Chapter Forty
『decade dance』

⋅⋆✯✼⋆⋅

Bodie knew that there was a chance that he was being dramatic as a whole but knowing that he had Will and Henry and even the Snow's was something of comfort. It had been some form of awkward between both Leo and Bodie, but in some odd way, Bodie found it comforting to be beside Leo, it was different and nice, and somehow managed to calm his nerves a little more. Elliot had given him a look as if there was something that he knew but didn't want to say, like Elliot knew what the pair of them did.

Just like Will said, the Snow's stayed the night much to their disapproval, but they caved. Leo managed to sneak into Bodie's bed which wasn't something that he was against at all, in fact, it was something that felt almost unreal. He knew that there was a chance that none of this would last, he knew that it wouldn't, but to have someone beside him was strange and refreshing to some extent.

Come morning, it was the same, Bodie would go into a small panic because he thought that he heard something and assumed that it might have been Klaus or Rebekah that have come to kill him. He'd woken up Leo by mistake and ended up being comforted by Leo after Bodie almost attacked him and gave him a painful headache to back off. Of course, there was a lot that he was still worrying about when it came to this, but he hoped that there was a chance that he could get through it.

Now, it was the afternoon and Bodie wondered whether or not he'd planned enough. He knew that there was nothing that he needed to fully worry about, but he found that his brain was working overtime because of his worry over whether or not Klaus or Rebekah would come to his home and demand for a fight or kill the people that he likes. He knew that there was a chance that his behaviour would be the reason why they all get killed, that he might drive them away, but he found that all he could do was to be worried about everything.

Bodie, the Snow's, and the Woodford's had spent most of the day going over plans that could happen in order to protect Bodie. Bodie decided that it was best for him to keep the white oak stake that he owned on him at all times, just in case anything happened. There were talks about what was best, whether or not they could do spells on Bodie, himself, which Bodie declined—not because he didn't want to, but because he knew that there was a chance that magic might backfire. Of course, that wasn't the reason, he just didn't want the risk of being cursed.

He knew that there was a chance that he was being dramatic about all of this, that there was a chance that he was overthinking and assuming that there was a chance that everyone was out to get him. As much as he knew that the Snow's and the Woodford's were on his side, there was this small feeling inside of him that nagged at him as if he knew something, that there was a chance that one of them or all of them were going to betray him.

For a moment, Bodie wondered whether or not the Snow's thought himself downright bad because of the fact that he'd killed Henrik, a small boy who just wanted to see the werewolves change. He wondered whether or not they were doing this because it was a way to get close to him before betraying him. He knew that there was a chance that he was simply overthinking, that there was nothing for him to worry about, but all that was going through his mind was his fear of getting killed.

As much as he knew that he would great death and wouldn't mind if he did die, the thought that one of the Mikaelson's being the ones that kill him was something that brought him a fear of dying. He knew that it was stupid, that it was just his worry and his fear, but the thought that the people that he lived would kill him because of what he did shook him. Bodie knew that they would have this reaction to what he did, but there was just a small part of him that had hoped that it wouldn't happen. He knew that he was wrong and that he deserved anything and everything that came his way.

The one thing that surprised Bodie, though, was the fact that Kol had text him, asking if it was true. He knew that Klaus would have told Kol, but even still, the fact that Kol felt the need to text him to make sure that it was true was something that hurt him unexpectedly. He had gone to text Kol back before Kol messaged him once more saying that he—Kol—will make sure that Bodie's death would be slow and painful. He didn't know why but to read that text broke him more than he thought that it would.

   "Bodie." Will muttered. "Breathe, okay?"

Bodie found himself staring at Will, which had caused him to flinch. He tilted his head to the side, wondering for a moment as to why Will would flinch before realising that all of the Snows were looking at him with a sense of worry and Henry was there with one of his hands out as if he was prepared to use his magic at any point against Bodie. It took Bodie a second more to realise that his hand was shifting into that of a wolf, and his eyes had changed too.

He shook his head and shifted. "Sorry." He rose to his feet. "I need some air."

Bodie then left. He felt like it was becoming more of a struggle to breathe, he wanted to break something, he wanted. . .he didn't know what he wanted anymore. He felt too much of everything and he hated it, he wanted to switch it all off, have Henry or one of the Snow's find a way for him to switch everything off. He knew that he didn't need to turn it off, that he can change everything he felt into anger and let lose everything that he's been hiding and holding back, but he knew that it meant blood.

Bodie found himself outside, walking along the pavement. He knew that it was rather dangerous to be out, but he knew that he was dangerous also. He knew that whatever came his way could be defeated, though he knew that if it were either Klaus or Rebekah it would be rather hard for him to actually kill either of them. Not only that but he knew that if he killed either of them that he would be responsible for more death and that was something that he didn't want. As much as he liked the blood on his hands, he didn't want to add more.

