Once upon a time there was a young maiden. She was nothing too special. Brown hair, brown eyes, and fair skin. Overall average.

She loved to read books. Especially romances. She fell in love with the characters and their stories. She lived with the hope that these situations would happen to her.

This meant that she fell in love easily. She would fall in love with the people who were nice to her and that she found attractive. She became shallow. These were mistakes for she was never loved back.

She became blinded by the fantasies in her head that she never loved them for who they were. She created assumptions and believed they were her book characters brought to life.

She was wrong. They were cruel, stupid, oblivious boys whom she thought she loved. She would anonymously give them gifts and let them control her thoughts without them knowing. And whenever she would realize her mistake, she would become heartbroken and feel as if she wasn't enough.

Yet she kept loving others wholeheartedly. She named them crushes, but knew that they were much more in her heart.

However recently she had been denying her feelings. Believing that she could throw them away if she tried. And she tried.

Her feelings were overwhelming. She began to see the traits of her book characters in someone. She also found other traits in him that she loved as well. She began to love him for him. For his imperfections and his perfections.

Yet she believed she was subjecting this person to the love of the book characters. She thought she didn't truly love him. That she wasn't worth his love either.

She believed that he deserved someone better.

She managed to throw away her feelings. It hurt her very much to make herself believe she never loved him. Yet she still smiled.

She had helped another try to gain his love. Because this new person was someone better than her. Someone who was worthy of his love.

Their attempts always failed. But everytime they tried, he would smile. This made her smile each day, Even if she was trying to get him to love another.

He was the reason she kept going. Just the thought of his goofy smile and quirky laugh. The way he would childishly act when with his friends. The frustrated look on his face and scrunched eyebrows when struggling with something. And the look he gave her that made her feel as if she was worth something. That she was somehow perfect in someway.

He wasn't the most attractive or romantic but she still loved him without realizing it. And once he left her life due to following different paths. She kept the thought of him in her mind. And it kept her going.

Because even though he wasn't a handsome romantic book character she still loved him.

And she decided that maybe she didn't need someone to sweep her off her feet. She needed someone who made her laugh and feel special.

She now new that she was capable of loving others for who they were instead of what she wanted them to be.

She didn't need or want perfect anymore.

She was happy with things being imperfectly perfect.
