Moaning and groaning was a clear ring in her ears as she listenned to Seth complain about something while in wolf form. The boy must have been just within reach of the others because Esme across from her could barely contain her smile at the sound.

Both of them were gathered in the kitchen, cooking something large for the wolves and light for Bella. It kept then busy, distracted from the hunger that was only growing. It had been just around two weeks for Reyna now, her body a buzz and her instincts growing harder to control even with Jasper's help.

The duo had spent much more time together out front with Emmett, the three taking watch almost constantly so they could work through the agony that they felt, Reyna hovering just within sight of the house.

Wrapping another sandwich with quick movements, Reyna added it to the stack they had created. She heard ths fast approaching steps before the others did, only Seth's grumbling giving away the newcomer.

It wasn't a threat, Edward not moving from his seat by Bella, so she did little more than begin to assemble the necessary things for more sandwiches.

A whole night and nothing had occured, one where she blanked out the phone call that echoed through her head with the company of idiot boys that pushed and pushed her harder.

Gathering the sandwiches on a large platter, Reyna greeted Carlisle with a gentle smile when she stepped outside. He looked so tired and worn out, and Reyna wondered if she looked much the same, or perhaps worse than he did.

Just in time to see Jacob coming up to the house, she held the tray out with a smile.

"Who came?" She asked, voice impossibly hopeful.

Jacob shook his head. "Leah, ditched the others. You make these?"

Her joy faltered, snagging on other silly emotions, before her smile came back in full. "Yes, Esme helped with a few."

Nodding, he grabbed a few from the tray before moving to head inside with Carlisle, both taking about Bella quietly.

"Go ahead and see the others, but don't get too upset if Leah gets prickly," Jacob warned, uncharacteristically kind, and Reyna was already eternally grateful for it.

She nodded, smile growing as she followed the trail he had made to the scents of the others. Seth she knew already, finding it easy to follow, and Reyna kicked up the speed, careful of the food as she darted through the trees after them.

Catching up was like a silly game, Seth's snorting at the fun he was having was enough to keep her at it for a little while longer, letting him have his fun before she planted herself down within view of the house and waited patiently.

A small, tawny wolf crept forward through the snapping branches underfoot as he grew closer, and from behind was a sleek silver that twisted forward snappishly.

Reyna picked up a sandwich, carefully unwrapping it and holding it out to Seth as an offer. He took it with a happy yip, chomping down and swallowing it in one go.

She repeated the gesture with Leah, holding it out, but the girl stood steady. Her smile remained as she tossed it to her brother instead.

"Thank you, Leah, for coming to help. Even if it was only for your brother." She said, casually unwrapping another sandwich and tossing it to the boy. "I don't mean to pry, but I wonder if Embry, did he . . . ?"

The silver wolf appraised her a moment before ducking behind a tree. The sound of cracking as she shifted caused her to wince, a shiver running down her spine as she continued to feed Seth.

Human, Leah came around and dropped herself on the ground a few feet away, leaning against a tree and motioning for a sandwich. Reyna offered her the whole platter, keeping a few for Seth.

"He cried. It was strange how much he cried," Leah told her. "He never wanted you before, never took the time to consider what it could mean for you both. Just didn't want to be with a bloodsucker."

The term was used unapologetically, and Reyna didn't feel offended in the slightest.

"I used to be cheerleading captain. Our sports teams might have been awful, but my squad was great," Reyna reminisced, the sting in her eyes nothing more than the burden of unshed tears. "My position helped earn me a spot at my dream college, early admission. I was all set to for New York a few weeks after graduation. I never got to graduate."

Leah chewed slowly, watching her as she unwrapped some more and gave the food to Seth.

"What happened?" The shifter finally asked.

She closed her eyes, the moment everything went wrong easily shining against the back of her eyelids. "I was supposed to meet Bella for dinner but she was late. That creep Riley snatched me before I could even realise he was there. I had met him once, before he went missing."

Seth nudged her with his big head, huffing a sigh into her hair. "I wanted to be this great architect with a cute little house of my own design and a family. I had such great plans before I died. I never wanted this, I think Bella's the only one that wants this. Dying as a vampire is much harder than you would think. I tried in the beginning."

Leah snorted, ripping off a bite of her food. "I know what it's like to not get the life you planned. To be unwanted."

Reyna looked up at the girl, catching the misery for what it was instantly. "Don't give up though. You deserve someone that will want you so completely that it'll make your head spin. You have millions of chances and opportunities."

"They treat me like I'm a burden," the girl spat.

"Then none of them are worth it. If they don't treat you right then don't interact at all. That pack doesn't deserve the very first female shifter, an idol and a legend all on its own," the vampire stated, unrepentant of how preachy she might come off as. Seth gave the ground a pat with his paw and Reyna took it as agreement. "I'm rooting for you, Leah, even if it takes years. I'll definitely be around to see it."

The girl laughed, unwrapping another sandwich when Seth snapped his head up, Reyna following closely.

She stood, head tilting as she listenned closely to the approaching group. Three, maybe four, more than the small pack could handle.

"Leah, shift quick. Seth, call Jacob and get going," Reyna ordered, the other girl not bothering to argue as she ditched the food and began to strip as soon as her brother was out of sight.

"Are you coming with or heading to the lair?" Leah asked, stepping out of her pants.

"I'll follow. It's pretty close for numbers just the three of you," Reyna said, kicking off her heels in a swift motion.