He knew that he was panicking, that there was a chance that he was truly overthinking everything that came to this, but at the same time he knew that what he needed was a solid plan, one that would work and wouldn't resort into much fighting or bloodshed. He just wanted some form of peace after all of the Mikaelson's rid themselves of their anger against him, though he knew that no matter what, they would hate him like their lives depended on it.

Of course, Bodie knew that they knew that he still had his white oak stake, which meant that no matter what, their lives were at stake the longer that he kept hold of it. He wondered whether or not Klaus would come and get it just to use it on him, he wondered if Klaus intended to find a way to kill him in the most brutal way, he wondered if Klaus had planned to attack Bodie the same way that he had attacked Henrik before staking him.

There was a lot that he wondered when it came to the ways that Klaus would kill him. He knew that he shouldn't entertain these thoughts, that it would do him more harm than good, but there was just too much going on inside of his head for him to focus on anything else. Bodie knew that there was a chance that he was doing more harm to himself than anything else, but even still, it was like that these thoughts were the only thing that mattered.

He knew that this shouldn't mean anything to him, that he should have known what would happen when he told them and he did try and prepare himself for all of this and yet, he felt as if he wasn't prepared at all. Bodie kept his head down as he walked, he knew that if he didn't control himself and control his thoughts that it would be the worst, he knew that if he remained not in control over himself that it might mean a bloodbath.

Bodie sighed. He knew the last time that he allowed his emotions get the best of him, it lead into hundreds or thousands to be dead by his hand at once. He needed to get his shit sorted before it ruined more people's lives, the last thing that he would want is for more people to be after him because he decided to kill the person that they cared for.

"Bodie!" Leo called out. Bodie paused and noticed the way that Leo came running up behind him. Bodie gave him a confused look, wondering whether or not Leo had some form of death wish. "God, you walk fast." Leo held onto his side as if it hurt.

Bodie gave him a small look, a small unimpressed look. "What do you want, Leo? It's a danger to be around me. I could kill you."

"You could." Leo said. "But I know that you won't."

Bodie glared at Leo. There was a small part of him that wanted to prove Leo wrong, but at the same time he knew that he shouldn't do anything drastic. "Why follow me Leo?"

Leo simply shrugged. "As much as I know that you can protect yourself, it would help if you had additional help, you know."

Bodie looked Leo up and down. "As much as I appreciate the help, Leo, I know that you won't be able to fight them one-on-one."

"You trust Henry and Will!" Leo pointed out.

Bodie really didn't want to argue at all. "Because they're vampires and older than you. They're faster than you. As are the Originals. Even with your magic, it would be hard. Both Will and Henry find it hard."

"I like a challenge." Leo stated. "Plus, I think it would be fun."

Bodie shook his head. He wasn't sure if Leo was stupid or reckless, but the last thing that he wanted was for Leo to die at the hands of one of the Originals. He knew that it might be nothing to Leo but the one thing that he couldn't live with was the fact that Leo might die trying to protect him. There was still a large part of Bodie that wondered whether or not he should turn Leo so he might have some form of a chance against one of them.

"You'll die." Bodie stated. He knew that there was a chance that it would mean nothing, but he still wanted to point out the possibility that going against the Original's would mean death. He'd seen what happened to others that challenged the Originals, and he'd seen how their own arrogance and need to prove a point led to their death. He didn't want Leo to follow the same path. "I've seen others with the same mindset die because of it."

"I'll die by another supernatural issue sooner or later." Leo stated with a shrug. "It just depends on the when."

Bodie felt something within him break. He knew that this twenty-year-old should have his entire life ahead of him and yet he's here thinking that he'll die soon just because of the world that he lives in. Bodie felt as if his entire world seemed to shatter at the thought, knowing that Leo seemed to not care if he lived or died, that he assumed that he would always be bound to be dead no matter what. Bodie found himself stopping in his tracks. "You have your entire life ahead of you, Leo, you should reconsider all of this. You're young, you need to live."

Leo smiled weakly. "I know, but with all the troubles that live in this town, it's rather difficult to live my own life. I want to go off to College, see the world, live a life without worrying about anything that goes on in this town. But I have to worry about my brother, he's still in High School, and while he still lives in this town and dealing with this shit, I need to make sure that there's someone looking out for him. My parents are rather ignorant when it comes to a big issue like what we've gone through so far, so I need to be there for Elliot."

Bodie wanted to say that he understood, but the reality is the fact that he never had to worry about his siblings being in trouble because they were the trouble that everyone else needed to worry about. He never had to think about the worry that there was no one else would look out for the ones that he cares most about because he knew that they could defend themselves. Bodie hadn't considered anything when it came to those with mortal siblings or a family that wasn't like his own.

