Chapter 18 - The Commander
-I'm so sorry if this chapter is horribly written. I was writing in a writers block and was kind of in a rush to write the chapter. I wanted to separate it into two parts, but it seemed like a bad idea. It might be cringy (dang it I think is cringy) and forced. The plot is simple and not really thrilling. I just wanted to write to complete it since I started it. I thought I'd forget my ideas if I were to write tomorrow. I apologize once again. -
Reetha looked at the tiny figures that remained on the hangar until they turned to nothing but colorful blobs from a distance. Noticing her distracted mind, Plo laid a hand on her right shoulder. "You are brave to face this change, young one. They would be very proud of you."
The young girl smiled softly. "I did take some time to warm up to them. I just hope I'd be able to warm up to your troops as fast as I did here." Plo hummed "The Wolf Pack are... slightly rough around the edges, but you will get to them eventually."
'Eventually?' Reetha found herself questioning about how soon or long is eventually. She had a month with them. Plo Koon seemed to notice her sudden glum mood and worry.
"Not to worry, Reetha. I've informed my troops about your arrival. I can promise you that they are already to accept another wolf into the pack." "Wh-wolf? You mean they know, about.." Reetha choked on her words. "About your abilities? Not yet, but hopefully soon. They are aware of a new member in their pack." Reetha widened her eyes and mouthed a 'Ohh' before smiling shyly with a toothy grin. "Well, in that case, I shall not fail to deliver."
Plo smiled underneath his mask as Reetha straightened out ant wrinkles on her robe. A few seconds later, the transport finally made its landing on Plo Koon's flagship, Triumphant.
"General on deck! Attention!" A stern voice greeted the two jedi as they walked over to the clones. "At ease, everyone." Reetha noticed how differently Plo spoke to the clones. It was not like the other jedi, that is, other than Anakin, who spoke to the troops in such a tender manner. She only wondered how Obi-Wan talked to his troops.
"As you know, we have a new comer with us and she will be staying for a while under my mentor ship." Plo began, taking a step closer to Wolffe and the troopers. 'Wow, straight to the point.' Reetha thought in her mind.
"I would like to introduce you to Padawan Reetha Khan, from the 501st." Plo gestured a hand to Reetha, as if passing the stage to her. 'Oh krif! Oh krif!' She internally panicked, however she collected her nerves. "H-Hello." Reetha gritted at her teeth as she gave a very shy and almost unnoticeable wave.
'Oh krif, okay calm down, just keep talking.' Sweat started to bead on her forehead but she didn't let herself stop. " I am Reetha... Reetha K-Khan." She gulped. Her eyes swung back and forth from Master Plo, to the clones, to the commander, and back to Plo. She opened her mouth to speak, but when nothing came out, she just smiled, very, very, uncomfortably.
"Nice to meet you commander." I'm Comet." A clone from the group walked forward and extended his hand. "I'm Comet." Thankfully, her muscles decided to obey her and she shook his hand. "Reetha Kh- I mean, you know that, I, uhm- Thank you good to meet you too." Reetha squinted her eyes, embarrassed by her stuttering.
Comet seemed to pick up on this so he spoke up. "Can't wait to work by your side commander. Word is from the 501st guys that your quite the fighter."
Reetha felt a blush rise to her face that the 501st spoke of her. "Well then, I guess I'll leave the introductions to you Comet." Plo walked to the two. Comet nodded and smiled. " I will be on the bridge to prepare for our mission. I will see you later, young Reetha."
---
The clones had brought Reetha to the mess to introduce her to some of the crew. Comet, was the friendliest of all. He introduced Reetha to Sinker and Boost, several other 104th battalion crews and mechanics, but not their commander.
To her opinion, she made good progress, being more open to getting to know new people. She owed it all to Rex and the boys, mentally noting herself to thank them later.
"Thank you all for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it." Reetha now sat with several clones, Comet at her side. "Ah no problem commander. It's out pleasure. At least Comet wouldn't be the pup of the pack anymore." Boost joked. Comet simply rolled his eyes. "Well according to Jesse, you're supposed to be a shy one." Sinker joined the talk.
Reetha hummed "I was, and still am, a little, but I have the 501st to thank for that. They gave me time to adjust, and I guess I allowed myself to open my boundaries." The clone nodded thoughtfully. He was about to speak when a thud called to their attention.
