" There your are. I thought you forgot the way here. Or you lost your car key?" He said sinisterly.

" I'm extremely sorry, sir.''

" Will your sorry change everything? Or it will adjust everything to normal?" He rose his left brow as a sign of he wants the answer without twisting and turning.

" My brother he left our home. He went somewhere else faraway. I just can't accept it. So it took me three days to recover from all those messy ball of situations.''

" Do I even care about your brother, Chris? Answer me!" He shouted loudly until every head turn towards them. The cabin have see through glass panel. And it's non sound proof.

" I don't know. I was too emotional and I even don't know I'll get too emotional. I couldn't accept the truth. Everything happened in front of my eyes."

" It happened in front your eyes not mine. You don't have to act. Try to imagine this. Someone you know and you trust the most didn't pick your phone calls for three days. How will you feel about it?"

" Mad." Only one word escaped from Chris's lips.

" That's what I felt. I tried to call your phone like hundreds of times not even once you picked up the call."

" I threw my phone outside my window. After few hours I took it back. Luckily I found my sim card."

" Then who's phone your are using right now?" He asked.

" My old phone. Lenovo vibe. And, luckily this phone is still working." Chris placed the phone on the desk.

" So, you don't recognise my voice, hah? I had to use my wife's phone to call you and finally you picked it. I'm really mad with you, actually."

Flashback ( The phone call)

" Hello. Good morning. Who's this?'' Chris asked politely.

'' Your honourable CEO.''

'' Sir, I'm extremely sorry. I should informed the reason I didn't come to work.''

'' Stop blabbering and come here immediately.''

'' I'll be there as soon as possible.''

'' I was actually in a thought of dismissing you. That's the main reason I asked you to be here.'' Mr. Ford breaks the silence.

Chris just stood like a mannequin.  He don't how should he react or what should he say as a response.

'' Your are listening, right? Don't act like you didn't hear anything. Because I don't like to repeat the same sentences over and over. It makes me sick.''

'' What did I do? You always said I'm the best man here. The man you always can rely on?Where did all those words gone? You lied all this long?'' Chris's anger burst out from his chest.

'' Your the best man, always. But, because of you one and only. My company suffer the biggest loss ever. Your the one incharge in the new development project. We lost that project because of you. Because of your damn signature. You're the project  manger, you're the one who should sign it. We loss 700k in a week. Because of you. All because of you, idiot!! And you're expecting me to keep you here after this catastrophe?''

'' I thought I signed it. B-but, I'm wrong all this long.''

'' In your dream, Chris!!'' Ford threw a file exactly on Chris.
'' Take that file and type a resignation letter.''

He continued few seconds later.
'' Mention the reason why you didn't sign the contract papers? Is it because you're jealous?''

'' He is really testing my patiences.''

Chris stepped back and turned his heels to face the door. When his hand reaches the door knob. Ford yelled.

'' Take that file with you, Chris. If you didn't take it, I'll not give the 20% commission from previous projects and no salary. Better you take it!!!''

'' Keep your money with you, Ford. You'll never know the pain until your are the one who have to suffer it. One day just wait for it. I can find a better job than this one.''

'' Chris!! Get lost, man!'' Ford yelled fiercefully.

Chris walked away without turning back at anyone. Everyone looked at him quizically. What he had done? That question is definitely roaming inside their mind. Chris the best worker here being unprofessional? This is really weird.