He found himself looking down as if that were a way for him to think about what he might need to say. Of course, there was nothing that he could say, what was he meant to say? There was nothing that he could say, he didn't understand, when he did have siblings, he didn't have the worry of there being Original Vampires. Of course, now was different because he had both Will and Henry but even still, they could take care of themselves with ease.

Bodie found himself sighing. "You need to think about yourself, Leo. Your future."

Leo shook his head. "I know, but for now I need to focus on protecting them until Elliot is out of High School."

Bodie fell silent once more, he knew that there was nothing that he could say about it as a whole. He couldn't control anyone—he could, but he wouldn't want to—and there was something about Leo's need to protect his family which made Bodie wish that he could have actually protected his own family. He shook his head slightly, he knew that there was a chance that he was focusing too much on Leo's future, but it was something else for him to focus on other than his need to panic about what Klaus or Rebekah might do to him.

Leo cleared his throat slightly. "Talking about High School, there's a decade dance at the school tonight. The 1920's."

Bodie gave Leo a small look, raising an eyebrow. "It was an alright era to live through. The suits were everything."

"Yeah, I'm sure." Leo said. He sounded worried which made Bodie look at Leo with a confused look with a confused look, wondering as to what made Leo worry so much. "I was wondering. . .if you would like to come with me to the decade ball? I know that you've got things to worry about like the Mikaelson's coming after you, but I'll be there to protect you. As will Elliot and Henry."

For a moment, Bodie just smiled. He knew that there was a chance that he was being stupid or that there was a chance that he was risking everything simply because there was a small part of him that liked Leo. He knew that there was a chance that they were just using his weird feelings for Leo to their advantage but to go to a decade dance with Leo might be something that could distract Bodie from all that was worrying him.

"I'll gladly come with you to the decade dance." Bodie said. He knew that he was still smiling, and he didn't care all that much, he knew that there was a chance that they were using his feelings to their advantage and knowing that both Leo and Bodie slept together, but he tried not to care much. He just wanted a distraction and Leo seemed to be some form of that which he enjoyed.

Leo seemed to light up then as if Bodie said the one answer that he wanted to hear. "Great! I'll meet you and come pick you up."

Bodie found himself looking at Leo with some form of surprise. He'd rarely had someone offer to pick him up, normally, he would be the one to offer to pick the other up. Bodie found himself smiling to himself, he knew that the familiar warm feeling that he felt inside was something that was going to ruin him in due time but at the moment, Bodie didn't care all that much. He wanted to be happy, that's all that he wanted, and for the moment, in the middle of pure chaos, Leo brought him some form of happiness at least for now.

"As some form of date?" Bodie asked, he rose an eyebrow. He knew that there was a chance that it might not be a date, but the thought of teasing Leo in some way was something that made Bodie grin in some way.

Leo cocked his head up. "Maybe it is, if you want it to be." He then sighed. "I know that you might not like me the same way that you like Klaus, but, I just want to take you out, even if it's for a short while."

Bodie found himself feeling a sense of un-comfortability, as much as he wanted to move on, and as much as Bodie liked Leo, he knew that no matter what he still loved Klaus. He always did, no matter what was going on between them. Leo was someone that Bodie liked—and he did, truly—but knowing that Leo was in danger with how close Leo was getting to Bodie made him worry more than anything. He didn't want to be the reason why Leo gets hurt.

Will and Henry seemed to have approved of Bodie going to the decade dance which felt rather odd given that there was a small part of Bodie that assumed that both of them might try and say that he shouldn't. Though, it felt rather odd that he was going to a dance with Leo, most of the time when it was some form of dance, he would be going with Klaus. Bodie shook his head, knowing that the last thing that he wanted to do was think of Klaus as a whole.

However, Bodie managed to pull out one of the many suits that he still owned from the 20's and decided that he would wear it for the dance. He wondered as to why he did agree to go, thinking that it was rather odd that he was going to a High School dance, but there was a small part of Bodie that knew that there was a chance that the Woodford's and the Snow's had something planned which meant that Bodie needed to be there.

He shook his head, he knew that he shouldn't really question anything about any of this, but he wanted to. Bodie knew that if he were the one to be left with the plan, it would be some form of emotionally driven plan that got most people killed before he got to Klaus. Either way, he knew that letting those with magic plan the stuff that might be important, like protecting him from an enraged family that all knew.

Leo did pick him up like he said that he would. The journey to the school—or wherever the dance was being held—was rather quiet, though it was comfortable, knowing that there was nothing awkward between the pair of them. There was a small part of Bodie that had worried just in case there was some form of awkwardness between them because of Leo knowing that no matter what, he would still be in love with Klaus no matter what was going on between them.

When they arrived, they'd noticed the way that both Stefan and Elena had come here together. There was a small part of Bodie that wondered as to why Elena didn't invite Damon, not that Bodie liked Damon much, but he just thought that there was something going on between them. Not only that, but with the weird way that Stefan had been treating Elena, Bodie would have thought that Elena would have moved on. A small part of him wondered whether or not her life would be best without Stefan and Damon.

