Bodie Erikson was ancient. He was immortal. He wasn't human. He wasn't innocent when it came to things like bloodshed or death, for most of the time it was he which caused it. There were moments where he forgot what it meant to be human, that if it wasn't for this curse that Esther placed on him, then he would know what being human really was. But who could truly know what human was when being human died the day he was turned.

And yet the most mundane thing that he ever did was love. Though, unfortunately, the person that he fell in love with was the monster parents would tell their children to fear. As much as Bodie tried to stop himself from loving the very being whose name sends a rush of fear down ones spine, he couldn't exactly stop what his heart was drawn to. And Bodie couldn't help but love Klaus Mikaelson.

He wanted desperately to stop how he felt for someone like Klaus, but loving him since the day that they met and having that amplified by becoming a vampire was the most difficult thing to happen. He tried and tried to make himself dislike Klaus and everything that he did but no matter how much effort he put into hating Klaus, or even, trying, Bodie couldn't.

A thousand years was a long time. Immortality was a gift to those who wanted to spend forever with someone they loved, but for Bodie, it felt as if he'd spent the past a thousand years loving one man enough that it annoyed him enough that he wished his heart belonged to someone else. Bodie Erikson loved Klaus Mikaelson, the beast in everyone's stories, yet behind all of that, Bodie saw a broken man with problems that were beautiful.

Bodie knew that there must have been a meaning behind as to why he had this life, and he was going to devote that life to Klaus Mikaelson, even if it meant having his heart broken a thousand times over. And even if it meant following Klaus back into Mystic Falls for Elena Gilbert who was the only one who could break Klaus' curse binding his werewolf side. Bodie would follow Klaus, even if they both suffered the worst break up to exist.

Sometimes love was painful enough that it felt like dying all over again, but Bodie was going to try his best to come back into Klaus' life. Even if it meant risking his life in order to see the bound hybrid. Love might be painful but being immortal sometimes meant that it was to keep those one cares about close by. And if Bodie was going to risk everything including his life after the 1960's, then so be it.

Klaus Mikaelson was filled with beautiful problems, and Bodie's immortal heart loved everything that came with Klaus. Even if it were his enemies, or his temper, or even his temperament to dagger his siblings (which Bodie didn't agree with), yet even still, there was hope within Bodie that Klaus would change. He hoped that Klaus would.

Yet as many problems Klaus had, there was no greater problem Klaus had that Bodie Erikson, the son of a werewolf, held. Bodie wasn't just an Original Vampire, he was the second hybrid (after Klaus) within the supernatural plane. Yet keeping his werewolf side a secret was the hardest thing that Bodie ever held in on himself, for he was hiding secrets which could destroy everything he made for himself.

He withheld a secret which led to the motivation in the creation of the Original Vampires. He withheld the secret that it was he who was the wolf which murdered a curious innocent. It was something which Bodie refused to tell anyone, for it would ruin every bond he ever made with the family he cared about more than anything. Yet the only thing which kept his secret problem a secret was the memory of both Rebekah Mikaelson and Elijah Mikaelson convincing their father that Bodie Erikson hadn't triggered his curse, for Bodie told the children of the family everything.

But Bodie never had the heart to correct them. Beautiful Problems were things that were small, but others were messy. And some problems, Bodie and Klaus would rather take to the grave. For they're both each other's beautiful mess, the one thing which reminds them that there is grace within this madness of an immortal life.

❝Klaus Mikaelson was the one that everyone feared, the one that brought nightmare upon nightmare to those that met him, the one that kills and slaughters when angered enough. But to me, despite all of that, I love him, I love Klaus that I try and hold everything against him in hopes that he'll do better. And he does, for a short while before fucking it all up again and falling back into the nightmare. I try and stop my love for him, but I can't. Klaus Mikaelson has my heart and I can't change that.❞
