24) Born By The Moon

Title: Born By The Moon
Author: miarosesd
What is 'Born By The Moon'?
'Born By The Moon' is a story about a girl, Lunar, who was born 'different'. The kind of 'different' that sends you packing before you can even learn to crawl.

Rating -
           5.9/10 to the beginning
7/10 to the last few chapters currently posted

EBI -
The second to first sentence, '"Lunar, its time but you mustn't be afraid--"' has quite a few punctuation mishaps, and it continues through the story.
For e.g. - "Lunar, its time but you mustn't be afraid, choices are choices, but only one choice will be the right choice."
Would make more sense as - "Lunar, it's time. You mustn't be afraid; choices are choices, but only one choice...will be the right choice."
Do you see what I mean?
Another EBI is if you make the sentences more joint, and allow them to flow more.
For e.g. - He was standing half in the shadows. I could only make out his pale, skinny, and tall figure
Could be - I could only make out his pale, skinny, tall figure; half of him was being devoured/hidden by the shadows.
There's also a lot of times where you're missing 'that', in the sentence.
One other thing that specifically got on my nerves in the first chapter is how you say 'lounge room'... It's just the lounge, otherwise we'd have 'kitchen room' and 'toilet room' etc.
Also, instead of saying 'all right, I'll be back', you can just say 'alright'.

Review -
'Born By The Moon' has an intriguing plot set with some interesting characters that are bound to give the reader something to think about. The vocabulary used isn't entirely bad, but has some errors of common phrases, punctuation, and sentence flow. The supernatural tones set across a mysterious and almost romantic background really make the story glow with excitement. It is worth reading for those looking to find something sweet, colourful, and fantastical. The tense is current throughout, as for what I've read, anyway! And I have no doubts that the tense will remain the same in the next few updates up to the end of the story.

Recommended?
 - If you do not have Grammar Pedantry Syndrome, then you will love this book, especially if you favour the supernatural fantasies and romantic mysteries.

It's on the reviewed book list!
