Everyone dispersed. You were about to decide where you were going to hang out at whenever you remembered that you wanted to catch up with Rantaro and speak to him about a few things. Your eyes darted across the room, eventually finding the green-haired male. "Hey, hey," you called out.

"Hm?" He looked around. "Oh, it's you." He gave a polite smile and waved, patiently waiting for you as you walked up to him. "Need something?"

You quickly checked to see if no one else was around to listen. "Well, I just wanted to ask some things about you."

"Uhh, sure," Rantaro replied, rubbing on the back of his neck slightly out of nervousness. "Hehe, I'm not in trouble, am I?" You shook your head.

"No, not at all."

"Well then, would you like to hang out with me while you're at it?"

You tilted your head at him. "You aren't asking me out on a date, are you?"

Rantaro gave a shaky smile and blushed, embarrassed. "Ah, I'm sorry it came out that way."

"It's fine, really," you assured him. You attempted to give the male a comforting look. "Uh, anyway... I've just noticed your behavior. It seems like... ugh, how do I put this..?" Rantaro tilted his head in wonder and raised a brow, waiting patiently for you to continue. "Well... ok, look at this. Everyone is freaking out at every new corner and the new information that's given, but you... almost seem to accept itit's kinda as if you're somehow..." You then looked at him through slightly narrowed eyes. "...expecting it." Careful (Y/N), don't be too hostile, you warned yourself. You don't want to lose trust with someone already. "But, that's just my look on it," you said cooly in recovery, turning your head to the side.

Rantaro bit the inside of his lip. "Well... I honestly don't know how to answer to that."

"So... you really are just as clueless as the rest of us are, huh?" you questioned.

"I guess you could say that. I can see where you're coming from but, honestly, I have no idea why I'm acting this way," the green-haired male told you. He sighed. "Now I feel awkward. Like a bad person, somehow..." You felt as though it was your fault that his mood was ruined. Do something...! your mind told you instinctively.

"Mmph... sorry," you mumbled. An awkward silence passed through, with Rantaro just keeping his gaze on you and looking away only a few while you just squirmed in your place. All of a sudden your face lightened up at you remembered something. You started rummaging through your pockets, looking for something that you had seen earlier and decided to pick up. Now where is it...? "...Ah, here it is," you whispered to yourself. You pulled something out and held it in your palms in front of the teen.

"You've got something pretty interesting there. Where'd you find it?" Rantaro asked curiously.

"I woke up early and decided to go ahead and walk out of my dorm," you explained while fumbling around with the dog tag a little, "and I noticed that my foot touched something in the dark while I was leaving. So, I bent over, picked it up, and continued on as normal."

"Ha, nice," the green-haired male said. He just looked at it. ...Is this how I'm supposed to do it? you asked yourself, obviously not used to the situation. You have never tried to give something of your possessions to someone else, so it felt quite weird for you to just be sticking something out with the other person not taking it. You nudged your hands closer towards the teen insistently; when he gave no response, you furrowed your brow a bit out of confusion and frustration. You let out a small grumble, causing Rantaro to slowly tilt his head. You then suddenly grabbed his hands and dropped the dog tag in them.

"Oh, you're giving it to me? A present?" he asked and you nodded stiffly. "That's so sweet. You're being so nice to a guy who doesn't even know his own talent..." Rantaro held his hand up to his head nervously and blushed. From there on, you reasoned that you would be able to make a steady conversation and hold it.

"Hey, do you remember anything about your life before you got here?" you asked.

"Hmm... why?"

"I was just wondering. After all, maybe I could help you figure out your Ultimate talent."

Rantaro shrugged humbly. "Oh really? But we're not even sure that I have an Ultimate talent in the first place."

"Oh come on," you growled, "be more positive than that." The teen just chuckled at your attempt to make him feel better. "Now come on, come on. Out with the information." You led him over to the table in the dining hall before anything else. Once you both were there he started talking.

"Well, if anything I can remember that one of my hobbies... was traveling. In fact, I would travel around the world by boat," Rantaro said, looking off into the distance. You rested your head on your hand and nodded thoughtfully.

