"Yeah Ash what's up?"

"I like you... a lot.. your such a great guy, I admire how positive you are even though you've been through so much.. I know if any of that happened to me well... I wouldn't know what to do... I just wanted to let you know, I get you probably don't feel the same but..."

"Yes! Who wouldn't like you? Your so smart and your so talented, your the best at art!! Your always so funny and sweet.. in fact I've been wanting to ask you this for a while but... will you be my girlfriend?"

"Awww!! Sal yes! Of course I'll be your girlfriend!"

She pulls in to hug me and I hug back. This is all I've ever wanted!

Even though I knew deep down inside that I wanted to be with Larry... I'm just doing this to get over him...

"Hey, Sal what's up?"

"Hey Larry.. I have good news! Me and Ash are dating!"

"Oh wow! I always knew you guys would end up together sooner and later"

I smile and act happy, all I ever wanted was to be with him.. his long hair, the way it falls gracefully past his shoulders, his thick eyebrows and long eyelashes, the mole on the left side of his face at the bottom of his eye.. those coffee bean eyes, his sculptured jaw line and...

"Hey, Sal? You good man?"

"Uh yeah Larry, I'm fine"

The next day, at school

"Hey, Ash!"

"Aw, hey Sal!"

I sit down next to her and set my tray down.

She goes for my hand and our fingers intertwine together.

We look at each other, Ash smiled and giggled, I chuckled.

"Hey where's Larry?"

"Oh he's sitting over there, with Todd, he's been pretty quiet for some reason"

"Hm that's weird.. I've noticed that too"

"Yeah.. hopefully he's fine.."

It hurt me to see Ash and Sal so happy together and holding hands...
though I was happy for Sal, I'm glad he found someone to make him happy..
I thought we were going somewhere, I thought we had a thing..
all this time I've liked him, loved him even...
