Heavily inspired by the_beatles_are_fab  because I'm obsessed with "In Spite Of All The Danger". Please read it because it's all I think about now.

She stood at the door frame silently waiting to bust in any minute but her plans were altered when she heard Paul say, "Can you just admit this song is about Y/N?"
"You know, it really doesn't matter who this song is about as long as it's good enough to play, yeah?" John shot back.
"Well, I guess you're right I was just wondering. You've known her for quite a long time and the lyrics just seem to fit the bill that's all." Paul said backing down at the sudden burst of emotion from his friend. John sighed loudly, clearly distraught as Y/N walked into the room.

"So you have a new song, Johnny?" She asked submissively, knowing he had just been heated.
He smiled at the sound of her voice and patted the spot next to him. He played it for her without her even having to ask and then looked to her for criticism.  "Another knock out, my friend." He looked conflicted at the happiness from the compliment and pain from the "my friend".

"Look, John. I wanna talk about something." Paul suddenly looked interested in this interaction again and Y/N quickly grabbed John's hand and pulled him out to the hall.
"What is it?" He asked concerned. "I just... um-" John cut her off with, "The song is about you. I know you heard me and Paul so... yeah it's about you." He tucked his hands into his pockets and looked at his feet then slowly back up at Y/N.  "I kinda hoped it was actually." She admitted. He smirked and grabbed her hands. "How long have you-"
"Oh, god since last year. You?"
"I've got ya beat, little girl. Since I met you."
They laughed relieved that they could finally be honest with each other and John grabbed her face.
"I sure sound like a bitch asking this but may I?" He asked.
"Hahaha, please."
Their lips touched and moved in sync just as they had always imagined they would. Paul walked out with a camera a snapped a photo. John turned irritated.
"I'll never let you live this down!" Paul yelled as he ran down the hall with the camera.