"Well... maybe your talent is the 'Ultimate Traveler' or something," you offered. "Or the 'Ultimate Adventurer'. Something cool like that, you know?"

"Maybe," the green-haired male told you. He hummed a bit while you started messing around with your hands and traced shapes on the table in a calm nature. "...Have you ever noticed how quiet you are?" You looked up at him from what you were doing.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" you questioned, raising a brow.

"What I mean is that, well, it just seems like you don't reach out to the group all that much. You act calm, too, for most of the time." You sighed at Rantaro's response, not knowing what you think about it. Finally, you ended up shaking your head incredulously. "In fact," he went on, "why are you even talking to me?"

"Oh, well I'm sorry," you said trying to defend yourself. Unintentionally, your voice became less calm while the hostility grew. "Am I really that much of a bother to you?" You were now sitting upright. "You could've just said so earlier; then I wouldn't have had to go through this, and my time wouldn't have been f*cking wasted..."

"Hey, now," Rantaro spoke up, "that's not where I was going with this." You were too much of a mess internally to make out whether that was a lie or the truth. "I meant... since you don't talk to many others in our group, why me? Like I said, I don't even remember my own talent." You let out a short breath, but refused to visibly show any signs of defeat.

"I don't know why you. I guess I was originally curious and then we got to having a relatively pleasant conversation, can't you just take that?"

"Alright, alright, fine." You started running your hand through your hair when the male suddenly asked, "Can you explain your talent to me?"

"My talent?" you repeated while he nodded. "Ok, if you really want to know." You took a deep breath in, getting ready to tell your story as well as answer a lot of questions. Though, you were very reluctant to just share everything out to this boy who you almost just met. ...It's the least I can do for someone who is unsure of their own talent, you hesitantly thought with a mental sigh. You took one more breath. "So, if you can recall, I am the Ultimate Truth Holder. Now, if my memories serve me correctly then ever since I was a young child I was very...intuitive and read people easy. I don't know how, honestlyI was just a normal person. Uhm, anyway.

"I was given my title when my mom finally let me go to her work when I was seven years old. Conveniently, on that day one of her most important cases came up. She was just a person who interrogated people whenever they would be brought into the station, you know. So there was this person who came in and was suspected to be the culprit of the recent mass murder, where thirty seven people died and two schools had a halfway successful shooting. There were multiple journalists there, people working for the newspaper, photographers and all those important people. The suspect told a pretty convincing story, and my mom believed it at the time. But that was when he looked over at me from the table. He gave me this... sinister grin that I'll never forget. He lip synced the words, 'I'll get out, and when I do, I'll make sure you're the next one.'

"It was as if that sent some sort of spark right through me. I yelled at the top of my lungs, 'Liar! Turn yourself in to the truth!' Everyone else just looked at me in awe because, I mean, I was just seven when I did this. I can't remember how exactly I did it, but I managed to pick through the suspect's story of lies and screwed him over. He was sweating bullets, I tell you, ha. Once that was all over, my mom praised me like the new world and we went out for dinner...

"Ha, mom..." you repeated softly, being reminded of her all too well. You remembered that you had a picture of your mom in her locket that was somewhere, and that you kept a journal tightly packed of the information about your past lifebut of course, all of those things were probably long gone by then.

"Ah, I see. Pretty neat story," Rantaro told you with a smile.

"Thanks..." You weren't used to compliments, so you weren't quite sure on how exactly to react.

"Ahh, I see~! So that's your story!!" Your expression totally dropped when you heard a new voice make its grand entrance into the room. Oh dear lord, who could it be...? You turned your body to face the direction where the new person just came in, and...

"Boo!!"

"W-Waah..!" you yelped. The person was right up in your face when they surprised you like that, causing you to fall back in your chair. You closed your eyes, expecting for you to soon be met with by the hard tile floor... but a pair of arms had wrapped themselves around you. Huh...? You opened an eye to see what happened. Kokichi had a somewhat surprised look on his face when he too realized the situation you both were put in. The chair had been pushed away entirely, with your legs in a slightly uncomfortable position, for they had been caught in the middle of falling; the purple-haired boy had his arms wrapped tightly around your back while you just scrunched up your arms like a frightened child.

