Within The Temple
George Imagine:
You were seated on a soft, fuzzy carpet within the temple in your home country, India. Your head was bowed, and your eyes were closed in peaceful concentration, murmuring your regular prayers to the God you believed in. You were sitting cross-legged, your mind drifting further and further into the abyss of quiet prayers and peace.
You didn't open your eyes when you heard the doors of the temple slide open. You were barely startled. Nothing could break your concentration. Nothing could cloud away the breezy calmness you felt inside. You felt closer to your God. You had never felt so at peace with yourself.
"Hello?" said a deep voice behind you.
To this, you opened your eyes. You slowly craned your neck to take a look at the man who dared to interrupt your prayers. Your eyes landed on a familiar face with thick dark hair and a short moustache and beard. His intriguing eyes were dark and held such mysteriousness. You bit your lower lip and offered him a smile. You knew who he was.
"Hello," you replied, standing up and facing him. "How do you do?"
"Quite well, thanks," he responded with a kind smile. He had a Scouse accent, which confirmed who he definitely was.
You were a fan of The Beatles, especially George Harrison. However, knowing that he had just gone through a divorce with the gorgeous model, Pattie Boyde, you decided it was best to not mention anything. You figured he came to India for a time of peace and quiet. It was known that he was drawn to the Indian culture.
"I'm sorry if I interrupted you," he said with an apologetic look.
"Oh, no," you shook your head. "Don't apologize. I was just finishing up."
George nodded with a small grin lighting up his face, which adorned his high cheekbones. You had always thought he was attractive, but you never would have guessed that he was more handsome in person. But of course, you said nothing of it.
"May I ask your name, love?" he asked.
"Oh, yes," you chuckled. "My name is Y/N."
"That's a lovely name," he complimented. You smiled in thanks, containing the blush that nearly burnt your cheeks. "I'm George. George Harrison."
You nodded. "Of course. I knew that."
"Did you?" George arched a thick eyebrow. "Then why didn't you ask?"
You shrugged your shoulders. "I figured you needed some space," you said softly. "So I decided not to bother you about it."
He let out a quiet, "Ah," in response. Though he didn't say anything, he looked utterly grateful that you never mentioned recognizing him as the famous "Quiet Beatle".
"Would you like to proceed with some meditation?" you asked.
"Yes, that would be wonderful," he smiled. "But you know what would be better?"
"What?"
"If you would be so kind as to join me, love."
You raised your eyebrows in surprise. This time, you did blush an intriguing shade of dark red. Did you hear him right? George Harrison asked you to meditate with him?
"I-I'd be happy to," you stammered. You mentally slapped yourself. Oh sure. Just stutter some more. That's attractive.
You and George were now seated on the carpet. You watched as he closed his eyes, the colour of mysterious dark brown now hiding behind his eyelids. You followed suit, your eyes sliding closed. You breathed in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly and steadily, relaxing your muscles and draining all thought.
Suddenly, you heard an exasperated sigh. You opened your eyes to see George, an exhausted and aggravated look painted on his features.
"Are you alright?" you asked worriedly.
There was pain in George's eyes. Deep within them, you could see the hurt and heartbreak he was feeling.
"I wish I was," he said solemnly. "I... I miss Pattie."
You pressed your lips into a thin line and nodded, urging him to go on.
"I'm glad that she's happy with Eric," he continued. "But I can't seem to stop thinking about her. That's why I'm here. To try and get my mind off her. She was my first true love after all."
You bit your lower lip. "I understand that it's hard right now," you said quietly. "Divorces are never easy. Of course it'll take time to cope. But you'll soon have closure. All it takes is a little time and patience."
George gazed at you with raised eyebrows. "You're a wise girl," he smiled. "How d'you know so much?"
Blushing, you shrugged your shoulders. "I suppose I'm just smart like that," you replied cheekily.
George chuckled. "Beautiful and smart," he grinned. "I think I'd like to take you out sometime. What d'you say?"
You smiled brightly at him. "I would love to," you responded.
He grabbed ahold of your hand, brought it up to his lips, and gently kissed it with a soft smile. Your face flushed with redness, your heart pounding heavily against your chest.
From there, a new relationship arose between you and George. He had forgotten about his feelings towards Pattie. And you had found true love.
And it all happened within the temple.