At the end of the table, a stern looking clone eyed the clones and the padawan. "The general requires your presence at the bridge, commander." However, before anyone could make a move, Sinker decided on introducing the new commander, to the commander. "And, this grump here, is non other than Commander Wolffe." He slinked an arm over Wolffe, causing the stern faced man to reply in an eye roll.
"As I said, Commander Khan, your presence is required at the bridge. We need to discuss about the new mission we've been assigned to." Then he pushed Sinker's hand away and made his way out of the mess, followed by Sinker and Boost and the other clones retreated to their stations.
Reetha was slightly intimidated by Wolffe's demeanor. When the commander came in, she was more than prepared to introduce herself. "Commander, you alright?" Comet called softly from her side and she snapped from a daze. "What? Oh yes. Yeah I'm fine. Not to worry." Reetha briskly stood up, only to have Comet hold her hand, pulling her to a slower pace. "Wolffe came in a little stern didn't he." the clone chuckled.
Reetha didn't need to say anything because her expression said it all. "Ah well, don't worry about it. Wolffe is not the easiest to warm up to, but he'll come around." Reetha mastered a grateful smile to Comet. "To be honest, I was actually prepared to introduce myself earlier. But, I guess duty calls, or whatever." She said defeatedly.
Comet picked up on her tone and attempted to cheer her up. "No worries, if Wolffe gets to you, don't hesitate to complain to Boost or Sinker. The first time I joined the 104th was not pleasant either. Wolffe was so cold, he put Hoth to shame." He dramatically sighed causing Reetha to laugh. "Just let any of us know. We'll have much pleasure straitening him out for you."
---
Reetha's arrival on the bridge was greeted by saluted of the troopers. She nodded to them and made and her way to Master Plo who began the briefings, taking her place opposite Commander Wolffe. "We will divide into two teams. Reetha, you and Wolffe will take your team through the route by valley. I will lead the rest of the pack on the ridge. We will launch the attack on fort together." Reetha nodded and made brief eye contact with Wolffe.
"Master, if I may speak?" Plo nodded. "I realize that this planet has thick vegetation and has a mountainous landscape. Would this interfere with any transmissions?"
"Good observation Reetha. However, because of the landscape, we would not be able to communicate with either team until we manage to reach the fort. If we begin at the break of dawn, we will be able to reach the fort by nightfall." Reetha nodded but another question surfaced.
"What about the local fauna. I know for a fact that the locals on Racar (made up planet) still lead a primitive live, and that the half of the flora there are harmful to off worlders."
This time, Wolffe spoke. "We have created a plan for that. The route we take goes through the valley, what the locals call The Racar Ghost Lands. Due to superstitious beliefs, the locals avoid hunting or even goin near the area, meaning that we would not be meeting any locals along the way. As for the fauna, most of them are rodents. The predators were hunted to near extinction at this side of the planet. We would not run into them either."
Reetha hummed, taking in the information. "But what about the ridge?" She asked Wolffe, looking at him as she did. "The Racarans dwell on the flat lands. Their bodies aren't built to climb, so no encounter there either."
The meeting was dismissed a few minutes later and then they were on their way to Racar. Upon arrival on the planet, Reetha noticed the absence of space ports, meaning that the population had not advanced to space travel, which would explain their primitiveness.
The team boarded the LAAT's to descend to the planets surface. Reetha bid farewell to Master Plo before joinining her troops in their LAAT. The ride to the surface was quiet excepts for a few whispers between troopers. Wolffe stood beside her, his aura, cold and stern made Reetha shudder. "I look forward to work with you, commander. Word is your exceptional on the battle field. Your reputation proceeds you."
Wolffe looked down to the girl next to him. "Thank you, er, commander." he replied. An awkwardness hung between them that Reetha wished to clear but she kept quiet instead. She knew that the 104th were exceptional troopers, and have gained the respect notable jedi and other battalions and troops. She made up her mind then and there to work for her respect as well, not wanting her troops to respect her just because of her rank as a commander.
---
Reetha had been leading her troops through the valley for about 3 hours now. Aside from Wolffe, the only other clone she was acquainted with was Comet. A few more minutes later, Reetha brought her company to a halt, allowing her men to rest up. They had covered quite a good amount of ground, but she did not want to push her troops any further. "Rest up. We will move in an hour."
The boys set their things down while Retha marched a little way ahead to check on their trail. " The men have settled down, Commander. I will take watch from here." Reetha turned to Wolffe's voice and shook her head. "Thank you commander, but there is no need to keep watch. I've made sure our surroundings are secure."
