I Couldn't
In between the days when you were not by my side, I would chance a look upon many of the different men passing flittingly through my life. And indeed—may I apologise —some of them were better than you in built, wittier than your laid-back speech, and possessed a fine car for a woman to ride in. And I wonder for a moment what it would feel like to fall in love with these men, so I closed my eyes and tried to put my feet in the shoes of the lucky women they would take out in the future. Tried as I might, I couldn't bring in the warmth that has always accompanied me when I was with you to my heart. I couldn't feel the butterflies or bees buzzing madly inside my stomach that always preceded your appearance on my doorstep. I couldn't feel my eyes lighting up as they would do whenever you stood before me, smiling with a bag of my favourite buns in your hands.
Oh well, what was I thinking? I have the best man ever in my life and I would never trade him with anyone else in this world.