"K-Kokichi!" you stuttered. "This is the second time now that we've ended up in... a p-physical situation. I-It's like you're doing this on purpose!" You bashfully looked away as your mind went haywire and you grew flustered. You bit your lip. "..b-but, thanks for keeping me from falling... I g-guess..." Your stutters were very small, but they could be noticed if someone was really listening.

"Nishishi~ No problem~!" the boy replied. The two of you heard slight chuckling in the background. "Hey!! Do you mind?? (Y/N) and I are having an intimate moment right now!" Intimate..!? You quickly became mentally tired as confusion took over.

"Ha. I was here first, you know," Rantaro spoke calmly.

"Ugh, whatever," Kokichi responded with a groan while rolling his eyes. He then smirked when he looked back over to you in your blushing state. "Do you want me to let you go now~?" You tried to say 'sure' but you couldn't find the voice to do it; so instead you just quietly nodded. "O-kay!" he said cheerfully. He pulled you to an upright position, but he noticeably kept his arms around your for an extra second or two longer before completely letting you free.

"Now, uh, Kokichi..." you started, slowly regaining your posture. "Why are you here exactly?"

"Eh, not really much of a reason. I was bored and no one else wanted to hang out with me, and then I heard you two," he looked at you but gave the other teen a glance, "talking in here. So I thought that I might as well join you all!"

"Kokichi, how much, exactly, did you hear from our conversation?" Your brows furrowed all the slightest as you waited for a reply.

"Umm... I don't know!" He put his hands behind his neck like he sometimes did and smiled brightly. "But I did hear your amazing story, (Y/N)." Oh... great... You glanced back over at Rantaro who had his eyes closed. Opening them back up and walking over to the purple-haired male, he started to speak.

"I'll get going, I have some stuff to attend to. Don't want to invade your all's privacy anyway, right?" He gave a warm smile and waved. "See you two later. And it was nice talking with you (Y/N)." You watched as the green-haired male exited the dining hall. You let out a small breath and looked at the boy in front of you, wondering what to do.

"So?"

"So...what?"

"I'm getting boredddd," Kokichi whined. "I wanna do something fun! Something exciting that will get my blood rushing!"

"Well I'm sorry but I'm no one of real interest." You looked towards the side and messed with your hair nervously for a second. "I'm useless... I bet that you could easily find someone better than me to hang out with, if that's the point you were alluding to."

Kokichi huffed. "Don't be such a meanie to yourself!" Suddenly you felt a warm hand grasp onto yours. "Now come on! We're gonna find some place fun to hang out at!"

"Hey, Kokichi," you rushed, "where are yougah!" The purple-haired teen started to run with you in his clutch, basically dragging you around. You tried to use your legs for your own good, and somehow you were able to keep them running at a steady pace to match up with the boy's. You looked up at his face and saw a genuine, playful smile. He looked back at you.

"Nishishishi! Glad to see you're almost keeping up!" He all of a sudden accelerated, causing you to stumble and lose your once steady footing. He's really fast for being the small shorty that he is. The two of you made it outside after a few minutes. You all had ran by a few other students on the way, some stopping to look back at your trail with confusion while others just laughed.

Kokichi smirked at you. Oh no, what can that mean? you thought painfully. Without warning, the boy halted himself to a stop, causing you to crash into him. You closed your eyes and shook your head for a second, recovering from your treacherous journey, and then looked at him in the eyes. "What...was that...about? There isn't any...rush, we've got all the time...in the world now," you said through your shaky breathing. You were satisfied to see that you weren't the only one who was shook during that run; Kokichi was panting just about as heavily as you.

"Well," the purple-haired boy started while trying to regain his breath. "You know...we could get k-killed at...any time. You could kill...me, and I could definitely...kill you at any point... even right now." He was still panting while he said that, but managed to give another sentence that was much more clear. "This is a killing game after all." You just then remembered that. The only reason you two as well as the others had came to know each other just a bit... was because you were all forced into the sick and twisted game of pure despair and murder; but for some reason, you didn't feel threatened by him whatsoever. Your intuition was kicking in. I can't sense any malice in his voice... you thought.