He shook his head, he knew that he shouldn't be the one to judge others for their relationships given the nightmare that he was in and out of a relationship with. Bodie held out his arm for Leo, which he'd taken. The warmth of Leo's touch almost brought Bodie back down to reality, like it was some form of shock that went through his system in order to do such a thing.

The pair of them walked through the door to which a rather upbeat song played from the era. Bodie would have to admit, the entire thing seemed rather accurate to what he remembered the era to be in, of course, he'd been told that Rebekah helped with this which made Bodie worry just in case Rebekah would show up and try and kill him or make a big thing out of this. He tried to push the thought out of his mind, knowing that the worst thing that he could do was panic.

"Teach me the moves of the era," Leo said with a grin. "Or are your joints too old to move?"

Bodie grinned and shook his head then. He then dragged Leo onto the dancefloor and tried to remember how they used to dance, though after a minute or two, he managed to get into the swing of it, which Leo followed suit with. Bodie couldn't help but smile, the 20's hadn't been a great era for Bodie given that Klaus had forced Bodie to leave them in order to protect him from Mikael.

He tried to rid his mind of thoughts of Klaus, he was her with Leo and that should be enough for him as a whole. He needed to live here in the moment and actually enjoy the moments that he lived in because he didn't know how much he had left.

Bodie seemed to have gotten too caught up in his thoughts given that the music changed to something slow. Bodie smiled slightly and managed to catch one of Leo's hands and pulled him in. Leo seemed almost surprised by the action as a whole, though didn't say much about it as a whole, Bodie placed a hand on Leo's lower back and the other held Leo's hand.

Leo looked at Bodie with wide eyes like this wasn't something that he expected as a whole. Bodie found himself smiling in some way, there was something about the look that just made him smile in small way.

"You know," Bodie began. "I'm grateful to be your date here."

Leo grinned slightly. "I'm glad that you agreed to come here." There was a slight quiver in Leo's smile. "I know that you like Klaus still, Bodie, but I hope that it'll change."

Bodie knew that there was a chance that Leo hoped for some form of change in him, and he felt bad in a small way. He wondered if Leo did actually feel something for Bodie, wondered if all of this—the hook up and asking him to the dance—was just part of some kind of plan that they all came up with. He wondered if any of this was real. He knew that this was the worst thing that he could think of, but it felt rather weird to know that Leo felt something for Bodie—of course, he'd had other people admit or have feelings for him, but it still felt strange as a whole.

Bodie sighed. "I hope so too." He knew that there was a chance that his feelings towards Klaus might never change, he'd tried to rid himself of his feelings for Klaus, but it never worked beforehand. There was a small part of him that knew that if his feelings for Klaus hadn't changed beforehand that there's a chance that it won't change now but he hoped that after a thousand years, he would finally lose his feelings of a man that now hated him. "Because I do like you, Leo."

Leo smiled then, a light flush appeared across his cheekbones which made Bodie's chest tighten in a weird way. "You do?"

"I do, Leo Snow." Bodie whispered. The small voice inside his head urged him to lean into Leo and actually kiss him, and he was close to, but he managed to catch Elliot walking over towards the pair of them with a look on his face. Bodie sighed.

Leo looked confused then. "What's wrong?"

Elliot was by their side. "Esther came. We're trapped in here. Henry is trying to undo it, but it's rather hard given that we think Klaus is here and Henry doesn't want to be seen."

Leo leaned his head onto Bodie's shoulder with some form of annoyed groan. "Fuck. Isn't Will here to help?"

"He is." Elliot said, glaring at Bodie like he hated everything to do with him. "But given that if Klaus spots either Will or Henry, then there's a chance that Klaus might realise that Bodie's here. And if I'm not mistaken, the only reason as to why any of us are here, is to protect him." He jerked his chin up as if to gesture to Bodie.

Leo groaned. "What do you need me to do?" He looked at Elliot. "Given that you've come over here, you clearly want my help."

Elliot looked annoyed, like he didn't want to be here as a whole. "Just giving you an update that you might need to know. Bonnie is helping Henry and Will."

Bodie felt something in him feel off. He heard something over the music, though the voice wasn't amplified with a microphone or anything, like his hearing took over in a small sense of panic and desire to protect himself. "I don't have to prove anything, love, I am the alpha male."

He turned, though he couldn't see where his voice came from. He knew that Klaus wasn't close to him, that Klaus hadn't seen him or seemed to have noticed that Bodie was here. He knew that he shouldn't be too happy over the fact that Klaus hadn't noticed that he was here, but even still, a prickle of panic seemed to flood him.

