Adopted Sister
John Imagine:
"This party's gear, Rings," George commented as he took a bite of a crisp.
"Cheers, mate," Ringo smiled.
John sipped his crimson wine as he absorbed his surroundings. It was the Starkey family reunion and Ringo has decided to hold a wee party in his home to celebrate. Much of his relatives and his parents were chattering about, enjoying the food and drinks and each other's company.
"Just met your mum," Paul said as he approached his band mates. "She's nice. She offered to comb my hair."
"That's Mum," Ringo chuckled.
"Did she comb your hair?" George questioned.
"Well... yes. Can't you tell?" Paul frowned.
"Macca, your hair never needs combing," John snorted. "Nobody can tell, Paulie Perfect Hair."
"Shove up," Paul rolled his eyes.
"Oi! Aunt Muriel!" Ringo called hastily.
A crash was heard, followed with a guilty, "Oops."
"Damn it," Ringo sighed. "Be right back. Aunt Muriel! I told you to be careful around that vase!"
As he left to tend to his broken vase thanks to his aunt, John scanned the room through his almond eyes. He glued his gaze on a pretty girl standing by the snacks table, her H/C hair curtaining her cheeks. John grinned.
"Hey, look at the little bird over there," John told Paul and George, nodding towards the girl.
"I like what I'm seeing," Paul said with a smile.
"Who do you think she is?" George wondered.
"Beats me," John shrugged. "And eyes away, Macca. I saw her first."
Paul sighed. John chuckled as he headed towards the girl, who started to pour herself a glass of wine. She glanced up when she noticed John approaching her and smiled.
"Hello," she greeted kindly.
"I've got to hand it to you, love, you're one of the few birds that managed to get me away from my mates without even saying anything," John teased.
The girl laughed silently. "Should I be sorry?"
"Not at all," he chuckled. "I'm John." He tipped an imaginary hat at her with a wink.
"Y/N," she giggled.
"My my, what a fabulous name!" John cried dramatically.
"Thank you!" Y/N chortled. "And John is a lovely name as well."
"Well, it's no Y/N," he grinned. Y/N blushed. She looked absolutely adorable as the redness coated her cheeks. "I've really got to say this, Y/N my dear, you have the most wonderful eyes. Would you mind if I got lost in them?"
"Cheesy," Y/N said as her cheeks burned redder. "That's very smooth, John."
"I have my ways," John mused.
Before she could respond, Ringo appeared by her side. He arched an eyebrow at John, suspicion glittering in his ocean eyes, as he slid an arm around Y/N's shoulders.
"What're you doing, Lennon?" he asked dubiously.
John stared at Ringo's arm around Y/N's shoulders with wide eyes.
"Good God, man, I'm sorry!" he said quickly. "I had no idea! I wouldn't have done anything here if I knew, I swear."
Ringo blinked. "What do you mean?" he asked, puzzled.
"Mate, if I'd known she was your girl, I wouldn't have come here. I'm sorry, lad."
Ringo scrunched up his nose as Y/N burst into fits of laughter. John stared in confusion. Why was this so funny?
"You think I'm his... Oh dear!" Y/N laughed.
"Huh?"
"John, she's not my girlfriend!" Ringo exclaimed, seemingly horrified at the thought.
"She's not?" John asked.
"No, you daft, she's my little sister!"
John raised his eyebrows in surprise. He glanced between Ringo and Y/N curiously.
"You... don't look anything alike," he commented.
"I'm adopted," Y/N chuckled. "Goodness, you really thought?"
"I really did!" John snorted, shaking his head at himself.
"Now don't get me wrong, John," Ringo said warningly. "I don't want you doing anything funny, you hear?" Y/N rolled her eyes.
"But I wanted to ask her out," John whined.
"Well, that's too-"
"I'd love to go out with you," Y/N said, cutting Ringo off.
"Y/N!" Ringo said loudly.
"Hey, I'm an adult, I can make my own decisions."
Ringo granted John a deadpanned expression. John sheepishly smiled.
"Sorry, son," he meekly shrugged. "But you see, it'd be unwise of me to not ask out such a beautiful little lady."
"Alright, alright," Ringo sighed as Y/N's cheeks dusted with pink. "But if you hurt her, Lennon, so help you God..."
"Please, Rings, I'd never hurt your wee sister."
John and Y/N exchanged cute smiles.
