Nathan

It's been so many days working hard to get everything back together​. I hardly have anytime at home and I'm​ so happy that she has Matt their with her. I have such dedicated persons working with, we have managed to print back all the issue and the magazines are being distributed in the minute. As a reward I will be having a New year's party for them instead. They were so happy to hear, I'm so proud of them. With a smile on my face I lay on the coach in my office trying to get some rest.

Now I can tell the world that I'm not married to Nora. I can't put it off anymore.

After an hour I woke up pulling the black case from my pocket, flicking the cover over looking at the shining ring. I have been carrying it around with me ever since I brought it. I can't wait to propose to her, to wed her in a way that we will remember forever.

I never knew someone else pain could affect me this much.

I know that I'm in love because this reality is better than my dreams. I am in love. I love her. I push the ring back in my jacket. I looked at the calendar on my phone today is the 24th of December and tomorrow I will be ruining my mother Christmas because it's time to announce to the world that I'm fucking in love with Ashley. My baby.

"Stop, you can't go in" I heard Heather voice snapping me from my thoughts. I focus my eyes to the door. I saw Heather pulling Lava.

What does big mouth Lava wants now.

"Heather it's okay." I tell her and she leave closing the door behind.

Lava walks towards me. "Sorry to run in here like this but Heather wouldn't let me in." She tells me.

"It's fine, what do you want?" I questioned. I hope it's not a raise of pay because we can't afford to do that now. Everyone will still be getting their Christmas bonus but I can't afford a raise of pay.

"I don't know if anyone had told you as yet.? She paused.

"Go on" I tell her.

"I want to be the first one to tell you congratulations." She smile at me. I smile back. I know no one could pull off what the team did.

"Yea" I nodd "the team did an amazing job."

"I'm not talking about that."

"Then what Lava?" I asked her.

"Congratulations, your going to become a dad." She rushed up to me hugging me. "I always wanted to hug you. You smell nice." I ignored that part. Lava doesn't know Ashley and Ashley can't be pregnant because I never went naked on her.

"What?" I asked her again because I can't seems to process this.

"Nora, I just heard her on the phone telling someone she's three months pregnant."

"Nora?" Who everyone thinks is my wife.

"Yes, she was leaving​ your mom office." Lava is the gossip queen of this place so I think she's telling the truth because she knew everyone business.

Nora is pregnant. The whole room begins to spin as I tried to process this news. Nora is pregnant.

This can't be happening. I know I never had sex with Nora but they won't know.

"Okay Lava thank you." I told her and she left. I walk to my desk and take out the half bottle of vodka from my desk and turned it to my head.

I make my way to the elevator and I can't wait for it to get to the top floor. It's moving too fucking slow. I tap my fingers on the elevator as I wait, impatiently​.

A man in jeans and dress shirt walked pass me giving me a smile.

I never called out her name. I walk straight to her office. Pushing the door open. JP is lucky he's not here because if he was hear and tried to stop me, heaven help him.

"What did you do this time mother?" I asked her. She had on this gigantic smile on her face.

"Something that needs to be done. Did you pass the journalist on your way here?" She questioned me.

"Is Nora pregnant mother?" I asked her. She had this shock expression on her face then she recompose herself. She reached forward for the mug and drink whatever she had inside.

"Indeed she is." She answered, placing back the mug on her desk.

Suddenly everything that was happening flashes into my mind. The announcement of the fake marriage. Her constant plead for me to make love to Nora. Her plead of needing a grandchild. The anger in me was fueling, boiling at more than one hundred degrees right now. I swing the bottle of vodka to my head trying to keep calm because I don't want to do something that I will regret tomorrow.

"Is that the reason why you were forcing me to marry her?" And when I married Ashley in my drunken state it was the perfect opportunity for her.

She remained silent.

"Is this the reason why you keep forcing me to sleep with her."

"It was the perfect opportunity to merge the companies to make more money. When George told me that Nora is pregnant and not sure who the father is. I had this genius plan. Too bad you were were too stubborn to corporate." She looked at me , taking a sip from the mug again.

"What the hell mom? You wanted me to take care of a baby that wasn't mine. You wanted to pin that baby on me? When you clearly know I don't like Nora in an intimate way."

"I had to do what I had to do."

"What did you tell the journalist?" I question her.

"You will have to wait to find out." She took a sip from her mug again. The words 'worlds best mom' was smiling at me. I walked up to her and grab it from her hand and without hesitation I smashed​ it against the wall. She doesn't deserve that title anymore.

