Extra (Happy Birthday Kokichi Ouma!)

((This is extra. You don't need to read it in order to understand this entire book's plot. Notes are at the end.))

"Yahoo!!" A pair of arms wrapped themselves around your waist, causing you to only groan in response.

"What do you want, Kokichi?" you asked in annoyance.

"Awww, don't be so mean to me (Y/N)...! It's my birthday after all!"

"Your...birthday?" Your tone instantly lightened. He should have told me sooner.

"Nishishi, yep!" The arms let go of your waist. He pulled your scarf off so he could look at you properly, and for some reason, you didn't try to fight back or pull it back up to your eyes again.

"Have you told any of the others?"

"Of courseee! Everyone instantly bowed down and kissed my shoes!"

"That's...a lie," you sighed.

"Yeah, the last part was a lie, but I did tell some others. Not many, though, 'cause I knew that they'd brush it off." Kokichi shrugged slightly and looked away for a second. That is...kind of sad... "Welllllll?"

"...What?"

"Are you gonna celebrate with me or what?" The boy cheerfully wrapped his arms around your neck and smiled. He's pretty touchy...but I guess he's just in a good mood....and who am I to ruin it? You hummed in thought before answering.

"Sure."

"Alrighty then! C'mon, the party's in my room!" You just let him drag you all the way to the dormitory and to his room. Once you were inside, you noticed some junk that was starting to gather in small piles on the floor. There was a weird horse head, too...

"Don't just look around! Entertain me! Keep me on my feet!!" He snapped you out of your daze.

"Ah, um... What exactly do you want me to do?"

"First things first. Since you're attending my birthday party, I'm expecting my gifts and cake."

"You never mentioned anything about gifts before," you spoke slowly. "And normally at parties, the guests aren't the ones supplying the cake..."

Kokichi sighed dramatically. "Sooooorryyyy. I'm just not that experienced."

"With...birthday parties?"

"Yeah."

You tilted your head at him. "Have you not had any birthday parties before, Kokichi?"

"What are you talking about!? Of course I have—...There's no point in lying to you, is there? Fiiiiiine... I haven't ever had a birthday party for myself."

That is...definitely pretty sad... I wonder what happened, but I guess I won't push it for now.

"So!" Kokichi suddenly snapped. "That why I want this party with you to be extra special!" His legs kicked back and forth while he was sitting on his bed, looking at you like an eager child.

"Why is it just me here?"

"No one else would come, and..." His childish smile turned into a mischievous smirk. "Actually... Why don't you go figure that out on your own?" You couldn't help but to be a bit confused. I have no idea what he's getting at here.

"..."

"Come on! Chop chop!" He clapped his hands. "Serve the birthday cake to your leader."

"...Huh." You chuckled a bit. "So I went from a fellow peer to your servant?"

"Mhm. But I actually want a better title, 'leader' can be ambiguous...hmm..." Kokichi put a finger up to his cheek in thought. "'Lord' might be too much for now, so...how about 'master'?"

As in mastermind? you instinctively wondered. Gah, snap out of this, (Y/N)...

"Serve your master some cake!!"

You sighed. "Come on Kokichi, I'll see if I can make one in the kitchen."

"Master Kokichi," he corrected you with a wide smirk. This caused you to just stare at him as he hopped off the bed; it was only for amusement though, as you weren't quite annoyed for the time being.

"No way in hell am I going to call you that."

"Pleeeaaaaseeee?"

"It feels weird to call you 'master'. I'm not...some sort of maid or something." You were starting to walk out the door while Kokichi was groaning as he followed you. Some other students saw the two of you, but shook it off as Kokichi just being his usual annoying self.

"Hey, just so you know, you don't have to make me my cake."

"Then...why did you ask me to serve you some??"

"Uhm...I dunno."

You sighed at him. "...Well, I guess I'll still make you one...j-just because it's your first birthday party and we're already in the kitchen." Dammit, I didn't mean to stutter... I don't even know where that came frombut I probably should be dwelling on this right now.

"Awww. That's actually really nice~" Although Kokichi's tone was teasing, his smile seemed genuine.

"Don't think too much about it," you told him, slightly embarrassed. "What flavor?"