"He's with Caroline." Bodie stated. There was a sense of jealousy which filled him, and he knew that it was wrong. He knew that he was trying to rid himself of his feelings of Klaus, that he had no right to be jealous given what he's confessed, but a sense of possessiveness over Klaus almost controlled him. Instead of trying to get a reaction out of Klaus simply by showing his face, Bodie found himself holding onto Leo more.

"I'm leaving tomorrow." Bodie heard Klaus say. There was more that Klaus said, but that was the one thing that seemed to loop in his mind. Klaus was leaving tomorrow, and he knew that there was a chance that Klaus might try and do something. He thought that there was a chance that he was thinking too much into all of this or that he might be hearing things in hopes that there might be a chance that he'd survive.

   "Bodie." Leo muttered. "You good."

Bodie shook his head. "I need some air."

He broke away from Leo, turning and leaving. He knew that he couldn't go far, that he was trapped in the school, but Bodie found that he didn't care much, he needed to breathe. The second that he got outside, he felt a sense of his panic rising back up in him. Bodie assumed that Klaus was still with Caroline, but he saw Stefan and Klaus talking to one another.

Klaus looked past Stefan and for a moment, Bodie hoped that Klaus had forgotten what Bodie had told him, but the next thing that he knew was that he was against the wall with Klaus choking him. He heard the way that Stefan called Klaus' name, but Klaus ignored him. The way that Klaus glared at him with a lot of hatred was something that should make him afraid—and there was a small part of him that was, but he just wanted this to stop.

Bodie knew that Klaus had every right to be angry with him, after a thousand years, he'd finally told Klaus the one thing that he blamed himself for. Klaus had every right to kill him, to torture him, but at the same time, Bodie just wanted all of this to stop, he wanted to take back what he admitted despite the fact that he needed to know.

For a moment, Bodie thought that there was a chance that Klaus might rip out his heart, but it was then that Klaus let out a yell of pain and his grip on Bodie's throat loosened, allowing Bodie to remove Klaus' hand. Bodie looked beside him to see that Leo was there, his focus directed on Klaus, something about the look was enough for Bodie to know that Leo helped him. He smiled.

"Esther's back." Leo stated. "Given that we're all trapped in here, the best thing that we should do is find a way to get out of here. You can leave your hatred for Bodie alone for half-an-hour, Klaus, understood?"

Klaus looked as if he was trying to resist the spell used to give him a sharp headache though was failing. "He killed Henrik!"

   "Klaus, everyone knows." Bodie muttered.

"You can get revenge later." Leo spoke. "Whatever Esther is planning is far worse than an eleven-year-old who thought it smart to watch werewolves turn."

Klaus looked as if that was the answer that he didn't like too much. For a moment, Bodie wondered whether or not Klaus was going to risk having more of this pain, but what surprised Bodie the most was the fact that he caved. "Fine!"

Leo broke the connection and looked towards Bodie with a small nod. The look that was on Leo's face before was gone, no sense of Leo liking Bodie as if he'd removed himself from whatever he felt. Bodie found himself looking down, he could feel Klaus' hatred on him, but he tried to ignore it despite it being the only thing that he could think of.

Stefan made them follow him. Elliot and Leo was between both Klaus and Bodie as if to prevent anything form happening. Stefan had taken them to a room where basically everyone was. And by everyone, Bodie meant Henry's friends, and another guy that was looking at Bonnie with concern which Bodie remembered Henry talking about being a guy called Jamie. Will and Henry watched them entre and Bodie noticed the way that they tensed at the sight of Klaus, but Bodie just shook his head.

"Elliot." Henry spoke up. "Come here. Leo, stay."

The pair of them nodded. Elliot joined Bonnie, Henry, and Will, while Leo stayed with Bodie. Their hands brushed against one another and there was a small part of Bodie that wanted to take Leo's hand into his own but decided that it would be best if he didn't. if Klaus didn't know that he had someone else that he cared about then there was a chance that Klaus wouldn't kill Leo simply because Bodie cared.

The four witches were chanting in front of a table that held candles. Bodie had a feeling that the spell didn't need all four, but he supposed that to overcome any other layers of protection Esther might have put in place, it might have been best to have the four do such a thing.

"She does this all the time, right?" Jamie asked.

"What's taking so long?" Klaus demanded. "All boundary spells have a loophole. Given that four witches are doing this, it should be easy."

"Shut up, Klaus." Bodie found himself saying before he could stop himself. He felt the way that Leo pulled him back as if to put himself between both Bodie and Klaus just in case something happened. Klaus, however, just glared at Bodie as if he wanted to kill Bodie very much just for breathing the same air as him.

Matt then came walking into the room, walking basically in front of the group. "People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier."

"If Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. We gotta find out where she is." Jeremy stated.

   "Suicide, Jeremy." Stefan said.

