Chapter 5: Powers
My heart beat rippled throughout my body as I kept up with the Avengers, dodging attacks and fighting off the enemy with only my combat knowledge. I didn't want to use my powers, not unless it was absolutely necessary.
"(Y/n) and Tony! You go find the hostages, keep them safe! We'll take care of the threat!" Steve told us, rushing away from the two of us to hold off attackers that were coming after us while we rushed forward into the dark building, shielding ourselves from the gunfire.
"You alright, (Y/n)?" Tony asked me, breathing heavily as he leaned against the metal wall.
"Yeah," I panted, leaning next to him, "what about you?"
"Fine. Let's go save those hostages." Tony pushed himself off the wall, heading further into the building. We saw families and children, fathers and daughters, life partners tied up in that room. One small boy had been wounded and needed immediate medical assistance.
"Tony, you help the boy and I'll- Aghk!" I yelped in pain as a bullet pierced my shoulder. I bit my lip to the point of it bleeding, bringing forth memories of the glass cage. I pushed out all of those thoughts and turned to see many people approaching us. I knew that I couldn't take them, not with the hostages in danger.
"(Y/n)!" Tony exclaimed, stepping closer to me.
"No! Help the kid! I'll, "I winced mid sentence, "I'll stop these guys." I turned around slowly, then outstretched my hands slowly and caved in the metal walls, crushing the walls, ceiling and floor into eachother to where we couldn't get shot at. I had to hold it there.
"Wow... can you still move? I need some help untying these guys." Tony told me, continuing to free people.
"Would if I could, Tony. That's the thing about bending reality, it doesn't stay bent unless you force it to." I grunted, trying to keep the area closed as they fired into it, trying to push past. When Tony finally got untied I began to formulate a plan.
"Alright, uh... Tony? I have a plan, but... I don't think you're gonna like it." I said to my 'partner in crime' after a while.
"I'm all ears." He replied, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Great. Call your suits over, have them protect all of these families and take them to safety. I'll need you to go with them to make sure that they stay safe." Tony seemed taken aback and instantly concerned.
"What? I can't leave you!" He argued, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Heh. I told you you wouldn't like it. Look, I'll be fine. Just go, and-er- hurry!" I yelled the last part as my strength was beginning to give. After Tony got everyone out I finally let everything slide back into place. The people on the other side looked at the busted open back wall, confused and disoriented.
"Sorry, fellas. No one's here anymore," I allowed fire to engulf my body and I could see black at the corners of my eyes. "It's only me." I smirked and flew at them, dodging bullets with ease. I spiked out parts of the walls, impailing some of the soldiers and then dropping them with the walls going back to normal. I could tell that the whole place was about to cave in on us and so, with one more fiery blast, I brought the whole thing down on top of us.

Tony's POV
I watched as everything fell and scanned the rubble for heat signatures. I found a rather large one, almost like a raging fire. Then, from where I sensed the flame, came rumbling as a figure covered in fire emerged from the pile of melted metal. It was (Y/n). She wiped some blood from her lip, then reached up to see that her head was bleeding. I came over quickly, the fire beginning to die out.
"Yo, Tony! What's up?" She said nonchalantly. I stared at her a moment then burst out laughing. I laughed for about five minutes straight, then slapped her on the back.
"Come on. Let's head back to the tower." I said finally, draping my arm around (Y/n) as everyone came over to see us.
"Lady (Y/n), are you alright!?" Thor asked, staring at (Y/n)'s bleeding forehead.
"Take it easy, Point Break. She's fine. Right?" I turned to her, looking for conformation.
"Yeah. I'm good." She chuckled out, winking at Thor.
"She's tough." Natasha commented before suddenly glancing down at her watch. She was getting a call from Fury. She answered it and his face showed up on the holographic screen, his usual resting scowl on.
"Good work, team. I knew this wouldn't take you lon-"
"Yeah! It didn't take us long but (Y/n) got shot and she needs medical attention!" Clint shouted suddenly, coming over to look at Fury.
"Then get back. I'm not stopping you. Enjoy the rest of your day." Fury said sarcastically, turning off the call. We all began to walk before seeing a shining streak of blue, green, pink, yellow and green light appeared in the sky. We all stared until we saw the light touch down, sending a wave of wind in our direction. We looked to eachother, sharing worried looks before rushing in the direction we thought it may have landed.
When we finally reached the area (Y/n) was the first to walk towards the strange symbol that sat upon the grass. She rubbed it gingerly, pinching a bit of dirt in her hands and rubbing it between her fingers, causing the individual specks to fall back to the ground slowly.
"It's strangely warm..." She finally commented, standing up and straightening herself out. She told us that she was going ahead and that we should all stay back.
"You. Have been. SHOT. Does no one else care about this!?" Clint exclaimed, gesturing to (Y/n)'s shoulder. I hadn't realised it before, but the blood had dripped all the way through her sleeve and down her hand and was falling in little splatters upon the ground.
"You know, Bird Boy has a point... I really think we should head back before-"
"Wait, I know this mark..." Thor spoke out, looking up into the sky from where he was standing upon the strange circle.
"Is no one going to listen to me!? (Y/n) is literally bleeding out! What is wro-" Thor interrupted Clint.
"My brother is here." We all turned to him, (Y/n) included. Suddenly, (Y/n) raced off into the forest, which seemed to worry us all. Thor the most, it would seem. Almost instantly we rushed after (Y/n), trying to find her.

Your POV
I ran quickly through the woods, making sure to dodge past obstacles and obscure my path. I had to be the first to find him, the first to see him, the first to speak with him. I kept running until, eventually, I stumbed over a root in my endeavors and fell forward into a clearing. Through slightly closed eyes from the pain that suddenly shot up to my shoulder I looked up to see a man in black, gold and green with raven colored hair and piercing blue eyes standing over me. Instantly, I stood up, only to notice the blood spot on the green grass. I shuddered, the pain finally beginning to catch up to my adrenalin-shot brain.
"Hello. Who are you?" The man asked, looking into my (e/c) eyes. I gulped a small bit, my vision finally blurring. I was about to blow my chance!
"It... it's..." And then everything went black.
