Even days later after Yibo learned that he was going to be a father, he was still happy. He still could not believe that he will soon be a husband and father. And he was even looking forward to the baby, even though he himself said before that he and Zhan still had enough time to start a family. Now he could hardly wait to hold his baby in his arms.

What dimmed Yibo's joy a bit, however, was that his father still wouldn't give up making his life a living hell. However, out of concern for Zhan and their baby, he had decided not to tell Zhan about the new trouble with his father. Zhan's doctor told them clearly that Zhan needed rest and should avoid stress.

So he asked Zhan to take a few days off and get some proper rest at home. At first Zhan was against it, because then, as Zhan said, he wouldn't be able to see Yibo all day and would miss him too much. But after Yibo asked him to think about their baby, Zhan gave in and stayed home.

And Yibo was glad that Zhan stayed home. Because what his father had done now again, Yibo seriously doubted his father's sanity. He trusted him to do a lot, but that his father would come to him in the office and that with a 22 year old woman and introduced her as Yibo's fiancée, even Yibo would not have expected in his worst nightmares.

Like every morning, Yibo first checked his emails and started to answer the most important ones in order when there was a knock at the door to his office. After a short "come in" the door opened and Yibo's father came grinning into the office. And with him he had this pretty 22 year old woman, who immediately stood next to Yibo, while his father immediately took a picture of the two of them and called them a perfect couple.

Confused by the action, Yibo asked his father, "What are you doing?"

"Oh I forgot to tell you. This is Gina and she is your fiancée. I wanted to introduce her to you today." Explained his father with a big grin and his supposed fiancée grinned right along with him.

"My what? My fiancée? Say, are you now probably abandoned by all good spirits? What are you thinking?" Yibo shouted angrily.

"You don't have to raise your voice. Your marriage was decided two years ago. Your mother and I arranged it. And now that Gina is done with her studies, you two should finally get married."

"Tell me, did something happen to your head that made your brain shrink to the size of a fly's shit? I don't care at all what you and Mom arranged two years ago, I'm definitely not going to marry that woman. And fortunately, you don't have any leverage over me that you can use to coerce me into marrying her either."

"Oh yeah, and what if it gets out that the chief justice's son is gay and in a relationship with you?"

"Well make it known. Zhan's father stands by his son and everyone at the court knows Zhan is gay because his father talks about it openly. And even if you spread my homosexuality in the media, I don't care at all. Because most of our clients know that Zhan and I are not only business partners, but also private."

"Still, I'm sure it wouldn't be good for you if this became known. Besides, we made a contract with Gina's parents. So you guys have to get married."

"Do we have to? I don't think so. And if it's so important to you to make her a member of the family, why don't you marry her yourself? You know how to do it. You proved that with Hai Kuan's wife."

"Listen Gina. I don't have to think about anything. I love my fiancé and I'm definitely going to marry him. Besides, I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of me or thinks about my relationship. And a fake marriage would never be an option for me."

"But..."

"No, no buts, Gina. I'm telling you clearly, you and I will never get married! I love my fiancé, him, and him alone, I will marry very soon."

"And what about children?"

"You don't have to worry about that. I wouldn't marry you just to be able to become a father someday either. I don't even have to, because my future husband is someone very special and anything is possible with him." Of course, Yibo didn't reveal his and Zhan's sweet secret. But for a brief moment, he would have liked to, just to see the look on his father's face when he learns that Yibo doesn't even need a wife to be able to become a father.

Yibo's father who was silent for a moment and for once said nothing, stared angrily at Yibo and asked, "And what are you going to do now? Do you seriously think I'm going to let you ruin your life because of a man?"

"You seem to have misunderstood something father. Zhan doesn't ruin my life, he enriches it. He makes me feel alive and happy for the first time in many years. With him by my side, everything seems possible. I make plans, I started my own business with him. Thanks to him, I wake up every morning with a smile and have become a better person because of him too. You, on the other hand, since Mom left you, you seem as if someone has pulled the ground out from under your feet and now you're wildly struggling to find someone to hold on to. But you won't find it with me. I'm not going to marry Gina just to make you feel better."

"Ever since your mom left me, I've been fine. And if anything, I left her."

"Yes father, keep telling yourself that. But we both know the truth. You kicked Mom out of the company and she left you for it. And now that she's gone, you have nothing to hold on to. With her, you could do whatever you wanted, be who you really are. But now she's gone and I'm sure you miss her by now."

"I don't miss your mom one bit!"

"I think you miss her. You've become even more unbearable and moody since your divorce! Because now you have no reason to argue with her, talk about her, or be able to see her. Be honest for once and admit that you miss her."

" I don't miss her. There is no reason to."

"Yes, you do. No matter how many times you've lied to her and cheated on her. No matter how long your affair lasted. You only ever loved Mom! And if it weren't for Uncle Wang's pressure on you, you never would have kicked her out of the company either. She let you do what you wanted and in return you let her do what she wanted. You were so much alike and that's why you loved her and probably still do. But you are too cowardly to admit it and feel yourself falling further and further without her. You're trying to grasp at any straw to save yourself, but it's not working!"

"That's not true!"

"Why is it so hard for you to just admit it? I think it's only now that you're divorced that you really realize how much you miss her. But because you can't and won't admit it, others have to suffer." Actually, it wasn't as if Yibo had suddenly had an intuition and would understand how his father felt. Rather, Zhan's mom had explained to him what must have been going on inside his father. Because before Zhan's mom started her own business as a restorer, her main profession was psychologist and that's why she could explain Yibo his father's behavior so well. He just remembered the conversation with her.

But still Yibo's father is not ready to admit that Yibo is right with what he says. So he continues to look for excuses and rages around acting like a hurricane, always looking for the next thing to destroy. But he also notices that Yibo doesn't put up with anything from him and that he even fights him. And that annoys him even more. "Don't act like you understand what's going on inside me. I'm glad your mother is gone and I don't want her back." He said angrily.

"Believe what you want father. And now please take Gina and go. I have work to do and you better take her back to her parents and explain to them that there will be no wedding. At least, not with me." Yibo replied.

His father seemed to be speechless once again and actually left without further demand. But in reality it was probably Yibo who no longer knew what he should say. Because once again his father had proven that he can always put one on top and does not give up so quickly. Well, as Yibo admitted to himself, at least he had that in common with his father. Never to give up!

But even though Yibo is becoming more and more successful in defending himself against his father, it still weighed on him and he wondered every time what would happen next and if there would ever be an end to it. Will he and Zhan ever have peace from him?

When Yibo came home that evening, he tried not to show any concern. He didn't want Zhan to worry or stress. After all, that's not good for either of them, Zhan and the baby. So he hugged and kissed Zhan, asked him how his day was and if they want to look for baby stuff on the internet together already.

But Zhan felt very well that Yibo was not well. And besides, Yibo's father had sent him a picture showing Yibo and a woman, and underneath Yibo's father wrote: "This is Yibo's fiancée. Soon they will get married." Zhan wasn't worried about that, though. Rather, he was worried about Yibo and wondered how much longer Yibo could handle this stress.

So what did Zhan do as he searched for a solution on how to help Yibo? He called Yibo's mother and asked her to help Yibo! And he didn't have to ask her twice after Zhan explained what had happened and told her about the picture. Zhan knew she was the only one who could help Yibo fight his father. After all, she is also the only one who kept Yibo's father under control for years. Well, more or less.

But Zhan still keeps to himself that soon Yibo's mother will come to Yibo's defense. For now, she has to stay in the clinic for a few more days, where she is currently making an alcohol detox.
