Manhathan, New York, 1899

It was after the strike, everything happend so fast, Newsies had won the battle against Joseph Pulitzer with a reasonable deal thanks to governor Theodore Roosvelt by their side.

It was a beautiful morning like any other, twin siblings walked down the streets together and they we're always unseparable plus nobody could stop them when it came to bet for the Shipshead Horse Race.

But one day, something terrible happen, her twin brother Racetrack Higgins had gone missing. The girl had a bad feeling about this so she decided to search for him alone. Her name was Katherine Marie Higgins, she wouldn't never live alone without her twin and best friend.

Suddenly, chivers ran down her spine looking at the old now abandon Refuge, the place where poor kids we're hurt inocently. She bravely enters the place spoting her brother alone in a cell as both hug bars keeping them appart.

There we're two tall boys standing in the shadows, the girl demanded to reveal themselves it was non other than Oscar and Morris Delancey, the bad boys of New York.

Katie the young girl made a deal on taking her twin's place instead as the boys agreed after letting Race go home.

After what happend, the girl stayed in her cell crying herself to sleep but in another room there was Oscar Delancey staring at the glowing rose and thought to himself, who could ever learn to love a beast.
