Chapter 16: I'm Not Leaving Without you

"I can't believe that you talked us into this..." Stark commented, following the lead of Chuck whilst everyone was handcuffed and attached in a line.
"How did you even come up with this plan, anyway?" Stark continued, leaning around me slightly.
"(Y/n). She always had all of these crazy idea and... I guess she rubbed off on me." I chuckled myself. Thor turned around and grinned at me, to which I gave a raised eyebrow.
"Guys, hush! We're almost to the compound!" Chuck told us. We all kept quiet and put our heads low, making it look as if we had been captured. Two people were standing gaurd, just like before. They immediately drew their weapons at the sight of us.
"Traitor!" One of them shouted. Chuck put his hands up in defence, showing them the chain he had attached to us.
"You really think I would betray you? I just tricked that stupid girl back there so I could bring you a little gift, is all." The two lowered their weapons at Chuck's words.
"Want me to go rub it in her face?" Chuck asked. The pair of gaurds looked at each other, smirked, then let Chuck by. He led us down long, winding corridors until we made it to (Y/n)'s chambers. Chuck pulled out a key and unlocked the door and there was a loud creak when he pushed it open. As soon as I saw her I regretted leaving her. She was bloody and bruised and didn't care look up at us. Chuck closed the door behind us.
"(Y/n)..." He tried. She glanced up at him with her beautiful (e/c) eyes that were now cold and lifeless. I saw a twinkle of hope for a moment, but it was gone as soon as it arrived.
        "Chuck... what are you doing?"
(Y/n) asked. Chuck unchained all of us and then turned back to (Y/n).
"We're rescuing you, (Y/n)!" Chuck sounded relieved and excited. Suddenly, the legs of (Y/n)'s chair dug into the ground and rooted themselves there.
"No. You're not. I belong here."
"No, you don't. You belong at home... with us." Stark interjected.
(Y/n) smiled to herself.
"Tony, not even you believe that. It's okay. I'm happy here." I felt my stomach twist up as I realised what it had truly come to.
"You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?" Chuck asked. Stark rubbed his face.
        "I'm afraid so." Barton sighed.
"Well... who's gonna do it?" Romanoff questioned.
"I'll do it." Chuck offered. He hadn't known her that long, so I suppose it was probably for the best.
"Well... I hate to break it to ya, sweetheart, but... we can't live without you." Chuck grabbed a Gunn from over his shoulder and reared it back.
"Chuck, no! You know what I'll do if you do this!"
"Yeah. You'll stay put. For some reason the 'other chick' can't break out of those chains." Chuck's demeanor had suddenly changed and was slightly worrying me. And the way he had talked to her... the pet names he used... I was fuming under my calm facade. He hit her over the head and I instinctively turned away. I hadn't wanted to do that, but it was far better than the alternative. (Y/n)'s body reanimated and black goo leaked from her mouth and her eye color changed from it's regular (e/c) to a dark black within seconds.
"Uh-oh! Seems like somebody woke me u-... oh, Loki. You hot piece if ass! Get over here!" She growled sensually. I felt a shiver go up my spine.
"Grab the chair and let's get out of here!" Chuck demanded. We grabbed the chair, as instructed, and rushed through the compound. People began to rush after us instantly. I put up a barrier between us and the bullets but it wouldn't hold long. We ran quickly, zipping through the halls and out into the open night air.
"How long do you guys plan to run and carry me? This isn't very comfortable." (Y/n)... no... not (Y/n). Whoever she is commented, her voice bouncing each time our feet hit the ground. When we got back we left her tied to the chair, leaving her to wake up there. I felt absolutely awful, but...  I needed her back with me. I don't know why exactly, I just... I need her. She helps me see the light, even in dark situations. As her voice began to transition back into a normal one, signalling that she was about to wake up, I gently kissed her forehead.
        "See you in the morning..."

"Did you have to hit her so hard?" Tony asked Chuck. She had been falling in and out of consciousness for days now. Today was different though. I could feel it. I walked into her room with food to see that she was fully conscious. I gasped and set the plate down, moving her hair from her face. Since when was I so soft?
"L... Loki... what have you done?" (Y/n) asked me, her eyes were full of pain and sorrow. I was slightly startled.
"W-what do you mean, love?" I asked, repositioning myself to be more comfortable.
"Why would you do this? I was happy, I couldn't hurt anyone, I was-" I hugged her.
"Quit talking like that! I don't care what you think because you. Are. Wrong! You are perfect and kind and beautiful." I pulled back. "You are going to be okay."
"How do you know?" She questioned me, trying to avoid my gaze. I grabbed her chin gently and she flinched. I moved her face to face mine again.
"Because you have something that no one else has." I smiled. She laughed.
        "Oh yeah? What's that?"
"The ability to forgive others... so why can't You forgive yourself?" She was a bit taken aback. She stared at the ceiling a moment.
"Because I don't deserve it." She told me after a moment.
"Maybe that's what you think, but let me tell you this; you did deserve it. You deserve the universe... I just wish someone would give it to you." I told her, undoing the chains on her. She rung out her hands and rubbed her wrists gingerly.
"Hey, she up ye-" Tony asked, walking in.
"Oh, hello, Stark." I gulped slightly.
"You do realise that, now that she's awake, you have to move back to the dungeon."
        "Yes, Stark. That was the-"
        "That's not happening."
"I beg your pardon?" Tony asked, turning to (Y/n).
"Oh, sorry if you were too busy cleaning the ego out of your ears to hear me, but I'll repeat myself. I said 'that's not happening'." I couldn't help but snicker to myself at (Y/n)'s sassy little quip. Tony turned and gave me an angry look so I pursed my lips to keep from laughing and that made
(Y/n) laugh a bit, too.
"Is this some shared joke at my expense because I don't appreciate it." Tony told the both of us.
"Look, I'm not going to apologize, Tony. Either he gets to stay up here with us or I'm going back." (Y/n) told Tony, staring him dead in the eyes.
"Oh, please don't." I moch-begged, though I was serious. Tony took a moment, thinking it over for a really long time. If he says no, it could really be the end of my time with (Y/n)...
