If I Fell
John Imagine:
You screamed loudly along with the thousands of fans beside you as the Beatles dashed across the stage to their positions. They waved and winked at the girls, smiling widely at their adoring audience.
Your boyfriend, John, spotted you in the front. A large grin curled upon his lips, his eyes swimming in admiration and love for you. You waved at him and blew him a kiss. He pulled a silly face at you, plucking at the strings of his guitar while Paul sang I Saw Her Standing There.
The concert went by in a breeze, and before you knew it, John was announcing that they were on their last number.
"Sorry folks!" he said as the crowd whimpered. "But we had a good run, didn't we?" In response to this, the audience cheered. "Now this last one, I'm ecstatic to say, is dedicated to the love of my life, Y/N L/N!"
You gasped as the audience cheered behind you. John glanced at you with a smile. He bent down at the edge of the stage and extended his hand to you.
"Come on, babe," he cooed. "I want the world to know who you are and how much you mean to me. And I also need them to know how sexy you are, so to do that, they need to see your face."
You giggled softly, a faint blush dusting your cheeks. You took his hand and allowed him to pull you up on the stage. You waved at John's band mates and shyly smiled at the crying crowd.
"Y/N," John said lovingly. "This one's for you."
With a song filled to the brim with passion and a flutter of your hammering heart, you were falling deeper and deeper in love with John. And you wanted to go deeper.
He gazed into your eyes as the lyrics leaked from his lips. He had never known anyone as amazing and beautiful as you. He didn't know such charm and grace existed until he met you. If he could, he would hold you in his arms and allow you to rest your head close to his heart for all eternity.
If I fell in love with you,
Would you promise to be true
And help me understand?
'Cause I've been in love before,
And I found that love was more
Than just holding hands...

"Shush!" you laughed after John had told you a rather inappropriate joke. After the concert, the two of you decided to have a romantic dinner at a quaint little Italian restaurant. "I'm trying to eat!"
"Don't act like you didn't love it," he purred.
You took the lemon slice off the side of your glass of water and chucked it at him. It bounced off his face, startling him.
"Bullseye!" you cheered.
"Okay, I had that coming," John chuckled, wiping the lemon juice off his cheek.
"Johnny," you said, reaching across the table to grab his hand. "You were so amazing tonight. I mean, you always are, but tonight was so special. And that song... it was so wonderful. You really know how to sweep a girl off her feet."
John smiled. "Every love song that I've ever written was for you," he told you softly, squeezing your hand gently yet affectionately. "You're always on my mind, babe. I can never get over the way your eyes sparkle whenever you're excited, or how brightly you smile. And that body? Damn!" You giggled and blushed. "Honestly, Y/N, I don't know where I'd be without you by my side. And I promise I'll always be there for you."
You bit down on your lip, trying to contain the wide smile stretching upon your face.
"You know," you said happily. "I think we should pay the check and go home. I just want to be with you without anybody else around."
"Oh?" John smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Not that, you daft!" you laughed. "It's been a long day. I want to be in your arms."
John pretended to look disappointed, but it quickly contorted into a loving grin. "Sounds lovely, my lovely," he winked.
After he paid the check, the two of you walked back home with your arms linked together. The moon bathed you with its gentle light, the stars blinking down at you gracefully. The wind was soft and cool and the sky was dark like ink. It was such a beautiful night.
Once the two of you reached your home, you entered and headed straight to the living room. You dimmed the lights while John lit up the little fireplace in the corner. You sat next to John on the couch in front of the fire, curling up inside a blanket. He slid his arms around you while yours snaked around his torso. You laid your head against his chest while his fingers ran through your hair.
John hummed a song into your ear, sending a long warmth creeping down your stomach. Your heart danced in adoration. He grinned down at you softly. I'm gonna marry this girl someday, he thought.
"If I fell in love with you," he sang.
