moon
Sniffling, Taehyung walked away from the park, putting on his mask and hat as a cover.
He didn't even bother to check his phone for the messages from the other members– he didn't feel like it.
But, he felt his phone vibrate for the longest time and he realized he was getting a call.
It was Namjoon. So, he answered.
"Sorry, hyung, I was a bit busy. I'm coming home."
"It's okay. The Run shooting was rescheduled for tomorrow, I wanted to tell you because you aren't looking at our messages and all of us except you are home right now."
"So, we have the rest of the day off?"
"Yes."
"Okay, thank you. I'll be coming home a little late, though."
"Okay, see you."
He couldn't help but feel the guilt of putting the members through that because of him. But, his mind was so full of you right now– he felt himself brushing off the guilt for now.
He shoved his phone inside his pocket and continued walking. He decided he'd walk home on a sad day like this.
Thankfully the rain had stopped, so he wouldn't get sick.
The air gloomy, he walked, eyes glossy and nose sniffling.
After a two hour long walk- he didn't even notice the time pass, his mind just desperate of wanting you– he finally reached the dorm. He knocked, not wanting to bother to get out the key. He took off his mask before the door opened, revealing Jimin.
"Oh, Taehyung," he greeted. Taehyung didn't say anything back, eyes glued to the ground. He felt if he even spoke or looked up, he would cry. So, without even looking at Jimin, he entered.
Jimin just gave a look of surprise, stepping aside to let him enter before closing the door and going back to the couch, sitting next to Yoongi.
Taehyung just slowly walked in, not looking up. He stopped his footsteps midway making the others look at him with worry.
"Taehyung-ah, are you okay?" Jin asked, eyebrows furrowed in concern. Yoongi looked up at Taehyung, holding his stare on the younger, a flash of worry in his eyes.
Taehyung pursed his lips, they were quivering, on the verge of tears. Not having the heart to stand, he just crossed his legs and sat on the floor, hands covering his face, a dry sob escaping him.
"Taehyung?!" He heard Jimin's exclaim fade into the sound of him starting to cry, warm tears wetting his hand.
Without looking, he could feel the other members in the room rush to his side asking him what was wrong. But, Taehyung couldn't bring himself to answer.
Wiping his tears away with his hands, he looked at the first face he saw in front of him, which was Namjoon's.
"Taehyung-ah? Are you alright?" Not mustering up the voice to speak, Taehyung turned his gaze past Namjoon's shoulder, looking up at the person who was standing, Yoongi.
"Hyung-" Taehyung shakily called. "I..." He started before choking out a sob. Hearing Yoongi sigh, he also heard a mumble, "Move out of the way, Namjoon."
In a few seconds, he felt Yoongi gently wrap his arms around Taehyung, patting his head softly. "It'll be okay. Just tell us what's wrong. We'll accept you."
Taehyung was getting hugged two ways, Yoongi from the front and Jimin from the back. The comfort exuding from them were tremendous and made him feel more at ease.
Calming down his sobs, Taehyung's breath still hitched, but he nodded, letting Yoongi pull back and softly smile at him.
"I..." Taehyung started, looking at everyone else in the room. Jungkook, Jin, Namjoon, Hoseok, and Jimin was still hugging him tightly from the back, not letting go.
"I fell in love."
Even as a whisper, the words were clear, no one else having spoken.
Namjoon let out a breath, a comforting smile now on his lips. He patted Taehyung's head. "It's okay. That's natural."
Taehyung sniffed, breath hitching again. "But–"
"Taehyung, it really is okay," Jin interrupted. "Falling in love is a natural human function. You can't help it."
Jimin, sliding his face to speak, said, "Who is she?" A curious smile on his face.
Yoongi let out a chuckle, almost knowingly. Taehyung felt his heart drop again at Jimin's question.
"That's what I'm saying–" Eyes spilled hot tears again, wiping it with his sleeves. His face was flushed and eyes glossy.