"Nathan stop!" She shouted. "That was my favorite mug."

"What did you tell him!" I yelled stamping the vodka bottle so hard on her desk that it shattered. She flinched​ and jump from the chair in shock.

She stand at the window looking at me and I look her back into her eyes. "I told him I'm so proud that you will become a father and I'm happy that this baby is with Nora." She didn't even blinked.

"Why are you so wicked!" I yelled. Pushing the vodka bottle to my lips trying to keep calm as the sweet liquid burns my throat.

"It's all because I love you."

"This is not love mother. Your​ hating me in every way possible and for what!!""

"For what? For greed, for money?" She blinked tears from her eyes but I don't give a fuck.

"No" she shook her head as the maskara smudge her facing. Just making her resemble the evil queen.

"When you announced I was married to Nora I accept that and bare the pain I was feeling inside just because I love you. Just because I didn't want you to leave the company you spend years building but all you show me is hate. You so deceiving."

"But Nora loves you."

"Love!" I screamed smashing the vodka bottle on the wall "I don't fucking love her. What do you even call love?"

"This what we share." She points between us.

"I feel like you pushing a dagger in my back and that is not love."

"I hate you!" I screamed tears falling from my eyes. I lift the chair and trow it across the room and it shattered the glass in the far corner.

"It was for the best." For the best?

"You don't know what's best for me. Only me know what's best for me and right now it's not you and it's definitely not Nora." Look at her , she's so beautiful but her heart isn't anymore. I bet if I stick my hand in her chest and removed her heart it would be so fucking black.

"I'm going to fucking-"

"Mother." Willa calls from the outside.   I kicked the stand of the desk and Willa rushed inside. I'm going to break every fucking thing just like how I'm breaking right now.

Willa rushed inside, coming over towards us. "what's going on?" She question looking between us.

"Tell her!" I yelled taking up her precious snow angel. "Or I will break this"

"Mom, what did you do?" Willa asked.

"I told the journalist the Nora is pregnant for Nathan." She confessed and immediately will moved away from her. She looked at me.

"I never slept with Nora, Willa." I tell my sister.

"Mom how could you." Willa asked her and I let her snow angel slipped from my hand. Oops.

"No!" She screamed as she watched it fell. I looked at her love for her material things.

I looked at her, the woman I called mother. The woman who should protect me and shield me from the evil of this world but instead she hurt me. She hurt me so fucking much. This pain is unbearable.

"You are not my mother anymore." I told her. She looked at me sobbing.

"Nathan please don't say that." Willa hold my hand "come let's go before you say anything else that you will regret." I looked at my mom. As Willa pulled me from her office. I didn't even looked back.

"Nathan I'm so sorry." Will pull me into a hug. Then she push me in my office. I can't stay here.

"I should have corrected this in the first place but I just let it get out of hand."

"You wouldn't know, you just let the love you have for mom blinded you."

"It's because I never knew I would fall in love with Ashley. Willa I love her but I'm just too scared to say."

"I know you're​ scared but I was happy when I heard you were married. I said to myself my brother finally moving on. I know you were broken back then and all I ever wanted was for you to be happy."

"I screwed up everything."

"No, well maybe but I'm here by your​ side and I will help you fix this."

"Okay sis, because I don't know what to do."

"I'm going to make a call okay." She started walking away.

"Willa" I called her back "your my world." I hugged her. I should have been​ more like my sister who stand up to mom and don't take her bullshit.  Sometimes tough love is what I should have done else I wouldn't be in this situation.

"Don't move until I get back okay." Willa whispered to me before she left and I nodd.

I walk to my desk and take out a bottle of Scotch then I make my way over to the coach and sit, drinking hard. Trying to erase everything from my mind but that was useless when she burst through my door. I lift my eyes and see my mom staring right at me.

"Nathan I'm sorry!" She yelled walking towards me.

"No you're not. You're only sorry because you got caught."

"I'm sorry ok. I should have told you Nora was pregnant."

My mind flash back to the day in the back of the limo when I noticed Nora have gain weight but I wasn't even thinking about her being pregnant and if I remember clearly she was drinking sparkling wine. Why didn't I noticed all these signs. Why didn't I?

"Just go I don't want to see you!" I yelled.

"Please Nathan, stop the drinking. It's not good for you."

"Now your worried about me? Like I said you don't know what's good for me so get out!" I point towards the door.

"No, not until you forgive me." I'm trying my best here to keep calm because she's my mother already and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be in this world but she's getting on my last nerve.