Klaus then rushed forward and strangled Jamie, holding the man by his neck. "Suicide would be disappointing me." Klaus looked at the group of witches, one hand in his pocket. "Now, work your magic, witches, or I'll start killing people you favour."

   "Klaus!" Bodie snapped.

   "Let him go!" Bonnie yelled.

"Not until you get us out of here." Klaus stated.

Stefan walked towards Klaus then. "Ah, don't be stupid, Klaus, Bonnie doesn't give a damn about us. Will, Henry, and Elliot don't care for us either. The only reason they're helping right now is to save Caroline and Tyler. You start killing the people she cares about, she'll tell us to go to hell."

For a moment, there was silence. Leo was gripping onto Bodie as if Leo's life depended on it. Jamie was choking against Klaus' grip and for a moment, Bodie wondered whether or not he should use his stake or get involved in some way. Though, just as Bodie reached the back of his trousers—where the stake was—Klaus dropped Jamie.

Bodie found himself relaxing in some way though he knew that as long as he was in the same room as Klaus, he wouldn't relax at all. He knew that he shouldn't have come, despite the fact that he was with Leo, there was a part of Bodie that knew that Klaus would have come for whatever reason.

He felt the way that Leo held onto his hand as if it were a way for Leo to comfort Bodie in some way. After a moment, the four witches stopped the spell that they were doing which made Bodie wonder whether or not it worked, though it was when Henry said that they'd need to do a locator spell to find Elena was when Elliot and Bonnie walked out of the room.

Damon offered Jeremy a tube which Jeremy took before cutting his hand to give his own blood so it could be used in the spell. Bodie found himself watching Klaus as if he were worried just in case Klaus decided to pull anything towards Bodie or anyone else. He'd noticed at one point this look in Klaus' eye when he'd looked towards both Bodie and Leo, like there was a sense of hatred and something else, he wondered whether Klaus had noticed their hands but at this point, Bodie didn't care much.

After a moment, Damon walked out with the vile of blood and Bodie excused himself and followed after Damon. If Esther was involved with any of this, then all Bodie wanted to do was to make sure that he knew the location and probably kill Esther himself. He didn't care if it meant adding another member of the Mikaelson's to the list of people he killed.

"Here." Damon was saying to Bonnie and Elliot. "Jeremy made a little blood donation for your locator spell."

"We have to do this with you three lurking over me?" Bonnie asked.

It took Bodie a moment to realise that Klaus had followed after them. Elliot and Bonnie were standing over a desk that had a map over it. Bodie wondered whether or not he should leave but he knew that it was best to stay in a room that had someone that was on his side, despite the fact that he knew that Elliot probably hated him for whatever reason.

"You're still mad at me for what happened to Abby." Damon said. "Let me apologise. I'm sorry Elijah forced us to turn your mother into a vampire to save Elena's life. Didn't exactly have a choice."

"There's always a choice." Bonnie pointed out. "Whenever you make one, someone else suffers."

Klaus pushed himself off the wall. "Let's cut the dramatics and begin, shall we?"

Elliot rolled his eyes. "Please. As much as I would love to kill Damon right now, my conscious is telling me to let you live."

Damon looked hurt over that and Bodie found himself smiling. Bonnie snatched the vile of blood from Damon's hand and poured it onto the map and began to chant. Bodie had a feeling that Bonnie was channelling Elliot which Bodie noted might be useful given that Elliot was a hybrid and probably just a bit more useful that candles—though that was something that Bodie wasn't too sure on.

For a moment nothing happened. Bodie noticed the way that Bonnie was twitching as if she was trying to fight through something. "Esther is fighting me."

"Esther couldn't possibly have this much power unless she's channelling something." Klaus stated.

   "A hot spot." Bonnie said.

Bodie felt something drop within him. The only place that he knew that could be used by Esther might be the place where she died. "Get the humans ready. I know where she is." Klaus said.

"The place you killed her?" Bodie asked.

Klaus stiffened at Bodie's voice though nodded. "The cemetery."

Bodie wondered whether or not Klaus was going to hurt him despite saying that he wouldn't. There was a small part of Bodie that wondered whether or not he should take the advantage and strike Klaus right now. He knew that the people that he cared about wouldn't be hurt, he knew that Will and Henry were of his bloodline which meant that they would be safe and that was something that mattered to him the most.

Leo, Will, and Henry were surrounding Bodie which made him wonder if they would allow Bodie to even consider hurting Klaus. Though, yet again, Bodie knew better, he knew that the three of them would probably stop any fighting between the pair of them before it turned into a bloodshed. Despite knowing the fact that they were here for his protection, Bodie somewhat wished that he could just strike Klaus now and be over his paranoia.