"...Huh?"

"You know, chocolate, vanilla? I need to know so I can get the proper ingredients."

"Hmmm..." He looked off into the distance before returning his amethyst gaze towards you. "I dunno," the boy replied bluntly.

You squinted your eyes at him. Wow, he sure is a help. You grabbed ingredients to make a mini chocolate cake and a mini vanilla cake. Once you had everything you quickly got started. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Kokichi just staring at you with wide, wondrous eyes while you worked. You just shrugged it off and started to hum.

After a while, the chocolate cake had been baked and you were finishing up on mixing the batter. You set the bowl down, to which Kokichi immediately dipped his finger into. He brought it up to his mouth to taste it. "Hmm..." He turned to you as you were getting the other cake out of the oven. "You know what's sweeter than this?"

"What?"

"Nishishi... Guess."

The question caught you off guard and you were completely clueless. "Err... I-I don't know! What kind of question is that!?"

"Dummy..." As soon as you put the batter into a pan and inside the stove, you felt arms wrap around your waist once more. "It's you," he whispered in your ear. He was so close to you that you could feel his warm breaths on your neck. You instantly broke out into a sweat. Is this real...?

"Of course it isn't real!" Kokichi suddenly called out, pulling away from you like you had some sort of disease. "Oh man, you actually believed such a lie!?"

You looked down at the floor, ashamed.

"You're just a dumb*ss, thirsty wh*re! No better than Miu!"

"I...I'm sorry..."

"'Sorry'!? Hahaha, how pitiful! Did you eeeever think that I'd act like that to you and be honest in my actions?" Kokichi turned on his heels. "You're even lower than a servant to me. Screw you, I'm gonna go find better people to celebrate with. I bet your cakes tasted like sh*t anyways." He strutted away from you, leaving you in mournful silence...is what you thought would happen.

"Hey, (Y/N), are you okay?" The arms around your waist had disappeared; you managed to process that a hand was placed carefully on your back, however. "You've been silent for the last two minutes."

"..."

Kokichi turned you around, only to find you intently staring at the floor. Determined to know what was up, he used his thumb and index finger to force your head up and look at him—he immediately saw your glossy grey eyes. "Is something wrong...?"

"Nah... I'm fine." A single tear managed to run down your face before you could stop it, or even notice it for that matter. "I just...imagined something, is all."

Kokichi furrowed his brows. He wiped your tear away with his thumb. "It must have been pretty bad, huh? Do you mind telling me what you imagined?" You shrugged in response, but still went on to explain it.

Kokichi was confused. "Why would something so small hurt you like this?"

You looked down at the floor again. "Well... I—" You were cut off by the sound of the oven going off. "Never mind. It looks like the last cake is done...if you still want it."

He gave you a smile. "Of course."

The two of you walked to the table in the dining hall and started eating. Kokichi!s face lit up. "Wow. This is the best birthday cake I've ever tasted...!"

According to you, it's probably the only birthday cake you've ever tasted, you thought nervously.

"And what's this taste like!?" The boy hastily took a piece from your cake. "Woooow, this is great!"

"Ehehe... Uh, thanks." You both continued to eat until there was nothing left on the plates. You looked up at Kokichi who had a small crumb left on his face.

He noticed you looking at him, so he tilted his head. "What?"

"Er, nothing."

"Okay then! Wanna go back to my dorm?" You shrugged. "I'll take that as a yes. C'mon!" Kokichi stood up and started dragging you along with him. He kept on rambling about various topics on the way there, but he moved so fast that you didn't think that he'd even remember saying anything. Eventually, though, you two arrived.

Upon entering Kokichi's dorm again, Kokichi returned to his bed while you awkwardly stood in the middle of the room. "Hey, you can come over here and sit down." He patted beside him.

"Uh, alright." You joined him on the bed and looked down at your fidgeting hands. "So uh... Is there anything specific you wanted to do?"

"Hang out with my dearest (Y/N)~!" the boy cooed. "Do whatever people do at birthday parties."

"Well, it depends. If you're hosting a party at some public place then you can tailor your actions to what the place has to offer. Like if you went to an amusement park, or a gaming place, you and whoever you invited could ride rides or play games. If you invite them over for the day or for a sleepover then you can do anything."

