Brave
George Imagine:
You clapped your hands along with the audience as the Beatles dashed on stage and tuned up their instruments. It was another day at the Cavern, also known as another performance by the hottest band group in town.
George spotted you at the front of the audience and grinned. He bent down by the edge of the stage and pecked your lips.
"Hey babe," he said softly.
"Hi," you giggled.
You heard a couple guys wolf whistle behind you. You rolled your eyes and shooed George away, telling him to get ready. He chuckled and went back to his guitar.
You waved to the other boys, particularly Ringo, as he was still new in the band. Recently, he replaced Pete Best, whom people knew as the original drummer of the Beatles. Poor Ringo was having a difficult time adjusting since fans of Pete Best were constantly yelling, "Pete Best forever! Ringo never!" You felt terrible for him.
But today, you were hoping everyone would just sit back and enjoy the music.
Your wishes were not granted.
Before Paul could hit the first note on his bass, a bloke behind you shouted, "We want Pete!" A loud murmur spread across the crowd, and you cringed.
George saw Ringo, crestfallen and offended. George had grown close with Ringo, he hated to see him so upset.
Turning to the man who had yelled, he called back, "Oi! Your opinion is irrelevant, much like your existence in this club! So why don't you shut up?"
The bloke's smirk faded as quickly as it came. The crowd laughed in agreement. The boys on stage whooped and clapped George on the back. Ringo smiled at him gratefully.
You chuckled and started dancing as the boys started their first number, Long Tall Sally. As Paul sang into the microphone and George worked his wicked guitar riff, you spotted the boy who had yelled, looking irritable and angry. You shook your head.
You met George by the bar once the show ended. You leaned in and kissed him, smiling.
"You were amazing up there," you cooed. "You were so sweet, standing up for Ringo."
George meekly shrugged his shoulders. "The man needed a break. He's been through enough already. Besides, he replaced Pete for a reason. He just happens to play better, and he's a really good guy."
After a drink, you and George were about to leave. But somebody blocked your way right by the exit. You recognized him as the bastard who rudely shouted.
"What do you want?" George sighed, his arm around your shoulder.
"You the kid who told me to shut up?" the boy demanded.
You nervously glanced between him and George. "Let's not start anything," you said quietly.
"This doesn't concern you, little birdie," the boy snapped at you.
"Hey!" George said warningly. "Don't ever talk to her like that. This is between you and me."
"So you are the kid?"
"Yeah, I am. So what?"
The boy didn't respond to George with words. Instead, he responded with a strong fist in his face. You gasped as George stumbled. You saw him getting up to fight back, but John quickly raced over and held him back while Paul held the other boy.
"Enough!" Paul shouted.
"Easy, Harrison, easy," John hissed.
"Next time, you watch your tongue, kid!" the boy yelled.
"Next time, don't insult my friends or my girlfriend!" George shot back.
It took about ten minutes to calm things down.

George winced as you held an ice pack by his eye. A dark bruise started to form around his eye and it was starting to swell. You immediately tended to him as soon as you got home from the Cavern.
"That looks painful," you said sympathetically.
George shrugged. "Not as bad as it looks."
"Well, I'm glad you're okay," you smiled.
"Right," he sighed, leaning back on the sofa. "You must think I'm mad."
"No I don't," you shook your head. "Actually, on the contrary, I think you're really brave. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to people. That asshole was asking for it."
"Suppose he was," he chuckled, a tint of red dusting his cheeks.
You brushed his hair out of his face and kissed him. He kissed back, his hand tangled through your hair.
"I love you," he said softly.
"I love you too," you giggled.
