Charlie's pov

I stepped out with the full intent to apologise a hundred times to really let him know how bad I felt when something else caught my eye.

It was dad sitting on alastor knee, his head resting against his chest.

"Eep!" I let out a surprise squeak before quickly pulling vaggie back out of sight.

"Did you hear something al?" Dad looked around cautiously.

"Nothing but the crashing waves my dear" he reached out and stroked his hair with a tenderness I've never seen from alastor.

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing" I whispered to vaggie.

"Yeah. I didn't know alastor was capable of that kind of affection" vaggie muttered "you ok?" She gave me a concerned look.

I thought about it for a moment. It's true that deep down I always hoped my parents would get back together but dad and al look so happy together. I can't possibly be upset about that.

I stepped outside "dad"

"Charlie!" Dad jumped out of alastors lap "it's not what it looks like-"

"It's ok dad" I cut him off gently "I'm happy for you both"

"You are?" I nodded. He teared up and hugged me "oh thank god. I've been wanting to tell you for so long!"

"How did this happen though" vaggie asked "I swore you two hated each other"

"Well we did at first but over time we started meeting up, mostly to throw insults at each other and fight but in-between all that something new blossomed" he took alastors hand with a loving smile.

"Well I'm happy for you dad. Welcome to the family al" I pulled him into a hug "but if you ever break his heart I'll show you the true meaning of fear"

"Understood princess" he smiled, slightly shaken up by my sudden shift in personality. I giggled to myself.

Sorry al but when it comes to the people I love I'll become the baddest bitch you know!
