I developed this one recently as well, a couple of weeks ago.

The bell goes.

"Finally..." I breath to Alex. Alex is my friend, she has long ginger hair and bright green eyes.
I gather things from my desk and walk out with her.

"What are you doing after school?" She asks.
"Eh, nothing." I reply.
"You could come to my house," she suggests. "I'm going to explore the woods!"
"Cool!" I say "I'll ring my mum to let her know."

I dial my mother's number and waits until she picks up.
"Hello Beatrice!" My mum says "what's up?"
"Alex has offered for me to come to her house," I tell her. "Can I go?"
"Of course Hun!" She says to my delight "don't come back to late!"
"I won't mum," I promise "thanks!" I say, then I hang up.

* * *

Alex and I walk around the wood quietly, trying not to scare away the animals.
I've always loved the woods, they calm me. The smell of the rain, the sweet scent of the woodland flowers are all so calming.
Suddenly I hear a huge; CRACK and I spin around.
Behind Alex and I is a huge scaly beast.

"Dragon..." I gasp "I thought they were all wiped out..."

Even thought in fairy tales they're supposed to be viscous beasts that eat humans, I'm not scared. In fact I feel lucky to be seeing such a wonderful thing.
I feel Alex stiffen beside me. I put a protective arm around her

"It's okay." I whisper to her. "It's okay..."
I let go of Alex and walk toward the beast- the dragon.

"Hello," I say. "My name is Beatrice, I don't want to hurt you. Do you have a name?"
"Eric," the dragon- Eric -rumbles. "My name is Eric."

* * *

We talk with Eric until it begins to get dark.
"Would you like a lift home?" He asks in that booming voice of his
"That would be wonderful!" Alex and I say in unison.
Eric opens his wings and we clamber onto his back.
"Hold on tight." He says before leaping into the sky...