He wondered if Klaus had thought about trying to kill him or fight him, but at the same time, Bodie felt as if Klaus would be smart if he wanted to fight Bodie. Bodie knew that Klaus would try and draw him away from his witch protectors long enough to kill him with Bodie's own stake. He knew that these weren't the thoughts that he needed to have right now, knowing that Esther was up to something, but he found that he didn't care, if Klaus wanted to fight him before he left then so be it.

"You know, this is your fault." Bodie heard Klaus say to Stefan. "You set us on this path when you released my mother." Bodie couldn't help but watch as Klaus turned to face Stefan. "I wonder if revenge will prove worth the cost."

"Oh, I'm done with revenge." Stefan said. "As far as Esther, we've stopped her before. We'll stop her again."

Bodie really wanted to use Klaus' distraction to kill him, but he knew that even if he did try and kill Klaus it would backfire in some way. That and the fact that he knew that Henry and Will might even step in to make sure that he didn't do anything drastic which might make Bodie feel like shit later on.

"We are strange bedfellows, you and I." Klaus said. "You know, all of this reminds me of our time together in the 20's."

Bodie heard the way that Stefan chuckled at that. "You say that like I'm supposed to have happy memories about it."

"Well, there were moments." Klaus said. "Real friendships." Bodie rolled his eyes at that. "Brotherhood."

"Well, he already has a brother." Damon stated as he came walking over towards the pair. "Not to be, you know, territorial or anything."

Bodie now had the urge to murder two people. He knew that he shouldn't make an attempt to murder anyone but at the same time, it would do his sanity very well if he found a way to kill both Damon and Klaus. Despite the very small voice inside his head that was still convinced that he and Klaus would work everything out telling him that he still needed to look after Klaus and keep an eye on him, all Bodie wanted to do was kill someone and Klaus was tempting to smooth over his worrisome brain.

Though, now that he looked at both Damon and Stefan, there was a small sharp pain that went through Bodie. He knew that now wasn't the time to be thinking about his siblings, but he did miss both Cassian and Ingrid, knowing that if they were alive with him now, that maybe it would help him with so much. Now that he thought about his siblings, he couldn't help but feel as if he failed them in some way because he failed to protect them when Mikael killed them all, though he knew that he didn't see Ingrid's body—not that it mattered.

He wondered if this was how all the Mikaelson's felt when Bodie killed Henrik, he wondered if the pain that he felt when he thought about his siblings was the same pain that they felt. He knew that their situation was different given that their brother's killer was still alive, but even still. He wondered if they felt as if they failed to protect Henrik.

He shook his head, he already knew the result of what happened when Esther realised that she wouldn't be able to get her son back. Bodie wondered if Esther was right with any of this, as much as he knew that the only reason why she made vampires was to protect her children, he wondered if her wanting to terminate all of them was truly a bad thing.

Bodie knew that even if he did kill Klaus, it would mean that he would need to find a way to kill the other siblings if it meant ridding the world of vampires. He knew that this was what Esther would want, but at the same time, Bodie knew that he was just allowing his anxiety to take over and overthink anything and everything.

Leo elbowed Bodie in the side, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Bodie. Your eyes."

Bodie shook his head just as Bonnie came out with Elliot. "It's done. Esther's not fighting me anymore. The boundary spell is broken."

Bodie noticed that Klaus had disappeared and Bodie was tempted to follow after him, but Will seemed to know what was going through Bodie's head and stopped him from doing such a thing. He wondered whether or not he should fight against Will but the look on Will's face was enough to let him know that whatever he tried would mean that he'd regret everything.

"We need to go home." Will said. "Before you lose control over yourself."

That seemed to have caught Henry's attention as he turned to face he turned to face Bodie. Henry looked Bodie up and down with a look. "You look like your about to shift into a wolf, Bodie." He then gestured towards Bodie's hands. "Fur and all."

Bodie flexed his hands and nodded. "I need to talk to Klaus. I know that I need to. One of you come with me, probably best that it's either Will or Henry."

"Is it smart?" Leo asked. He'd squeezed Bodie's hands and Bodie found himself pulling his hand away.

"No. But I need to." Bodie said.

Bodie and Wil had gone to Klaus' home, Will kept saying that this might be the worst choice that he could make but at the same time he knew that he wanted to do this. Bodie wanted to see what Klaus would want to say to him without anyone around. Yes, Bodie knew that this was the worst choice, that it could end up being the thing that hurts him the most, but Bodie found that if it was his worst choice than so be it.

He knew that everything he was about to do would be the thing that he would come to regret but at the same time Bodie wanted to know what was going through Klaus' head. If Klaus was going to find a way to kill Bodie between now and before he leaves, he wanted to make sure that they spoke beforehand. He shook his head slightly, he knew that he shouldn't do anything that he might regret but he found that no matter what, everything that he would ever do would be something that he regrets.

