Hallucination

---

It has been three weeks and Will still hasn't woken up. Bruce is almost going out of his mind. He can feel the Hulk banging around inside him, wanting to break free, wanting to kill the person who hurt his brother. For the first time, Bruce agreed with him.

For most of the first week, Bruce stayed with Tony in the Stark Tower but apparently Natasha got annoyed with the constant texts he sent her that she arranged for him to have a room on the Helicarrier, so he could visit Will whenever he wanted, whenever he needed.

Bruce checked on his brother every day, at the same time, for the same amount of time, 6:30am to 12:45am, before going to bed for a short nap, he was not able to sleep properly due to his worry for Will. That repeated for two weeks until he nearly collapsed for exhaustion, making Natasha put his mind to rest by letting him know that she would watch over Will whenever she could.

Now he checks on him at reasonable times, and when he's not with Will he distracts himself by working in the lab, which is uncomfortable quiet.

What Bruce didn't know was that Natasha also checked on Will every day, she sneaks into the room whenever Bruce goes to bed and leaves just before he comes back.

She felt guilty for leaving him during the attack, and she's not the only one. Natasha and Steve have been talking with each other, she has been updating him on how Will was doing. Steve had told her that he feels equally guilty and had asked if he could come and check on Will.

Now, Natasha was waiting on the land zone as a helicopter landed. It opened to show Steve Rogers, who noticed the assassin and walked towards her.

When he reached her, he said, "Thank you for this. How is he?"

Together they walked to the medical room, "The doctors said he would heal, he's just not waking. They have changed their mind on when Will would wake, first it was two days, now it might be another week!"

Steve reached out to Romanoff, grabbing her arm making her stop, "Natasha, I'm sure Will will be fine. He's been through a lot the past few weeks. Give him time. When he's ready, he will wake up."

The redhead sighed, rubbing a hand over her hand before dropping it, "You're right, but it doesn't stop me from..."

Rogers finished the sentence for her with a small, gentle smile, "Worrying?"

She sighed again, crossing her arms and looking down at the floor.

Frowning at this, Steve said, "Natasha, it's alright to be worried about him."

"No, it's not!" She said loudly, lifting her head to look at the taller man, "In the line of work we are in, we have no time for distractions. Will had tried to stop me from doing my job down there because his feelings for me clouded his judgement!"

"And yet, you still kissed him."

"It was a moment of weakness, it won't happen again."

Steve shook his head and told her with a calm voice, "You and me both know that's a lie."

---

Blood.

There's blood everywhere.

He raises his hand to the moon light. The blood looks black.

He is kneeling on the floor, in a pool of blood.

Raising his head, he looks to his right where there is a body. Blood pouring from it.

In this moment, in the dark, his only light coming from the pale moon, he feels calm. Almost powerful. With blood seeping through his jeans, blood flowing over his hand still on the ground.

He watches in fascination as the blood dips from his raised hand and splashes in the puddle below him, causing it to ripple.

In this moment, watching the blood rise around him, he didn't feel guilty. He felt unstoppable.

---

Natasha was about to respond but before she could a voice at the end of the hallway called her, "Ms Romanoff!"

Turning, she saw one of the doctors. When they saw they had her attention they shouted, "He's awake."

Wasting no time, the assassin jogged down the corridor, the Captain following close behind her.

They moved past the doctor, who was about to follow them, however Steve shouted over his shoulder to get Dr Banner.

As they got closer to Will's room they could hear someone yelling. Sharing a concerned look, the two ran faster to the medical room.

Just as they were about to enter the room, a doctor stumbled out, panting.

She looked up at the two newcomers and let out a relieved sigh, "Captain Rogers, Ms Romanoff! Thank God you're here."

"What's happening?"

"Banner, he-he attacked us when we noticed he was waking. He was shouting something like, 'No, please leave me alone, I'm sorry!'" The woman said, looking confused.

Steve also looked confused but with one glance at Natasha, he could tell that she understood, "Romanoff?"

She ignores him, looks at the female doctor in front of her, telling her, "I'm going in." Before trying to push pass the women.

The doctor reaches out, blocking her path, "No, it's not safe, he had thrown a doctor into the wall knocking them unconscious and hit two others! Banner is very unstable right now."

Without looking at the womean, Natasha told her, "He's always unstable." With that she forcefully pushed the women to the side and walked into the room.

Steve smiled apologetically at the women before following.

---

The doctors didn't get much of a sign that Will would be waking soon, that's why when he suddenly started to thrash about in his bed they all became alert.

As they were trying to make sense of the sudden movement, Will snapped into a sitting position gasping, startling the doctors.