"Great. Race you," Leah grinned, backing up to shift before launching forward in a dead sprint.

Her toes curled, digging into the earth before she kicked off after her, the wind whistling past her as she picked up speed. She was on Leah's trail, kicking up and using trees to flip her up and over the wolf, landing so she was side by side with her as they ran.

Seth's forlorn howl pierced the sky as they got closer, feet digging harshly into the ground to keep up the speed she had.

It was for the best, she assumed, when they came across where Seth was stationed, shoulders bunched, and Leah dragged herself around to skid to a stop - teeth snagging at the back of her shirt to pull her steady just in time for the others to see when they arrived.

There were four, none recognisable to her, despite one being in human form.

Reyna fingered the tiny holes at the awkward standoff, eyeing the boy across from her as he openly gaped.

She remained behind the wolves, directly behind Jacob as he spoke with his pack.

"White flag of truce Jake. We're here to talk," the boy finally said. "Uh, hi Reyna."

The vampire looked him over. "Hello."

"Right, no offense or anything at all, but you look like shit," the boy remarked, earning a wolfy chuckle from Leah. Reyna kicked dirt in her direction.

"I'm aware, thank you."

"Right," he drew the word out carefully. "Is there something wrong because Embry would freak."

Reyna sighed. "Are you not here to speak with Jacob? Because I know for certain that this is not about me. Just pretend like I'm not even here."

And then she took a step back, enjoying the feel of a cool trickling over her as she blinked out of sight - invisible to the eye. The smallest one startled pawing at the earth nervously, but was eventually silenced by the will of the other two that were shifted.

Reyna wonderes how many were actually shifted, who was out there listening in, and she considered what it could mean that Embry wasn't here - the boy being one of the more experienced shifters, she knew.

Jacob must have sensed something could be wrong because Leah darted off and she could almost imagine a trail of dust flying behind the girl. Reyna blinked smiling lightly knowing well that no one could see her.

A snap of bones breaking, and she held her eyes shut tight.

"Oh," the other boy said. "Hey Jake."

"Hey, Jared. Uh Reyna, you don't mind do you?" Jacob asked, sort of shyly.

She snorted, pulling off her ruined top and tossing it as his back. "Cover up, Leah won't appreciate any surpises."

"Yeah, yeah, just don't look," Jacob grumbled.

"Wouldn't dream of it," Reyna said. "I'll head back to the house anyway, Leah and Seth tore through those sandwiches so I'll work up something else."

Seth wagged his tail, ears perking up. The wolves on the other side shared a glance, one she could read as surprise at her statement.

Not bothering to look too far into, she said, "I'll see you back at the house later, Jake."

"Wait, Reyna," Jared called, and she found that it was a very bad first meeting. "Embry will want to know how you are, if you're alright."

She blinked at him, allowing herself to flicker into focus, but she didn't find any humour in how quickly they avoided looking at her. Her bra was a very pretty, lacy little thing and Reyna felt no shame in displaying it.

"Tell him I'm worried that he's going to kill my best friend and her baby," Reyna said, turning her back on them. "Or tell him what he'll want to hear."

She darted off in the direction of the house throwing herself into it with more force than she should have, leaving cracks and craters in her wake as she careened forward. Something about the way they spoke about him possibly thinking of her upset her more than it had ever before.

Reyna just wanted to be left alone to sit with Bella and the others, quiet as she read and kept to herself. She was annoyed, peeved at the way that Jared was, even as she listenned to him from here, very manipulative.

She rolled her eyes, growing closer to the home before she stopped completely, a gasp and cry escaping her as she fell to the ground - hands clawing at her throat.

Blood, blood coming from the house that wasn't Bella's. Loose in the air, a growl sounded from deep in her chest. Fingers dug into the ground as she rocked herself, hunger skyrocketing and urging her body forward.

Moaning and whimpering was how Emmett and Jasper found her, dragging her to her feet and toward the house - dropping her on the roof where she could look out, see out, and be left to her hunger in peace. The boys standing as silent guards.

Reyna could hear the little animals within the boarder, but none would satisfy her like the larger creatures that miled about out of reach. Bears. Deers. Mountain lions in the far distance. Her eyes tracked each of them, following them carefully.

She spent the night mentally hunting each, playing a game with herself on how many she could catch.

"Reyna," Seth called from the ground, snapping the girl's head in her direction. It was right about dawn, the boy having run perimeter all night. "Esme made a bunch of food for us, but we might need you to help convince Leah to eat it."

The girl nodded, a jerky movement as she trued to pull together the pieces of herseld that had slipped away overnight. "Carlisle and Jake want to speak to you as well."

"Can you get them to come outside, I won't be able to go in there with the blood around," Reyna croaked, fire unbearable.

The boy didn't so much as turn to go back outside when Carlisle was out the house. She jumped down, landing on her bare feet on the dirt, and Reyna noticed that she still didn't have a top on.

"I spoke with Jacob," Carlisle told her, looking behund him briefly to the emerging boy. "And we decided there shouldn't be any problem if you bring Leah or Seth with you, but we believe it will be safe for you to go hunting."

The words were barely spoken when Reyna was forcing the shirt off Jacob, tugging it off carefully and pulling it on herself - not caring that it hung low and loose on her.

"Thank you, thank you so much," she breathed, backing away quickly. "Thank you!"

Reyna darted off, running into the woods after the trail Leah had made with a hoot that would surely get the girl's attention. She only hoped that no one got in her way.