Wolffe didn't move nor did her reply, she could sense his doubts in her work. Not that she'd blame him, this was her first time on her own and she is not experienced as Wolffe or Plo. "Don't worry commander. I can assure you that your men will be safe." Reetha gestured to the guys. Wolffe hesitated slightly before nodding to Reetha and joining his men by the fire.
"So, the new commander is quite confident in her work." Comet spoke in a hushed tone to the commander beside him. "She's confident now, but in the heat of battle?" Wolffe took of his helmet and set it at his side.
"Wolffe, she's a jedi. What could go wrong?"
"I know she's a jedi, but she's also a kid. There are things adults can do that a kid can't. Plus, we have been fine on our own without needing another jedi to help us."
Comet squinted his eyes and nudged his brother's hand. "You say that like we aren't kids ourselves." chuckling slightly, as a frown made its way to Wolffe's face.
"And according to the 501st, Commander Khan is quite capable of handling the heat. We just got to trust her." Wolffe looked back at Comet, huffing in annoyance. "You might trust her Comet, but I have yet to see if she can handle herself in battle. She is inexperienced and has much to learn. As much as she's my commander and outranks me, she has to prove herself and gain my trust."
Comet only looked into the fire, taking in what the commander told him. "Well, you do you, commander." The two guys sat in the quiet with their other brothers until some rustling in the bushes ahead caught their attention.
They trained their hand on their guns but immediately stopped when Reetha popped out from the bushes. "I got us some food." She smiled widely and pointed to some berries she had picked.
"Commander, with all due respect, we don't need-" Comet punched Wolffe in the arm. "That looks great commander. But, are those edible?" The other clones looked back the the girl. "Mhmm." Reetha hummed in approval and even took a few berries into her mouth. "See, edible. I read about flora of the planets I visit. You, know, incase I get lost and need to survive of the ground. These are Mocho Berries."
The clones beside her nodded in approval as they passed around the berries she picked.
"Excuse me, but I'm not hungry." Wolffe left the circle. Reetha noticed this but decided to pay not attention, though her face showed a hint of disappointment. "Hey, commander. Over here." Comet called Reetha.
"Hey Comet. The berries good?" She asked, taking a seat beside him. He nodded a yes taking several berries in his mouth and savoring its sweet and sour taste. Reetha kept quiet by his side and Comet took notice of how she glanced to where Wolffe stalked off to. "Do forgive Wolffe. He is grumpy even on his happiest days." Comet attempted to cheer her up.
"He doesn't trust me yet, does he?" Reetha asked glumly. Comet feel his chest swell for her and wanted to make his commander feel better. "Wolffe, has his issues when is comes to trust. Some long tale, but to cut it short, his trust is hard to gain. Even when it comes down to his own men."
Reetha looked to Comet, absorbing what he told her. "Not that he doesn't respect you, but-" "Its alright, Comet. I get it. I truly do." she cut him off gently. "I was just like that when I first entered the 501st. Even with Ahsoka and Master Skywalker. I understand where Wolffe is coming from."
Comet offered Reetha a smile, partially happy that she didn't take Wolffe's action to hard. "Well, I'm glad you managed to find comfort with the 501st. Just, do your best and don't worry to much about Wolffe." Then Comet leaned down closer to Reetha. "Between you and me, he is already warming up to you. He just doesn't want to show it. Eh, he's gone soft." Comet joked, successfully making Reetha chuckle.
---
The jungle planet was bathed in a dark blue hue as night fell. Reetha had her company at the rendezvous point.
"Master Plo should be at the opposite end of the fort now. We need him to attack first then, we will attack from behind." She turned sideways to inform Wolffe.
"Commander, I think we may want to rethink our approach of attack." Wolffe handed Reetha his scopes. It seems that the droids had not only chosen a secretive fort, but their fort was surrounded by Vixus.
Reetha cursed inwards. "Commander, we can't launch an immediate attack to the fort. It would be a meat grinder with the Vixus pick us of one by one." Wolffe forwarded his concerns.
Reetha retreated from her perch signaling for Wolffe to follow her. "The Vixus sense vibrations on the ground. Their tentacles are basically their appendages. Get caught in it, and we're done for."
"Any idea how we are going to avoid marching to our deaths?" Comet asked.
Reetha thought for a while before coming up with an idea, but she was not sure the boys would agree.