They watched in bemusement as Will stared at his own hands in horror. He then frantically started to rub his hands on the bed sheets, speaking in quite but rushed sentences.

One of the four people in the room became brave and asked, "Banner?"

Hearing this, said man froze, almost as if he didn't expect anyone to be with him. Slowly he looked up, his eye line didn't make it to the doctor's eyes before he let out a scared gasp.

Fumbling, he fell out of the bed, getting tangled up in the sheets, he said in a shaking tone, which grew in volume as he spoke, "No, no, no, no. Please just-ju-just ... leave me alone! Please! I'm sorry!"

Will quickly glanced at all the people in the room, seeing the same thing. Him. The younger Banner ran a shaking hand through his hair, letting out a pained cry.

"Banner! We need you to calm down."

Will watched as one of the persons feet moved towards him, making him shake more, "No! No, no, no!"

The feet that were coming closer paused, before continuing. When they got close enough to touch him, Will got a sudden amount of energy, grabbed the man in front of him, feeling the non-existing blood pour over his hands, and with a lot of strength threw him into a nearby wall causing the man to hit his head and fall to the ground.

Banner looked up with wide, wild eyes at the other three identical men all wearing white coats, one with long hair which is normal seen on a woman. But they all had the same face, covered in blood, dull, lifeless white eyes.

Two of the men ran to him and tried to restrain him. Will was confused as to who he was when he slammed his head into the other's, almost pleased to hear a cry and a sickening crack. Turning around, he raised his knee and hit the man in the stomach, making bend over before he raised his other knee and brought it to his face.

Will Banner watched as the men ran to the door. The man with the long hair stood there staring at him until he too ran to the room.

He was about to leave as when he heard man he threw groan. Looking around the room, Will noticed a jacket on a nearby chair, the handle of a gun falling out of the pocket.

Grabbing it, he cocked it and aimed it at the man on the floor.

That is when Natasha and Steve run in. They immediately stopped.

Will, hearing the door slam open, pointed the gun at the two new same looking men.

One with odd short red hair, the other taller with blond hair. Somewhere in Will's mind it looked familiar. The one with the red hair started to shift and change until it stopped.

"Will." Said the one with blond hair, blood running down his face, staining his collar. "Where did you get that gun?"

The red head put a hand on his hip, before sighing, "He got it from my jacket over there." He told the other, pointing to where the coat was.

The man with the red hair, Will wasn't sure if it was red because of all the blood, stepped forward, hands raised, "Will, it's okay. You're alright now, the portal is closed. Just hand over the gun."

Will didn't listen, tightening his grip, aiming the gun at the one on the floor, "Don't come any closer." The red head listened and stopped, Will continued, "Please just leave me alone, I didn't mean to! I'm sorry."

Steve frowned, "What is he talking about, Natasha?"

The assassin sighed, "Long story short, Will killed someone and now is hallucinating him."

Rogers eyes widen and was about to speak before he was cut off by Will.

Will watched as the two, should be dead, men talk, but freezes when he hears her name.

"N-Natasha?"

The red head man turns to look at him. His white eyes slowly change into a forest green.

"Yes, Will. It's me, Natasha! Your friend." They start to shift again. The pale, blood covered face changes into the soft skinned face of the women he has feeling for.

Will releases a relived sigh, "Natasha."

She smiles gently at him.

Out of the corner of Will's eye he sees the door swing open. Turning around, he pointed the gun at the newcomer, who raised their hands in the air, "Whoa, Will! It's me, it's Bruce!"

The younger Banner heard his brother's voice but couldn't see his face. It was just that man again, pale, bloody and dead.

Will could feel his eyes start to burn with tears as he shouted, "I don't understand what's happening!"

"Will." He turned to the soft voice and saw Natasha stepping closer to him, "Will, it's alright."

He watched her with tears threatening to fall, he looked at the other people in the room, seeing the same man but now knowing it's not real.

As a tear dropped, so did his energy, He lowed gun a few inches, saying, "Please don't lie to me!"

The man with Bruce's voice walked to him and stood in front of him, "She's not lying Will, you're okay now."

He then gently put his hand over Will's on the gun, slowly pushing it down.

The younger cried more as the gun slipped out of his hand and fell to the floor.

"What's happening to me?" He cried out before rubbing a shaking hand over his face.

When his hand fell he looked up and saw the face of his brother. Looking around, he saw Natasha, Steve and a scared doctor on the floor.

Another sob fell from his mouth.

Bruce could feel his heart break at the sight, "Will, it's okay. Everything is okay." He said, bring his brother into a comforting hug.

They all listened as Will cried into Bruce's shoulder.
