Chapter One - 1584 Words
I was falling. Falling from the sky.
The sky was a beautiful blue colour with only a few splotches of white, fluffy clouds that slowly danced without a single sound.
A frown formed on my perfectly-shaped red lips as I reached my hand out towards the sky, closing my visible eye because I know that when land comes, I would surely perish. My long, white hair swung back and forth from the force of the wind.
I wasn't scared, yet I wasn't happy either. I was peaceful. I wanted to die, yet I wanted to live but my desire to live was stronger than my will to die so I braced myself for my landing as I felt as though there were only mere seconds left until I hit the hard soil of the earth.
But the ground never came. Pain, yes... but not the hard soil I was expecting. Instead, I felt the coldness of skin rubbing against mine, holding me up. I slowly opened my eyes, afraid of what I might see. And what I saw truly shocked me.
'I landed... on a titan.'
I looked around frantically, scared that the titan might devour my aching form as I lay there, giant brown eyes staring back at my blue one.
I closed my eye again, waiting for the titan to eat me up... but, after a while, nothing happened. Shakily, I opened my eyes back up and saw that the titan was still staring at me.
I was confused at why the titan hadn't eaten me yet but, at the same time, I was relieved. Grateful, even. Grateful that I was still alive.
I stood up slowly and looked around. I noticed that I was standing on the right palm of a titan, about 8 metres away from the ground. There were fields of green grass and to the right lay a forest. A big one, at that.
And then.. it hit me like a bag of potatoes...
'My wish was granted... I'm in Attack On Titan'
I grinned as I looked down at myself to see what I was wearing. I wore a long, puffy white dress that went down to the lower part of my legs, just barely touching the titan's palm. I looked at my arms, noticing that something was touching them, and found red ribbons wrapping around my arms, there were white bands in the middle of both parts of my arms. I felt something on my neck and reached out to touch it, feeling a chocker with silver strings connecting to the four bands on my arms. Something was covering my right eye and as I felt it, I let out a breath of relief as I didn't want anyone to see both of my eyes. I touched the top of my head and felt a headband with two roses on the side of my head.
I felt something move behind me and as I turned my head around, my visible eye widened in shock because what I saw amazed me. I saw a pair of large white angel wings that lay limp on my back.
I tried to move them around and slowly but surely the - I mean, my wings started to flutter. It felt nice to have wings... that meant I could fly. To say that I was excited wasn't understatement... I was ecstatic! I could finally fly and be free: something I've always wanted to do.
I tested to see if u could fly by moving my wings up and down. After a few beats, I got the gist of it and beat them harder to lift my body off the titan's hand. My grin grew wider as I was off of the hand I flew around the titan just to test my flying abilities. The titan watched as I did this; moving to catch me if I lost control.
'I'm finally free!' I flew towards a forest that had ginormous trees and landed on a branch just outside the forest's edge. I looked behind me to see if the titan that saved me was still following me but to my disappointment, it had left.
I wondered why the titan had saved me... and I also wondered how I got these wings... but it didn't really matter to me because I was finally free from the cage that my previous world had put me in. I could fly and that made me extremely happy.
I decided to see if the other titans would react the same as the one before: by not eating me. I know that at the time, I could've gotten myself killed but you only live once is what I always say... sometimes... okay, maybe not at all... but who cares!?
I spotted a titan not too far from where I was stranded and flew over to it. It seemed to notice my presence for it turned around and looked at me. It didn't make a single move that could've harmed me in any way; it just stood there, looking at me.
I felt a little uncomfortable with a titan just staring at me so I flew away, back in the direction of the forest. As I flew, I looked toward the east of the forest and saw a wall. Not just any wall but Wall Maria. It looked as though, the wall didn't have a hole in the wall yet because I spotted a gate a little to the right of where I was hovering.
Since the gate hadn't been destroyed yet, I guessed that Shinganshina hadn't been invaded by titans yet. I grinned to myself as I sat on a tree branch on the edge of the forest, observing the 50 metre wall in the distance.
Though, I didn't know which side of the wall this forest is located but I assume it's Shinganshina's. Why, you ask? Because the colossal titan has just appeared and has blown a hole where the gate used to be.
The old me would've tried to save as many people as possible but this me... oh, this me is enjoying all the screams that has penetrated the silence. Why? Because this is the new me is a sadist. Granted, I'm not that much of a sadist... but a sadist, no less.
I closed my eyes as I listened to the screams that erupted from within the walls. I sighed as I stood up with my eyes open again. "Oh, how I wish to listen to those screams more but... I've got things to do, things to see. Bye, people of Shinganshina, have fun in the afterlife!" I let a laugh escape my lips but quickly stopped as I knew that I had to eat something. I was starving.
Well, what can you do if your parents never fed you anything because they thought you were an evil monster that was waiting to kill them? I'll answer for you. You do Nothing. Just sit back, relax and watch because everyone's life ends. Some just end quicker than others.
Now, where was I? ... Ah, yes, food. Scavenging for food; something I've always been good at. Well, I've always been good at everything. Not to brag but I could probably survive without anyone for a few years. Probably. Actually, who am I kidding? I've been trying to survive my whole life without anyone there to help me so how is this any diffe-
Wait. I'm getting sidetracked again. Sorry... not. I'm sorry but I'm not sorry.
Anyways, before I get sidetracked again let us - ahem.. I mean, me - look for some wild animal to eat... ah, there, found one. It looks to be a deer. Yum, yum, yum. I can't wait. Oh, wait, I don't have to do... because the deer's already dead. How? Because I killed it. Simple as that.
I began to gather firewood and some stones to make a fire so I can cook the deer. Well, I think it's a deer... well, it doesn't really matter, as long as it's edible, I'll eat it.
Once, the meat was done cooking, I began to eat, taking slow bites because there was no need to rush. The titans wouldn't eat me so I had nothing to fear and I doubt any scouts would be here any time soon because of the wall. Well, it's not like I feared anything in the first place. Well, this me at least, the previous me was terrified of almost everything.
But enough about the past... the past is the past and I will never relive it again... or at least, I hope I don't...
Once I was done eating, I looked around for a cave and eventually, I found one. I lay down on the side of the cave and slowly but surely, began to fall asleep, faded screams in the background.
I had a nightmare. A nightmare about my previous life. The one where I was all alone, much like I am now... but I was more alone before than I am now because... now I have the titans, they would protect me but... I didn't have anyone before; it was just me, myself and I. All alone in that cruel world... but I held on, believing that it would get better... and it did because...
Pain does end. You just have to be there to see the end of it.