"Going around this thing would mean that we miss the attack. We need to walk through it, and I have an idea, but.."
Comet echoed Reetha curiously then she turned to Wolffe. "I don't think your going to like it." Wolffe kept silent before asking her to lay out her idea.
"We will cross the Vixus, but only I will be walking across the ground." Wolffe was about to interject but Reetha raised her hand to stop him. "I can carry you and your men across the Vixus with the Force. We wouldn't cause any vibrations and your me would not be in any danger."
Wolffe scoffed "I don't think that is the best plan, commander. With all due respect, you would be walking on the ground. Wouldn't that just alert the Vixus as well?" Comet and the others shared worried glances. "Commander, with all due respect, are you sure this plan could work? What if you can't hold us long enough to cross the Vixus?" Comet asked.
"I know this plan seems ridiculous, but I have no better idea so far." Reetha walked closer to her troops and addressed them, trying to be confident doing so. "Look, I know I'm new here, and I'm not going to say that I outrank any of you, because I don't. But all I ask is that you trust me with this plan. I know my limits in the Force, and I know what I can do and cannot do." Then she turned to Wolffe, her commander.
"Commander, I'm asking you to trust me on this. I can promise you that I can ensure the safety of your men and yourself, across the Vixus." Reetha spoke more to Wolffe in a soft tone. It took Wolffe about a good whole minute, but he finally nodded, agreeing to Reetha's plan.
"Alright, keep your guns at the ready, as soon as we pass the Vixus, I will release you and you may start the attack." The troopers nodded. Reetha walked in front of her men to stand beside Wolffe. "You're ready?" She huffed. Wolffe glanced at her and nodded.
"Stay in front of me. When your lifted off the ground stay as calm and as quiet as possible." She informed the troops. As they got in line, Reetha closed her eyes and connected herself to the Force.
Silence was her friend, peace was her life. She released a breath and extended both her arms to the troops. They turned to look at her, as if watching her would calm their nerves.
She let out a breath, can channeled the Force through her body. A sudden wave of energy flowed in her veins, amplifying her senses. She could hear every droplet of water hitting the ground, every rustle of a leaf, every tune of a cricket. She closed her eyes and straightened her back and flexed her fingers.
Slowly but surely, she could feel the weight of the troopers in front of her suspended in the air, floating safely above the ground, well over the reaches of the Vixus. Reetha kept her hold on the troopers and opened her eyes.
Her company of clones were more than shocked to see themselves suspended in air, but then again, this was a Jedi that they were dealing with. Reetha shared a glance to her troops, and then her eyes landed on Wolffe's visor. He nodded to her and she started walking across the field.
The Vixus layed still on the outside, their tentacle like appendages thrown about on the ground. Every step Reetha took was calculated. Her eyes scanned the field back and forth, making sure not to accidently step on Vixus tentacles.
She focused her mind on the vibrations emitted by the Vixus. Such stealthy predators these creatures are. Reetha could sense the vibration of a Vixus coming off them and bouncing of her like sonar.
It was like a mine field. Reetha continued to walk on, placing both hands in front of her to hold her troops steady. The darkness of the planet did not help her sight and she found herself nearly walking to close to a large Vixus. Stopping just millimeters away from the creature in shock and her hands trembled, but quickly regained her focus in the Force to hold her troops safely.
The Vixus growled lowley as it began to move one of its tentacles. Reetha was forced to quickly side step from the tentacle before it touched her boot. Just one touch from the Vixus would ring the dinner bell for the creatures. She managed to out maneuver the tentacle when a sudden explosion rang in front of them.

Timing, 3:45
"Oh krifin-" Reetha winced as the tremor from the explosion shook the ground beneath her feet. Slowly, the Vixus around her bellowed their growls, upset to be rudely awoken from their slumber. Their tentacles began to rise and Reetha knew they were in danger.
"Hang on!" She screamed before Force pushing her clones towards the fort. She watched as the clones landed on the muddy ground, clear from the Vixus, but she was still trapped. The growls grew louder by the second and before a tentacle could get a hold of her she ran for her life. The tentacles flew back and forth, whipping around to grab whole on anything dumb enough to venture near the Vixus.
Unfortunately, one tentacle wrapped around her ankle and swung her in the air. Reetha let out a startled cry drawing the attention of the clones. "Blast them!" Wolffe instructed. Reaching out for her lightsaber, Reetha deflected the incoming shots to the Vixus around her. She swung her lightsaber to the tentacle around her feet and cut herself off. The Vixus shrieked in pain as she fell to the ground, landing on her feet.