"Despite how much you can act like a little sh*t to others..." you breathed, "I don't think you could actually kill anyone." Annoyed at yourself for panting like a dog, you used an exercise that your mom had taught you a long time ago to steady your heartbeat. After a second or two you calmed down.

"No fair!" Kokichi said playfully. "How...do you do that?? I would kind of...benefit from it right now."

"Just find a way to slow down your heartbeat, because that's making your breathing worse." You led him over to a bench since you realized that your hands were still intertwined. After a few moments of frustration the boy in front of you looked up at you.

"Am I doing it right?"

"I don't know...! You really think I can sense your heartbeat from all the way over here?" With a second's pause, Kokichi suddenly took one of your hands and held it up to where his heart should be. You felt yourself stiffen a bit at the action that seemingly came out of nowhere. You looked up at the male in front of you, noticing that he was just staring down at your hand for a second before closing his eyes with a blank face. The aura around him felt... calm.

You seriously had to work hard at keeping your hand still, or even your entire body. I've never had such a close encounter like this, you monologued in your head. Much less where there was physical contact, so...urk, this is all too new for me. Why would someone like him choose to interact with me? The event seemed all too surreal to you; in fact, the entire situation you were forced in felt too surreal. Again, you touched up with the fact that without the killing game ever happening, you and everyone else stuck there would have kept going on about their normal livesyou all wouldn't have met, and the idea of something as absurd as this would have never crossed their mind.

You noticed that Kokichi's heart was at a steady pace, despite the rather awkward position he may have put himself in. You, on the other hand, could just feel your own steady beat start quickening. You inhaled and exhaled quietly.

Out of nowhere the boy started smiling, and after a slight pause he finally opened his eyes back up again. "Nishishi~ I'm glad that we got to have our little... 'heart to heart' moment there," he said with a soft smile. He looked into your grey eyes as you struggled to keep eye contact with his purple orbs. It then looked like he had just remembered something. He looked down at where the two of you were touching. Slowly and almost carefully he pulled your hand back and let go.

"...What are you doing?" The purple-haired male had the back of his hand brushed up against one of his cheeks.

"Oh, nothing!" Kokichi chirped and put his hands on his neck. Ugh...Kokichi, you contemplated. I could go full ham on you with my talent to see if there's anything wrong...but I guess I'll spare you this time. Letting out a small breath, you decided to change the topic.

"I was just thinking. Would you mind if you explained your talent?" you asked.

"Oh?" Kokichi put on a playful smirk. "And why's that?"

"Well, you see...the Ultimate Supreme Leader...isn't that a rather unique talent?"

The boy leaned in to you closer, resting his head on closed fists. "Wooooow! Someone is actually curious about me!" He then put a finger up to his lips. "But sorry, (Y/N). As much as I'd love to tell you, I can't give away the secrets about my secret and evil organization."

You huffed and looked away. "As suspected."

"Awww, come on!" Kokichi cooed. "I was just messing around with you~!" He grabbed your chin with his thumb and index finger, forcing you to look at him. "How about you join my group when we escape this place!?" There were sparkles visible in his eyes at that point.

"Tch, never."

"Nishishi~ I'll just let you think about that for a while. We can talk about this later, 'kay?" Kokichi gave you a cheeky smile while patting you on the head before standing up and running away, leaving you in silence.

Yeah, so normally I won't have one of these little notes at the end, because I want to seem relatively "professional" while writing this story (even though I often act really casual, oops). However, I just wanted to let you all know that for now on, I will try to stick to an uploading schedule. Every Saturday, a new part will be posted. If for some reason I don't have the part completed by then, then I will publish it on Tuesday and everything will go back to normal.
(Sorry I had to keep you all waiting just for this terrible chapter...but I'm trying, at least, I really am.)
((Edit: Woahhh, I just now noticed the 1k! Thank you all so much!!)
