Amanda noticed a group of Fleischer's approaching their camp as they ate a late lunch. She scowled. Connor's glanced in their direction and then went to meet them, Aaron at one side and Arthur at the other, in that instinctive way they had.

Amanda followed. They gathered, a crowd of Fleischers in the lane and an equal crowd of Leidulf's at the edge of their camp.

Koby Fleischer stepped forward. Physically he had recovered from his fight with Arthur. But he glanced at Arthur, Aaron and Connor and even Amanda could see a hesitation in his eyes.

"We've come to talk about what your wolf did," he said, his voice hiding any uncertainty his eyes showed.

"What about it?" Connor demanded. "She challenged. He accepted. He lost. It's done."

"He's the enforcer," Koby said. "He's immune to challenge. She was out of line."

"Bullshit," Amanda said. "He accepted the challenge. Now you tell us he's 'immune to challenge?' You can't change the rules after the fact."

"That's not true," one the Fleischers snarled. "It's our ways. She disrespected that."

"My mate is correct, though," Connor said. "No one breathed a word about this custom before the fight. Now you want to throw it in our face?"

"It was an improper challenge," Koby insisted. "And we demand recompense for this insult."

"Bullshit," Jonathan said. "The enforcer isn't immune to challenge. In fact, that's how the enforcer is chosen. So by your own custom, Erica is now the Fleischer enforcer."

"Never!" a voice hissed. "We would never accept such a thing."

"Good," Connor said. "Because she wouldn't want the position anyway. This was over one thing, and she got it. Let it be done."

"No," Koby barked back. "We can't accept this insult."

"What do you expect to gain from this?" Arthur put in. "Speak clear and let's get this out in the open."

"We've declared a hunt on her," Koby replied.

"Fuck that," Amanda said, pushing forward and coming nose to nose with him. "If you want her, you are going to have to come through me first."

"And all of us," Brianna said, appearing at Amanda's side. "And you've seen how those fights have gone so far."

Koby looked at the two women in front of him. "We have no intention of breaking Fenrir's peace," he snapped. "Unlike some here. We've declared our hunt. It stands. She's safe enough here. But if she's caught in neutral lands, on any lands other than your own, she's fair game. And we will have our vengeance. Mark my words." He turned and stomped off, his crowd in tow.