"–it's not... it's not a–"
"It's not a girl, is it?" Yoongi's voice said it for him, sounding allknowing.
Taehyung blinked up in surprise, tears drying for a second. "How...?"
Yoongi gave him an assuring grin. "If you were hanging out with a girl, then the news would've spread so fast– being one of the top idols."
The room fell into silence again, Jimin's mouth agape in surprise. Then, he formed a smile, hugging Taehyung tighter.
"It's okay, TaeTae. Who is he, though?"
Taehyung's heart now filled with warmth, eyes tearing up again in a reassured feeling- it was as if he felt a heaviness in his heart disappear.
"He's... he's... I don't even know where to start–" Taehyung breathed, exasperated, being unable to describe the existence of you.
"Wait– is it your friend we went out to dinner with a few days days ago?" Hoseok asked, realization dawning on him. Then, he laughed. "That's why you seemed so jealous."
Taehyung pouted, relieved that no one was hating him– so relieved to a point that he was on the verge of another set of tears. Voice weak, he tried to defend himself, "I couldn't help it, hyung– you were getting so close to him, and– and, you have no idea how happy I am that all of you accept me–" Voice cracking at the end, his breath hitched, more tears escaping.
He saw all of them huddle up close to him, putting him in a soothing group hug.
"Of course, Taehyung-ah," He heard Jin said, softly. "We all love you."
He felt Jimin nod before speaking, "And, when I saw you start crying– my heart broke. I–... I thought we did something wrong..."
"Hyung," Taehyung heard the youngest say, hearing his voice shaky. "Don't cry like that, please. I'm crying, too, now, because of you."
With a soft giggle, Taehyung wiped his tears, finally feeling it stop. "Sorry, Kookie. I'm really sorry."
"Aigoo, this dongsaeng. Stop apologizing," Jin playfully scolded. "We told you, it's okay. We're family. It's okay."
"I finally realized what you were smiling at your phone about all this time," Jimin laughed, making Taehyung laugh, too.
"I couldn't help it," Taehyung murmured, loving the warmth that engulfed him.
"So, when do we get to meet this special person who stole Taehyungie's heart?" Jimin asked, voice sounding a playful tease.
Taehyung grinned, eyes closing to the lulling feeling of everyone's embrace.
"One day."
>.<
Having just taken a shower, you felt fresh, but your heart still felt heavy, and the atmosphere still felt suffocating.
You set your towel to dry on your chair and slid open the window, wanting to breathe in the cool wind of Seoul.
Setting your face on your hand, elbows on the pane, you stared out– not wanting to think of anything at the moment. If you started– you'd just break your own heart anyway. It's not like you hadn't let your emotions out already– piled up from way back, too. Let's just say that water from the shower wasn't the only waterworks that occured.
Despite your eyes a bit bloodshot, a sharp sting burning, you still looked out your window, admiring the beautiful scenery of the natural satellite.
Even if what you wanted was your mind void of thoughts- you couldn't help but remember the beach, watchingn the night sky, and taehyung. A moment of beauty, that was.
"I'm serious! Okay, maybe not rabbits, but look at the shape the little shadows the moon has!"
"I still don't see it."
"Look," He'd taken your head and pressed its side to his, pointing at the moon, forming shapes with his fingers. "That's the ears and that's the head! Doesn't it look like a rabbit to you?"
"... Somewhat?"
With a playful disappointed look, Taehyung had shook his head. "You're not looking close enough."
Just that memory enough made your sigh, the breath bearing the emotion of gloom and loneliness.
You couldn't help but continue to stare at it, though, the reminiscents making you harbor a heavy yet uplifting feeling of nostalgia in your chest.
You weren't the only one watching the moon, though. On another part of Seoul, on the roof of the apartment building, Taehyung was watching, too.
Neither of you could help it. In the situation both of you were in, you somewhat felt the moon exude warmth- not literally. But, rather metaphorical in a sense of appreciating its existence- along with being comforted with emotions you'd rather not have.
It eased the blue.
