Defiance
"I complained about having no shoes, then I met a man with no feet"
-?
Where did it go?
A peaceful youth,
Filled with laughing and joy.
Now it seems that I only see tears and hate for others spreading around the world.
That the greedy hearts of men have decided that their want is worth the lives of thousands.
Whilst others die of starvation, they sit in comfort getting fat off of their negligence.
It's said 'To err is human.' But we have surpassed any error and would we dare call such monsters human?
Those who would gladly sacrifice us for their war, that they've made us believe we want to fight.
Those, who keep us on our knees praying to the God's that we can't see.
Will we let these monsters remain in power?
But the blame does not fall squarely on their shoulders.
It falls on yours. On mine.
We, who sit back and allow them to crash the sky to the sea so that they may have more than someone else.
We, who simply allow their vices to hold dominion over all our lives.
We could simply say no.
Must we obey those who are so eager to play god?
We can tell them we no longer wish to play their game, and have decided that their rules mean nothing to us.
We must forgo the comforts of familiarity, and face that others suffer greater than us.
And we must all play our part,
Lest we are no better than the ones tearing the planet apart.