"Commander, this way hurry!" Wolffe called out. The troopers had begun shooting the Vixus closer to them providing Reetha a way out. The Vixus however were more agitated having their meal slip from their grasp. Reetha was now closer to the fort, just a little more and she's out of the Vixus reach, but another tentacle found its way to her body, this time wrapping itself around her waist.
Reetha's lightsaber fell and she was defense less. The creatures tongue began to come out and its beak like top began to snap at her as she was lowered down to the Vixus mouth. Just before the tongue could get her, Reetha's body morphed into her wolf form, tearing the creatures tentacles as her body tripled in size.
She angled her mouth to the tentacle, K9 teeth sinking into the Vixus flesh. It screamed and retracted it tongue. The pain from her bite made the Vixus fling her away from itself.
Reetha landed on her hind legs and began running to the troops. She dodged a few other furious tentacles. Her claws dug into the ground, giving her a firm grip and she jumped over a Vixus mouth landing right in front of her men, immediately morphing back into human and picked up her saber.
She stood up and turned to the Vixus field, still going crazy and dragged in ragged breaths, tired from both holding her troops in the Force and morphing. "C-commander?" She winced and turned to her troops who stood dumb founded by what they just witnesses.
"I got a lot to explain later. Right now, let's take this fort."
---
The attack carried out as planned. The 104th have successfully taken the fort. Master Plo and Reetha gathered in the main control room, where they took out the remaining droids. "I see your attack was a success, Reetha. You have my congrats." Plo Koon said as he stabbed one remaining droid in its chest.
"Thank you master. It wasn't all me. My troops were exceptional." She turned to gesture at her men. She was not just proud for being able to aid her master in battle and win it, but she was happy to see that not one of her company suffered any casualties.
"The fort is secure gen'ral." Wolffe walked into the room, saluting Plo Koon. "Thank you Wolffe. It good to see you in one peace. I take it Reetha was handling herself well out there?"
Wolffe tensed at the question and Reetha knew why. "She was... doing well, sir. Could not have done it without her. Commander." He saluted the both of them before leaving the Master and Padawan alone.
Plo turned to Reetha and placed a hand on her shoulder. "We should clean this mess and collect any valueble information from this fort. Come now Reetha, there is much work to be done." Before Plo could turn around, Reetha called out to him. "Uhm, master. There is something we need to discuss before that." She spoke timidly.
The Jedi stood next to her as Reetha told him about the Vixus and how she had to Force morph to get out of the Vixus hold. "I don't think the men where mentally prepared to see that." She shuffled on her feet, looking down with a scared look on her face.
Plo Koon hummed before placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure when we talk to them, they would understand. But for now, we have to complete the mission. We will discuss in on the ship."
"M-master?" Reetha stuttered. "Did I do wrong?" Plo sensed her worry. She was afraid of how the clones would look at her after showing what she is.
"Reetha, you did all you could to save them. They will not be afraid of you. Curious, yes, but never afraid. We will talk about you morphing with the clones together. To help them understand you."
With Plo's comforting words, they got around to complete the mission.
---
Back on the flagship, Reetha found herself standing in the middle of the bridge, surrounded by Plo's troops, and the troops that accompanied her to Racar. They, especially had their eyes glued to her form, standing behind. Reetha was to scared to turn and look at them.
In fact, the ride back to the ship was so uncomfortable. After exposing her morphing abilities to the troops without warning, it seemed like a wall was put up between them, where she could not bring herself to explain herself. She could tell that Wolffe himself was on edge after seeing that, for he and Reetha could not bring each other to meet eye to eye.
"First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you for a successful mission. I also want to congratulate Reetha for successfully getting her troops through the fort, without casualties." Cheers and applauds erupted from the men, but the troops from her company were stiff. She could not tell if they were amazed from what happened, or shocked and scared.
"I would also like to address an important matter today. I am afraid I should have done it earlier, but this would be the best time." As Plo addressed the men, Reetha could feel her company tense through the Force. "As you know, Reetha has been put under my mentorship for the month. She is a Jedi, but not a... traditional one."
Several quiet hums broke between the men. Their curiosity only peaked. "Reetha is a Force user of a very rare ability. It is called force morphing."
Reetha only cringed more as Plo began to explain her ability. He was being quite straight forward. The clones around her had confusion written all over their faces, not that she blamed them, the Force is a complicated thing.