"Well if that's the case, then..." Kokichi thought for a moment before speaking again. "How about we have a sleepover!? You can sleep over here for the night!" He was beaming.

"Why not?"

"Yay!" Kokichi bounced up and down a little in his spot. "This is gonna be the most extreme and not boring sleepover ever!! How about we go to the A/V Room and watch a horror movie?"

You shrugged. "It's your special day. You can do whatever you want."

"Nishishi! Okay, fooooollow me!"
***

"W-Why are we doing this...?"

"..."

"A-Answer me!" Kokichi was curling up into a ball, moving closer and pressing even more into you if possible.

"This was your idea." You glanced back down at the boy who you had never seen so terrified in your life. He reached up to grab your arm, holding onto it tightly as if something bad were to happen if he let go. You glanced back at the screen to see what he was so scared about: a woman sitting on a lone couch in what you assumed to be her house. She was watching her television screen, too distracted to see the shadow creature slowly creeping up behind her. The creature was really close now...

This segment of the movie was made to look like it was security footage. The screen glitched out a hit every now and then. There were no sounds except the growing sound of breathing. Right before the creature reached the woman, it stopped. The next thing either of you knew, the creature jumped up into the camera causing it to glitch and stop recording.

Kokichi let out a shriek and jumped into your arms. You let out a shaky sigh, and went ahead to pause the movie on the black frame. True, the jump scare did get you, but you didn't want to show it. The boy in your arms was shaking immensely. "This was a bad idea, this was a bad idea. I'm gonna have nightmares now," he kept mumbling.

"Shhh... It's fine. It's fine." You ran your fingers through his purple hair. It seemed to calm him down a little. "It's just a movie...and besides, I'll be right next to you if you have a nightmare."

"..."

"Come on, I'll take you to the dorms."

"(Y/N)...can we stay like this?"

"Huh?"

"I get paranoid sometimes... So I'm afraid that if I look anywhere, I'll believe the shadow creature thing is there. I just...feel safer with you."

Your cheeks heated up a little, but you dismissed it. You tried your best to walk while embracing Kokichi but it was no use. You ended up carrying him bridal style with his face buried into your neck. You were lucky that the movie was long, so it was a fair amount of time since the nighttime announcement went off. That meant that no one saw you two.

You arrived at his room which was luckily unlocked. You walked inside, closing and locking the door behind you. "Okay, you can get up now." Kokichi seemed to hesitate before dropping out of your arms. You walked over to his bed, pulling back the covers. The boy flopped down, but quickly moved so you could have space. The bed could fit two people, but it was still relatively small.

"...I feel bad that I haven't been able to give you a proper present," you blurted out.

"This entire day was my present!" He smiled cheerfully at you. "But y'know...there is one thing that could make it better..."

"What is it?"

He sat up and motioned for you to do the same. He suddenly grabbed your head with both of his hands to bring your face forward. The next thing you knew, his lips were pressed against yours. Awkwardly, you tried to kiss back. It wasn't any heated lustful make out or anything like that, yet it was more than just a simple peck on the lips. The two of you pulled away from each other.

"There, now I'm satisfied," Kokichi spoke with a small smirk on his face.

"Did you...enjoy this birthday party?" you whispered.

"Yeah...! I can't wait for next year."

You smiled at that. "Goodnight, Kokichi."

"Goodnight, (Y/N)."

Last night/this morning since it was kinda at midnight, I just randomly had the idea to do something extra. I wanted an extra page for Valentine's day but I didn't get to it. (ㆀ˘・з・˘) Anyway, yeah, this is just a short one shot, I guess...?? It does happen in the setting of this book, but this isn't canon. It's waaaay too early for any of you to be acting this way to each other. Only my friend whom I've asked for help on future parts and I know just how long you all are gonna have to wait until (Y/N) and Kokichi kiss in the canon plot. (My friend gave me an idea so yeah...you can thank her, 'cause if she hadn't said anything then I would've made you all wait even longer.)

Hope you all enjoyed and hAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KOKICHI OUMA!

(I dunno why but in the game, my head canon for his age is 15.)
