning against one of the many pillars that surrounded the area.
"Thank you." I said kindly.
He just nodded to acknowledge that he heard me. I turned my head away and loaded up another arrow.
"Tu sais, I never got your name." I told him as I lined up my shot and releasing it so it went right through the first arrow.
"My name is Jerome. And you're Mitch, correct?" The person I now know as Jerome questioned.
"Oui, you have that correct." I replied as I set down the bow and quiver and walked over to where he was standing.
"So, what brings you out here anyway? Had trouble sleeping?" Jerome inquired. I nodded my head.
"Oui. I could not sleep. So I wandered around the castle for a bit. I got lost in my en chantant and found myself out here. I saw the archery course and decided to try it out since archery is one of my favorite pastimes, besides reading bien sur." I answered truthfully as I sat down on the ground in front of him.
Jerome sat down across from me and lent on the pillar behind him.
"You sing? Do you mind if I hear? I've always loved the sound of singing." Jerome stated.
"I guess. Do you have a preference?" I asked.
"Could you possibly sing a song my mother sang to me when I was younger? It's called Endstone." Jerome asked sheepishly.
I perked up at the name of the song my grandfather had created as a lullaby for me when I was a baby.
"You've heard that song too? I thought only my grand-pere knew?" I asked curiously.
"Well, maybe your grandfather was the man who would come and sing me to sleep every night. So, can you sing it?" Jerome asked again. I nodded and began to sing the words.
PLAY SONG NOW!
I'm crafting our home,
On Endstone,
Like a lone,
Minecrafter,
Staring at you,
From afar,
In the End,
The dragon's den,
Still there's nothing,
I wouldn't do,
To trade places with you,
The sound of cannons drum,
We scare tributes, they run,
To carry love,
To the Endstone,
We want to bash some skulls,
Until our axes dull,
Remember our love,
In the Endstone,
We can't escape,
From our fate,
All alone,
Without my bro,
The nightmares,
Of the ti-i-ime,
I chopped you,
That deathmatch,
Still there's nothing,
That I would do,
To trade places with you,
The zombies chase we run,
We're scared this is not fun,
To carry our love,
To the Endstone,
We prep for launch right now,
The dragon knew, what how?
Remember our love,
In the Endstone,
It's time to get away,
And start our new home,
And I'm ready to take off with you,
Yeah,
We going far away,
To the place of Endstone,
I'd give my life to trade places with you!
The Ender Dragon roars,
Spits fire and then roars
Remember our love
In the Endstone
Don't want to be alone
Not here without my bro,
Remember our love
In the Endstone
Remember our love
In the Endstone
Remember our love.....
I finished singing the song and looked over at Jerome. He had tears in his eyes and a smile on his face.
"Je vous remercie Mitch. You have an amazing voice." Jerome said as he stood up. I stood up with him and gave him a warm smile.
"Je vous remercie Jerome. I actually quite enjoyed that." I replied happily.
"Say, could you teach me how to shoot a bow? I've never been that good. Maybe I could show you how to do something in return?" Jerome asked as he rubbed the back of his neck with his fur covered hand.
"Sure that should be intéressant." I replied happily. I guided him over to where I set down the bow and held in out to him.
"Here, hold this in your main gauche. And then you'll pull back your bow string with your main droite." I said as he nervously grabbed the bow.
Jerome grabbed an arrow out of the quiver and struggled to attach it to his string. I walked over to his left side and guided his hands to where they needed to be. I helped him put his arrow on the string and pulled his hands back with the string.
"So you gotta pull the arrow back with two fingers until you touch your cheek. Then you're gonna wanna line up the tip of the arrow, with the top of the bullseye. Here, essaye le!" I said as I walked back a few steps.
Thank god it was dark out, otherwise he would be able to see the blush sitting in my face.
I watched as Jerome let out a shaky breath before releasing the arrow. The arrow sailed through the air and hit the target dead on.
"There you go! Bon travail Jerome!" I congratulated. He just stared at the target with a goofy smile on his face.
"I did it, I actually did it!" Jerome said as he dropped the bow and turned to me, the smile still on his face.
He walked towards me and lifted me off the ground into a big hug, starting to spin around.
"Je vous remercie biggums!" Jerome said happily. He then suddenly stopped. He dropped me on my feet. Blush covered my face as well as his as well. At least I think. Can't tell with all the fur.
"Biggums?" I asked confused.
"Oh, it means friend in the bacca language." Jerome stated shyly.
I smiled.
"I like it. Well, we should head inside and at least try to sleep. RIght biggums?" I asked as I started walking away.
"HEY! Attends-moi!" Jerome yelled as I started to run away. I chuckled as he started to chase me, causing me to run faster.
~3rd Person POV~
The inhabitants of the castle hid in the shadows as they watched the two chased each other around the castle and it's grounds. They believed Mitch was the one, the one that would end this terrible curse.
Lachlan secretly shipped it. As well as Jess and Jen, the only girls in the entire castle.
Meanwhile, in Mitch's village, Crainer had barged into the bar, where Ty sat sulking about his failed proposal to Mitch.
"TY! I NEED YOUR AIDEZ-MOI!" Crainer yelled as he entered the packed bar.
"What do you want old man?" Ty snapped angrily as he stood up from his chair.
"IT'S A BEAST! HE HAS MITCH LOCKED UP IN HIS CASTLE! S'il vous plait!"" Crainer stammered as he walked over to Ty and got down on his knees. "I'll do anything!"
Hearing those words, Ty's frown turned into a smirk.
"Anything?" He asked.
Crainer nodded frantically.
"Fine. If I save Mitch from this so called beast, then I shall get Mitch' hand in marriage." Ty explained as he turned and sat back down in his chair.
Crainer glared at Ty for a second before finally agreeing, even though it killed him inside.
In the corner of the room, Joseph and Seto had watched the whole thing unfold. They looked at each other for a second before rushing out the door. They grabbed a couple horses and set off to find the castle, in hopes of finding Mitch before Ty does.