"I know that is this hard to understand, so perhaps a demonstration could clear the confusion." Plo turned to Reetha and the clones gave her their undivided attention. Reetha opened her mouth to decline, but Plo nodded to encourage her.
She shuffled on her feet knowing there was no turning back from here. Before morphing again, she sparred a quick glance over her shoulders to her company. She let out a breath and surrendered to the force. No turning back now.
Her breath slowed as the Force began to rush in her veins, slowly exchanging her brown skin, for white fur. Her hands morphed into that of a canines. Semi-retracted claws for nails and black like armored scales covering the thin skin of her ears, and running down along her spine. She opened her eyes to greet the clones with her golden eyes.
As usual, the room was filled with a collection of awes as they witnessed the miracle in front of them. Then, for a moment, it was dead silent only for Master Plo to announce to the clones. "May I present to you, Padawan Reetha Khan."
Reetha felt the clones hold a breath as they tried to process what they saw. She however had other ideas. She turned to the clones behind her, those from her company. They took a step back as they saw her walking towards them. Plo reassured them not to worry, so the clones tried their best to remain calm.
Reetha stopped a few paces away from the troops who looked her up and down, starring at her form. In front of her, the commander of the 104th, Wolffe. He was standing right at the front, as if he wanted to challenge Reetha head on in some kind of battle.
"Do not worry, Wolffe. She is aware of who you are. She is changed but still remains the same in every other way." 'Wow, way to make it more clear, Master Plo.' Reetha sarcastically thought to herself. Upon hearing Plo's words, the clone commander took cautious steps to the white loth wolf before him.
"Your, your still Commander Khan?" He asked. Reetha looked into his eyes and slowly closed them. 'Yes'. Wolffe's tense shoulders loosened up a little. Some of his brothers coming up to step beside him.
Wolffe slowly reached for his helmet and slipped it of, before placing in on the bridge floor. He locked eyes with Reetha, searching for any sign of hostility. When he found none, he calmed down even more. One of the bridge officers approached Reetha, extending his hand to her.
Reetha noticed this and slowly turned her head to face him. He backed of a little but held his ground as she lowered her head to softly meet his hand. At the contact, he let out a breath of anticipation that he held in and chuckled in shock and he began to easy his hand in the middle of her head. Another hand came up, a trooper, as he slowly began to touch and pet the fur on Reetha's left shoulder. Both clones looked at each other in awe then back to Reetha.
Reetha returned her attention to Wolffe, who was watching the scene unfold. When she noticed that he had finally calmed down, she stood on all fours and morphed back into human form.
The clones murmured softly among themselves. Reetha stood with her head hanging low, not daring to look Wolffe in the eye. She collected herself and turned to face the commander.
"Commander." She greeted.
"...Commander." Wolffe replied.
It was a little awkward just standing there, but what happened next surprised her. Wolffe stomped his foot hard on the floor, drawing her attention. When she looked at him, he had his back straight and saluted his commander. "Thank you, for keeping my men safe."
Reetha nearly choked on her saliva. Her eyes widened. 'Commander Wolffe thanked me. Oh Krif, oh krif, don't panic.'
The other clones then followed suit, each saluting her and smiling as they did. She was truly dumb founded. She turned around to see the rest of the clones saluting her. Her eyes landed on Plo. Although his mask covered the majority of his face, she could see the evidence of a smile on his face. It reassured her and calmed her at once.
The slowly turned to Wolffe. He was still saluting her. She thought for a moment then finally a smile came to her face.
Reetha brought her hand her forehead, and saluted Wolffe. Smiling with pride and gratitude. "Thank you. Commander."
Wolffe had not been expecting her reply. Seeing the young girl in front of him, smiling happily and confidently only brought a smile to his face as well. He closed his eyes and chuckled.
"I'm glad to serve by your side any time, Commander Khan." He gave her smirk as he put his hand down.
Reetha's grin only grew wider. "As am I. Commander. And please, call me Reetha."
Wolffe nodded. "And I, Wolffe." He said, feeling a new found respect for the Jedi before him.
When the two had finally come to term, the clones cheered and clapped, celebrating the happy and heartfelt moment. "To Reetha!" they cheered.
The clones welcomed their new commander with open arms, adding yet another member into the family. Plo Koon stood from the side watching Reetha and the clones finally got to exchange pleasantries and make acquaintances. Hope was looking up for Reetha after all.