"Haven't you hurt me enough already?"

"No, what I did was for your own good. You keep sleeping around with different woman all the time. It was to help you become committed. And it helps me gain some profits so-"

"Enough woman, I don't what to hear another word from you. Get out!"

"No!"

"Fine stay. I will leave." I stand from the coach placing the bottle of scotch on the table." Soon as I place the bottle and was about to leave Ashley came running in.

"Nathan." She called my name and rushed over to my side holding me.

"Ashley? What you doing here?"

"Willa​ said I should come get you." She whispered to me.

"Did she tell you what happened?" I question her.

"No, she just said you need me now, so I should come get you."

"Look at her come running to your side like a little bitch." My mother voice surface in the air. I totally forgot about her standing there. I told you Ashley helps me to forget.

"Enough mother! Don't you dear insult her!" I yelled.

"If it wasn't for her you would be happily married with Nora."

"Nora, Nora, Nora it's always about her isn't it mother? Why the yelled don't you just go married her and leave me the fuck alone." I screamed.

My mom laughs like I said something funny.

"Always had a thing for the whores." She puts her hand on her hip.

"Runs in the family, starting with Dad." I said as the image of her and George flash in my mind.

"Nate baby, please come." Ashley whispered to me holding onto my hand.

"You and your little bitch. I bet she's only stick with you for your money."

Ashley let's go her hold on my hand and walk up to my mother "I'm not going to stay here and let you insult me. You think it's always about money? To you money is power but to me money is just a material things. I don't love him for his money. I love him for the kind-hearted person he is. He always puts another person happiness before his. He has a heart of gold something you will never understand and that my friend is better than money."

She continued "You can have all the riches in the world and still be unhappy because you have no friends and no family. Their love is better than anything in this world. Money can't buy happiness" My mom stood silent looking at Ashley, she blinked her eyes twice

"Money is everything." Her greed for money is piosoing her mind.

"Keep telling yourself that." Ashley said to her.

"Come baby let's go." Ashley calls me and I walked up to her holding her hand and pulling her out of the office, leaving my mom behind.

"How you feeling?" Ashley asked me as soon as we reached outside​. Finally a breath of fresh air.

"Better now your here." I tell her while placing a kiss on her forehead "thank you."

We sit in the car. Ashley said she's driving since she smell so much alcohol on me. I was on the verge of getting drunk. We reached home and she parked the car in the garage then she help me get inside.

"What was that about?" She questioned as we reached the living room.

"I don't even want to repeat it."

"Please I need to know." She cuff my cheeks looking into my eyes.

"Nora is pregnant and everyone is thinking it's mine."

"Oh" her​ hands fell from my face.

"I never sleep with her, trust me."

"I know."

"You know what? That I never slept with her or that she's pregnant?"

"Both."

"Did Willa told you?"

"No, I know for quite sometime."

"How long?" I questioned I need to know.

"Since the night of the charity event."

"What! That has been months and you never told me."

"I wanted to tell you trust me but I didn't know how."

"I have to pretend with Nora that we were a couple do you know how much that was killing me on the inside." I could have end this month's ago.

"Why didn't you tell me.!" I yelled.

"It wasn't my secret to tell."

"Of course it was your secret to tell because your​ married to me." Right now I don't know if I trust any woman at all.

"Your never want to get married in the first place, you clearly told me you don't do love. You can even tell me if you love me!" She yelled.

"Was this a plan with my mother? To get married to me and then​ she announced that I'm married to Nora? Because she knows I would never go through with marrying Nora."

"No, it wasn't. I never met Elizabeth before." All the women I have love hurt me. They all hurt me.

"I can't even look at you now. Just go!"

"What?"

"Just go. Get out of my house. I have now lost my trust in woman." I said as tears slipped from my eyes. My heart was breaking and I can't have her here.

"What?"

"Are you deaf? I said get out!" I yelled even louder. She flinched and take a step back.

"You don't mean this." She shook her head looking at me.

"Trust me, I do just do."

"Nat-"

"Aunty is everything okay." I heard Matt call from the stairs. I totally forget about him. When I turned he was already at the bottom of the stairs looking at us.

"Yes everything is fine Matt." Ashley walk up to him.

"But your eyes are leaking." He points to her face.

"Everything is fine. Let's go." She lift Matt in her arms and walk towards the door. She looked back at me before she opened the door and walked out. I was glued in my spot and I never run behind her. I never tried to stop her from leaving.