Bodie came walking into Klaus' home, Will following behind him, and muttering some form of spell behind Bodie. He knew that there was a chance that he was safe with Will, but there was this small voice in his head that told him that there was a chance that all of his wishes might be the thing that gets the people that he loves killed.

"If you've come to kill me, Bodie," Klaus said, "now isn't the time." He was in a room with a bunch of coffins.

"I'm not here to kill you, Klaus." Bodie told. "I don't want to kill you unless I need to protect myself."

Will muttered a spell under his breath and then stopped. "You're protected, he cant get to you." He whispered.

Klaus looked between Will and Bodie. "I see that you brought back-up."

"To prevent there being any fights between us." Bodie admitted. "It's safer and less fear of bloodshed between us and those that get between us."

Bodie wondered whether or not Will was right given the look that was on Klaus' face. Klaus and his stupidly attractive face. God, he hated all of this, he hated that he ruined everything because of something that he regrets.

Klaus made an attempt to walk towards Bodie, though when he came towards the doorway, it was like that something was blocking the way. Klaus bumped against it and glared between Will and Bodie as if he planned to murder them both because of all of it. Bodie felt something in his heart break then and as much as Bodie knew that he shouldn't feel anything about Klaus as a whole, but it was Klaus.

   "What is this?" Klaus asked.

"Protection." Bodie responded. He looked at Will and Will nodded and then walked away. He knew that William would stay close enough just in case. "Look, Klaus, I know that you're leaving town tomorrow, and I just wanted to apolo—"

"I don't want to hear it." Klaus snapped. "You killed my brother and for a thousand years you let me believe that it was my fault, that it was because of me that he died. You killed Henrik and you hid that you did. For a thousand years, you've lied and hid the truth. In fact, our entire relationship were built on lies! All that you've done is lie to me." His jaw clenched. "What else could you have lied about to me?"

Bodie tried not to think too much about anything when it came to any of this, but Klaus was right. His entire relationship with the Mikaelson's were built on lies but his feelings towards Klaus were true, his feelings were the one thing that he relied on sometimes, especially when it came to Klaus. "I haven't lied about anything else. The only things that I've lied about, I've already told you it." He sighed. "Klaus, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. It's why I refused to tell you for so long. I wanted to tell you the moment it happened but. . .I couldn't. Not seeing how you responded to his death."

Klaus shook his head and his jaw clenched. "The minute that I'm out of this spell, I will make sure that your death is slow and painful, just like Henrik's." His voice shook. "You killed him." He pointed towards Bodie and there was such hatred in his eyes. "And now you will die."

Bodie wanted to cry, he could feel the tears build up in his eyes. "Klaus, please I—I wasn't in control that night!"

"YOU LIED TO ME!" Klaus yelled with such a force that made Bodie flinch. "You done more than break my trust this time, Bodie. For you, there's no hope." Klaus clenched his fists once more. "I will destroy you if it's the last thing that I do."

Bodie stared at Klaus in a sort of disbelief. He knew that Klaus would be angry with him for what he did, but he hadn't thought that Klaus would have lost hope in him. That and the fact that he knew that if Klaus intended to destroy him then there was nothing else that he could do. Bodie swallowed as if to push everything down. "Then you should know that if you intend to destroy me or kill me to get back at what I did, know that you'll have to get the stake from me in order to do such a thing."

The amount of hatred that was in Klaus' eyes made Bodie regret everything about what he's ever done. "I won't need the stake because once I'm done with you, you'll use it on yourself to be put out of your misery."

Bodie pressed his lips together, afraid that if he dared to speak, he might allow a noise to escape. He knew that something like this was going to come, he knew that this was going to come. He should have known that Klaus would hate him for everything that he's ever done. He knew that no matter what Klaus would never forgive him, never trust that what comes out of his mouth is the truth. He knew that he ruined everything and despite the need to think things, he knew that there was nothing coming back from this.

Bodie straightened. "Know that I loved you, Niklaus Mikaelson. And I'm sorry that it had to come to this. I never intended to hurt you this way."

"Get out." Klaus snapped. "Get out of my house."

Bodie wanted to say something, try, and justify what he did more, but he knew that no matter what he said, nothing would change. How could he ever change what's happened? There's nothing that he could do to take back what's happened. He killed Henrik, he lied to all of them for so long, he kept so much from them. How could they trust him?

He sighed. "I'm sorry, Nik. For all of it." He then turned, though the second that his back was turned towards Klaus, he felt the way that his tears rolled down his cheek. He heard the way that Will followed after Bodie, though he didn't fully acknowledge that Will was there until they got outside.

It wasn't until they got outside that Bodie let his emotions take hold of him. He found himself crying, though he knew that he had no right to do such a thing, and yet he was crying over his pent-up guilt, the fact that he'd lost the connection to the people that he cares most about. He was no longer that eleven-year-old boy that wanted to make friends in a new village, and he finally had to release the people that he once loved.
